The place is fantastic with close access to Volcanoes National Park and a number of restaurants. The host did a great job keeping us informed about volcano activity. Highly recommend a visit.
Such a lovely little cabin in Volcano with a nice small hot tub perfect for 2 and a great fire that lights up with the switch on the wall. We were so comfortable sleeping here, and made breakfast in the kitchen with all you needed. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Volcano!
We had a great experience overall, the cabin is lovely and super private and dark, very clean and thoughtful touches provided throughout. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. The architectural aspect of this home was beautiful, it was very close to the Volcano National Parks and a straight drive to Hilo and a lot of the food places we visited! Overall, had a great stay!
We loved the modern cabin and its amenities. Convenient location only 3 miles from Volcano National Park. Not as secluded as you might think - which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for… Neighbors were noisy at times and you can hear highway traffic. But you also hear frogs and birds! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend and would book again!
We had such an amazing experience staying at this cabin. From the moment we booked, the host was incredibly attentive, responsive, and accommodating — truly going above and beyond to make our stay seamless and comfortable. The cabin itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and exactly as advertised. The photos and listing descriptions were perfectly accurate, but seeing everything in person made us appreciate it even more. Every detail felt intentional — cozy furnishings, thoughtful touches, and a layout that made us feel right at home.It was clean, peaceful, inviting, and the perfect place to relax and recharge. We loved everything about our stay and could not be happier with the experience. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last — already looking forward to the next getaway! Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-hosted escape.
It was great experience staying in this accommodation. It’s isolated, very near to Volcano national park

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
too many cockroaches
Every time i went to bathroom at night i saw i least 2-3 live cockroaches around me in the bathroom and living room. They are big and scary. Considering the price of the room, i do think the owner should do some pest control seriously.

I'm really sorry you had this experience. I wish you would have brought this to my attention. Unfortuantly there are cockroaches in the tropics but this is unusual at the higher elevation. Pest control has come out and this problem has been dealt with.
The photos of this property compliment the real experience but it’s even better in person! Perfect for 2 people who want to explore the local area but also have a private sanctuary to unwind in elegance. The owners/designer thought of every detail allowing you to engage with nature as if you are part of it. We can’t wait to return!
Needed a staycation for a birthday getaway and found this wonderful place. Felt so comfortable and relaxed the entire time and looking forward to another stay.
Jeff's property was a "splurge" for us during our 7 nights on the Big Island, and it was SO worth it!
The place was as modern and immaculate as shown in pictures, and we made use of everything, from the adorable hot tub, to the dryer, to the provided snacks and water in the kitchen, to the fire pit, and the back porch (the covered porch was great because we had two friends in Hawaii at the same time, and this allowed them to come socialize with us and have dinner outside to maintain social distancing during Covid).
We spent 3 days exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and Jeff's place was perfectly located; in just a short 5-10 minute drive, we could grab breakfast or take-out dinner or be in the confines of the park. I had considered staying in the park, but after a long day of hiking, I was so glad that we had our secluded, quiet place to retreat back to.
On top of it all, Jeff is a fabulous host. I was having trouble with my VRBO app, and contacted him through another channel, and he was very responsive and friendly. He even called me to make sure I had gotten one of his messages when (because of the ice storm in Texas) my email was returning emails. He was such an incredible pleasure to work with! Thanks, Jeff, for making our stay so perfect.
I cannot recommend Jeff's place highly enough--it as everything you would want and more, is perfectly located, and he is fabulous to work with!
