About this property

Calor Nest - Family/Kid Oriented Homestead

Welcome to the Calor Nest retreat in Manitou Springs! Our neighborhood is nestled up in the hills with gorgeous views surrounding. A stay in our cozy place will be the perfect space to rest after exploring downtown Manitou, climbing the Manitou Incline, hiking around Garden of the Gods, or walking through Old Colorado City. Pikes Peak is right out front and Red Rock Canyon Open Space has lots of gorgeous trails that are accessible from our neighborhood.

We have converted our basement into a beautiful 3 bedroom/1 bath unit including a kitchenette/laundry with a complete remodel for a fresh and comfortable feel. You will have a private entrance through the walkout patio door.

We live upstairs with our two girls! We also have an older dog, Chai, and a younger dog, Nala, who loves to meet new people. While our dogs love to get any attention you want to give them, we understand not everyone loves doggie love and are happy to accommodate.

While the inside has been extensively updated, the outside is still a work in progress. Please be patient with us as we bring it up to par with the indoor space! Also, we would appreciate any feedback you might have on how we can improve our space!

Smoking is absolutely prohibited on our property inside and outside. If you smoke on our property you WILL be asked to leave. If we find evidence that smoking occurred this WILL be noted in your public review and a fine will be charged. This is to protect our family, our house and the next family that will be staying in the space.

Great Location and Wonderful Hosts

We have a wonderful stay, and this downstairs property was perfect for our family of five. It was clean and had everything that we needed. The family who lives upstairs is so kind and helpful, and my kids loved playing with their kids and dog. We loved that there were hiking trails so close, and it was super convenient to downtown Manitou Springs and the Garden of the Gods!

Great place to unwind for a family

Great location, and it's just like staying at home. Family of four will not be disappointed. If you like to come back to a quiet neighborhood to decompress after a day of hiking and shopping, this is your location. Host family was great as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our bonus time with Nala, greeting us with a tail wag and nose bump whenever we came back.

Clean & Great Location

Our stay at the Calor Nest was wonderful. The host family was very nice and gave us good suggestions on what to see. The rental is in a walkout basement of their home and was extremely clean, with a homey feel and a nice amount of natural light. Their dog was very sweet and would hang out on the patio by the door. Being able to see Garden of the Gods from their patio with a cup of coffee was very relaxing.

We very much enjoyed staying at Caleb and Taylor's property. The location was extremely convenient for accessing downtown Manitou, the Cliff Dwellings and Pikes Peak. It is obvious that they want to ensure a pleasant stay for their guests, as the house is well stocked, clean and welcoming. They were immediately available for any questions we had. Will stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Calor Nest. Communication with the hosts was great. Check in couldn’t have been easier. We had everything we needed and some extras. We thoroughly enjoyed their sweet pup Nala. She snuggled with me as I read a book in the back yard. Would stay here again and bring our kids.

Easy to get in, BEAUTIFUL backyard view, super thoughtful amenities such as coffee beans and drip machine, sound machines, and an essential oil diffuser. Clean. There are three bedrooms, one with a bunk bed (the designated kid room). My fiancé and I got placed in that room since our moms took the other two bedrooms. In the future, if coming with 3 adults, would recommend doubling up in the single bedrooms. The kids room bed is not as comfy as the other two (which makes sense for kids!). Otherwise, would be perfect for a couple(s) and their kids with that set up!

5 Gals from Wisconsin loved the Peaceful Family Oriented Retreat

We stayed from Aug. 2nd - 5th, 2024. As one of the Gals stated in the coffee table book, "We could not have stayed at a better place." We were all so impressed with many things including the cozy house, lovely touches of comfort, loved the family and their dog, who live upstairs, the views are awesome, close to many attractions and we all agreed we would stay there again if in the Manitou Springs area. :)

Modern, Clean, and Convenient

Modern remodeled basement unit. Listing was accurate, owners were very friendly and helpful, great young family. Location is super convenient to many local attractions and downtown Manitou. We had plenty of room and all the normal amenities and things you would expect, especially in the kitchen/bathroom. Very clean and fresh upon arrival, we had a great time here. 1 Con: The owners live above, there is a lot of noise from upstairs. It's just normal family activity, but be aware some days may be worse than others, however it did not go late and we were able to sleep with no worries.

Wonderful stay, will return

This is an extremely nice three-bedroom walkout basement property. The exterior grounds are very much a work in progress, so don't let that throw you when you arrive. The kitchen was excellently organized and easy to use. The bathroom was small, but workable. The unit was very clean. The entrance was in the back, down some steps, and with a mulch path. Luggage is carried, not rolled, to the door. If we are in the area and need lodging, we will definitely stay here again. The host was extremely nice. If you see a dog by the door, don't worry. He is calm, extremely friendly, and will wait for a rub if you choose to give him one.

Not what I thought

The price was not worth the stay. Had to walk around the house to get in,no front door, steps not explained older people could not make it in, owners live above and are very loud night and day. Just disappointed for the cost.
