Beautiful home with views to take your breath away. The open living and kitchen area was fantastic. The only drawback to this home was the long and bumpy dirt road to get there.

We loved our stay! The home had everything we needed and communication was excellent! The views were so beautiful and well worth the drive up and down the mountain road to get there!

Beautiful cabin! Gorgeous view! We saw deer and elk on each trek to Yellowstone; however the road to the cabin was difficult to navigate because of it’s many, deep potholes. We were very thankful to have rented a 4x4 truck because I do not believe a sedan could’ve handled it.

We met up with family to visit Yellowstone and this was the perfect place to stay. Danyalle was super nice and helpful. The home was clean and comfy. I’ve read other comments about visitors not liking the road to the house. We loved it! It wasn’t that bad and if you really want to feel like you are “away from it all” this is the place! It was nice to sit on the deck and listen to the waterfall behind the house and the wind through the trees. There was wildlife to see and hear all around us. We will definitely be back!

3-Mile Ranch has beautiful views

We much enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the elk meander up in the mountains. It would have been nice to have a heads-up notification that the bridge was out on the road that we needed to go down off the highway. We arrived close to dark and getting to the ranch is not easy, but having to figure out how to navigate the closed road made it more difficult.

BeautifuViews!

Beautiful Place! Very remote, lots of wildlife, stunning views, and the sound of the stream rushing made evenings and mornings a great hangout. We stayed here for our Yellowstone Trip one of the cool things we saw a lot of wildlife which is what we were looking for. especially on our journey to get to the location every day. so remote we often had no cell service so communication could be challenging. The views and location are worth it especially if you're wanting to just get away from everything. Loved It!

Beautiful property

Danyalle was an excellent host. She answered promptly when we had questions or concerns. The property itself was beautiful and had plenty of space for 4 adults and 1 teenager. The only thing that could have made our stay better (and it was pretty well perfect) is if the floods in 2022 to the area hadn't taken out the bridge to cut the drive on dirt roads down by 5 miles, otherwise all 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was perfect views of wildlife pretty well all day and sunrise/sunset to drink coffee or just spend time with your loved ones. I think we will definitely try to come back to 3 Mile Ranch as Danyalle truly made our stay memorable.

Great Place - Bad Location

The house was fine, and loved the welcome book. Unfortunately, it's also up an 8 mile unpaved, gravel road. Unless you're in an SUV, don't do it. Also, the driving directions provided by the property were incorrect. The bridge washed out 2+ years ago, so I'm not sure why we were told to use a non existent bridge. The property is a good 30-40 minutes away from either town for dinner....up and down that gravel switchback road, where 15mph is a top speed. But other than that... a pretty view

Away from the bustle

We were looking for something with sufficient space for our three small children while being remote enough for a chance of wildlife viewing but still an easy drive to the North Yellowstone entrance at Gardiner. I under appreciated the drive from the property to the entrance (about 40 minutes) but was pleasantly surprised with how private the property is and the hospitality of the manager Danyelle. She reached out prior to arrival and offered route suggestions and advice for grocery purchases. She also checked in to make sure everything was up to our expectations. Our children loved interacting with the horses on site and playing on the hammock. There is a very large wraparound deck with views Northward of Paradise Valley and Emigrant Peak. You can hear the rush of nearby Rock Creek as you grill your steak on the included BBQ. All told, this was a tremendous location, provided you have the time to enjoy it. If you are looking for a crash pad with a quick, easy commute to the entrance and don’t plan on spending much time, stay at a tiny condo in Gardiner. But if you value the solace and connection with nature only a remote cabin can provide, this is a fantastic option.

Disconnected and Reconnected

Many core memories were created during our stay. My family was in awe of the scenery, the sound of the water below, the horses, and the hammock all before we even entered the house. Upon entering, forgetting that houses in MT don't usually have a/c, we made ourselves as comfortable as possible in the current heat wave. Thankfully, fans were provided along with advice on when to open/close windows. We (or rather, my teen) realized that our cell service was non-existent. I assumed that wifi would be present but upon further investigation, it was not listed as an amenity but was offered for an additional cost in the welcome notebook. While tempting, we chose to forego the connection (shhh, don't tell my kids 😜) and accepted the off-grid challenge. It did not disappoint! Our first night there, we star-gazed and got to see a shooting star! Other nights we roasted smores over the propane firepit. Having the bear spray provided made us feel safer as well. Additionally, much to my delight, the Anne of Green Gables movie from the 80s was on-hand and I got to share one of my childhood faves with my family. I hadn't seen that movie in 25+ years and I recognized a large similarity between Anne and my youngest. We met the hostess, Danyalle, when her and hubs came to fill the horse's water trough. She gave us permission to feed them carrots! Beds were comfy and spice cabinet was well stocked (Old Bay!). Note: Due to a washed-out bridge, it now takes approx. 45 minutes to get to Gardiner.

House was very nice, love the quiet location after a long day in Yellowstone with lots of people. Well-stocked kitchen, which we used for several dinners. I loved sitting on the deck listening to the forest and nearby creek. Owner was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Friendly and polite!Be aware of the 3 mile gravel road - it wasn't a big deal to us since we are used to lots of types of backroads and had rented a suburban, but you'll definitely want a vehicle that doesn't sit low to the ground. If we come back to the area, I would definitely rent the house again!

A slice of heaven

This cabin is perfectly situated about 30 min North of Yellowstone. The views from the deck are out of this world! The 3-mile drive up to the cabin is a little bumpy, but totally worth it. Make sure to stock up on groceries prior to arrival. The kitchen had a lot of essentials so don’t buy spices or other one-offs prior to checking out what has been left previously. Make sure to bring binoculars/spotter’s scope for the park and the “B Bar Ranch” for the grizzlies! Awesome house and amazing trip.

Yellowstone Trip

If you are looking for privacy and Amazing views, this place is perfect! The host was very good at responding to all of our questions. The house is very well stocked. Be prepared for a little warmth in the house if it gets hot outside. We are from SC so at least there's not the humidity! It's not unbearable but with no AC it can warm up. There's a nice breeze so that helps. The nights do cool down so that's good. There's a river way down below, so that makes some scenic sound when sitting on the deck. We never had a problem with WIFI. The house was easy to find but the description of the location does not mention how BUMPY the road to the house is! It's not super steep (we've stayed at some mountain homes that were scary to drive up.) so that was not an issue. It's about a 20 minute drive, maybe a little less, from the main road to the house. The road honestly kept us from leaving the house to go into Livingston or Gardner to shop or have dinner. We drove it down and back once a day. We were visiting Yellowstone for the first time and the house was about 20 minutes from the North Entrance after you are back on the main road. So that was nice. We shopped in Livingston for groceries on our way to the house the first day as was recommended by the host. There is a small grocery store in Gardner if you forget something. Overall, the house was great for getting to and from Yellowstone and Great for privacy and mountain views.

Couldn't Be Better

The home is well off the beaten path on a Forest Service road. It is private and secluded, without a neighbor n sight of the property. The views from the house and porch are absolutely amazing. It takes about 20 minutes to drive up from Route 89, and is well worth it. At the base of the mountain on 89 is the Yellowstone River, where we met our guide for a fantastic fly fishing float. The park is a short drive away also. We also took time to explore the various service roads into the Gallatin Nat'l Forest, where we even saw a pair of Grizzly Bears (the host provided bear spray) in a field. The wild life, scenery, and the house itself was amazing. There were also three horses on the property that would venture right by the porch each morning. We could not be happier with our stay!
