Great cottage and host. Marion is very welcoming and responsive as a host and the cottage is a perfect home. We love Bembridge - great walks and fabulous amenities especially the bakery! We look forward to our next visit.
This cottage has all mod cons but still has character and charm. We had a lovely few days staying there. Nice comfy beds and all clean and tidy. Great communication with host and key safe made for easy move in. Many thanks!
The house is in a super location: walking distance to shops, restaurants, pub and the beach (10mins walk) Everything was as described in the listing and it was just what we needed for the 2 nights we were there. Children particularly enjoyed the garden games - thank you.
We are four friends visiting for the festival and are very lucky to have found this gem of a cottage in the pretty village of Bembridge, with its charming shops and awesome eateries (Lagom for coffee and delicious brekkie, The Beach Hut for awesome seafood). The cottage, with its own parking, fab decor, very comfortable beds and private pretty garden, was a perfect base for us. Great communication with the host too - we would definitely recommend and would love to come back to do more exploring. Thank you!

Lovely cottage full of quirky details.
The cottage is close to lots of great shops and restaurants. The enclosed garden was brilliant for us and our dog. The owners had obviously given a lot of thought to what their guests might need. We've loved it.

A little gem in Bembridge!
This cottage is in such a fantastic location, close to a friendly, local pub plus the lovely village shops of Bembridge. Just a short walk to the beach which was great for the dog walking!. The cottage itself is warm, welcoming and cosy with everything you need plus a lovely outdoor area and off street parking. Would recommend and was perfect for two couples plus a dog and we look forward to returning!

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We look forward to seeing you back soon and hope you will discover some of the other lovely walks starting straight from the cottage door
Have stayed at various accommodation in Bembridge over the years and they have generally not disappointed. This one was the same. A great base to explore the village and the many footpaths around the area. And with biblical rain showers having a pub within two minutes walk was a bonus.

Thanks Norman I hope you will come back to the island soon
Great location both within the village (very central) and village itself as a location for the Isle of Wight.
The property had all appropriate amenities and the living space was well appointed.
The email information from the host, was very informative and helpful for our stay.

Fabulous cottage with everything you need and close to local amenities
We had a wonderful long weekend at Drayton Cottage during February half term. The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean and inviting. We very much appreciated the attention to detail providing useful items for the dog and recommendations for good walks to go in the area. The local pub is friendly and the food reasonably good value. Overall a lovely stay and we would definitely like to return again soon. Thank you.

A lovely, tastefully decorated and well equipped cottage in the delightful village of Bembridge!
We spent 4 nights at Drayton Cottage and wished we could stay longer. We loved the attention to detail inside the cottage with helpful tips to make our stay more enjoyable, a well equipped kitchen, towels and comfortable beds. The parking space was a real bonus as it can be tricky to park in Bembridge!
Having been coming to Bembridge for years we know the village well and love it here - everything is within walking distance, great walks along the beach when the tide is out and we even got to see the lifeboat launch on training night which was a first! We would love to stay again when it is warmer so that we can make use of the lovely garden. Thank you.

Thank you for your lovely review. You are very welcome to stay again and we hope you’ll come back to enjoy a summer bbq in the garden
Superb location, in the heart of the village. Private parking incredibly useful. Owner very flexible on time periods and change over days. Quick response to queries as well. We had an excellent week away.
One thing to note is that the stairs are quite steep (being in a cottage, not a surprise) but the more elderly or very the young might need an eye keeping on them. Property refurb is showing its age in a couple of places - but on the whole, it was excellent. Water pressure good, shower good (again, high bath a struggle for less mobile elderly people maybe). Decent cutlery and glasses/plates etc.
One to visit again some time.

Delightful spot for a lovely break
In a quiet, relatively traffic-free side street with off-road parking for two cars, yet near all amenities, this cottage is perfect for 4 adults or a small family. A short stroll will take you to the village centre, with small shops and restaurants a plenty, while the harbour and beach areas are reached in 15 minutes. The owner has decorated the cottage in a delightful 'coastal' style, with thoughtful extra touches (coolbag for picnics, backpack to take out walking, speaker to play music from iPod etc.), which really set this cottage apart. There is a pretty garden at the back with plenty of seating to catch the afternoon sun. Bembridge is a lovely spot with lots to do - although we explored the island, we were always glad to be back in Bembridge as it has a special charm of its own. This is the sort of cottage you want to return to again and again.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location
The cottage was a lovely place to call home for 5 nights. We stayed as a family of 3 adults and a small child and you could see lots of care had been taken both in the property's appearance but also the smaller touches that are often missed out. Like a high-chair for our daughter, the bbq, the tea, coffee, oil etc you always feel you need to buy in-case they arent already there (+ the wine for the adults!) All-in-all it really was a lovely holiday away. Bembridge is a lovely place too since its quieter than some of the other touristy places on the Isle of Wight and it had a very close-knit family feel to the place.
We would highly recommend this property, the pictures, dont fully do it justice and Marion was quick to answer any queries I had - particularly as this was our first time away with our young daughter, which was very helpful and reassuring!

Thank you so much for your review. We are very pleased that you and your family had a great time at the cottage and loved the location. We would be delighted to welcome you back anytime.
Clean beautifully decorated property in centre of lovely village. Good local produce shops, cafes and gift shops. Can walk to a beach in 10 minutes. Easy access by car to rest of the Island.
Enjoyed the quirky house. The double bed (small)very comfortable mattress. Good linen. The kitchen is small but functional. Equipment limited if cooking for a family.
Pleasant garden with bbq and seating.
Highchair and fitting for stairgate although didn’t actually see a gate.Dog well catered for.
I didn’t ask for the address until the last minute. I should have asked for a contact number as I found I couldn’t open the key safe but the owner was very responsive to messages.

Thanks for your review. I’m very pleased you enjoyed your stay in lovely Bembridge. (The stairgate is kept in the understairs cupboard, when not needed).
My family and I had a lovely few days in this modern and comfortable cottage in Bembridge. Great location as a base to explore the island. Owner helpful and communicative.
Bembridge is a gorgeous village to stay in, by a beautiful stretch of coastline with amazing places to eat and lovely local shops. The house was in the heart of the village and really beautiful and comfy. So a perfect place to stay on the IOW, especially if you are also bringing a dog.
The property was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance of shops pubs and eateries all first class. The harbour ,sandy beaches, and rock pools as well as stunning views of the Solent were all within easy reach.. Parking for large cars and SUVs was very difficult we had to park on the road. The property is not suitable for some disabled people as the stairs are steep and the toilet is on the ground floor. Nebertheless I would recommend it

About the host
Hosted by Marion Curry
We live in Rutland, about as far from the sea as you could possibly be, but we have never lost the dream of having a home where we could walk the dogs along the sand every morning. When our daughter started teaching on the island, we knew this was where we could have such a home and we love it.
Why they chose this property
Drayton cottage allows you to relax as soon as you get there. By being able to leave the car in the drive and start walking or cycling everywhere you notice all the small details of the countryside you are blinded to by the speed of driving.
What makes this property unique
The garden is such a private little sun trap, we often spend days just walking along the coast and returning home to read in the garden, getting active only when it's bbq time!
