About this property

Moose Meadow Vacation Mountain Cabin | Grand Lake, Colorado

Moose Meadow is a mountain cabin on an acre and a half just a block off Highway 34 and just minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park, three beautiful lakes, and the town of Grand Lake. This vacation home is just 40 minutes away from Winter Park Ski Resort and 15 minutes away from Ski Granby Ranch. 25 minutes away you can soak in the Hot Sulphur Springs natural hot springs. The home has a great room that looks out to the Continental Divide giving breathtaking sunrises and alpenglow sunsets. For HOV fans and back country buffs, there is plenty of parking for your toys on the homes property driveway.

Summer offers: Winter Park Ski Resort has an alpine slide, adventure park, and mountain biking. Grand County also offers golfing, boat rentals, boating, rafting, canoeing, fishing, hiking, horse back riding, mountain biking, OHV trails, hot air balloon rides, or just grilling out on the back deck.

Winter offers: Nordic and down hill skiing, tubing, sledding, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and ice fishing.

Other attractions and activities...

1.Rocky Mountain National Park is 5 miles away and a must see adventure. Take a lunch, and spend the day sightseeing, hiking, and cruising.

2. There are three lakes near by: Lake Granby, Shadow Mountain Lake, and Grand Lake. Boat rentals are available at Indian Peaks Marina and in the town of Grand Lake.

3. Whitewater rafting is available in Kremmling (37 miles away): Mad Adventures, 970-726-5290.

4. ATV rentals at Spirit Lake Motor Sports is .3 miles from the house. Make sure to ask about National Forest access information and other trail systems - there are hundreds of miles of trails in Arapaho National forest.

5. Adams Falls is a great family hike located in Grand Lake on the far east side of the lake.

6. The Northern Colorado Water District canal is across highway 34 and just a 5 minute walk from the house - you will see a bridge across the highway. Trails are on either side of the bridge and on either side of the canal. To the left of the bridge is lower and upper trails for biking or hiking. Fishing is allowed in the canal.

7. Pine Beach is 1.5 miles North off of Highway 34 on the right. There are hiking trails, picnic tables, grills and fishing. This is also our favorite spot to play on our canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards because the waters are shallow and the boats can't access this area. Watch out for moose, though - a mother moose and baby is one of the most dangerous animals to interact with in Colorado.

8. Golfing - Enjoy a round of high altitude golf. There are 4 golf courses in Grand County.

Caution: There are commonly moose that travel and visit the yard. Please, do not approach any moose - they can be very dangerous. But, we have large windows throughout the house that allow you to safely view wildlife from the comfort of the home.

Fun in Grand Lake

This was by far the best vrbo experience I've ever had. The house was great - worked so well for our family of 6. Lots of space for kids to seperate from the adults to play. Kitchen was extremely well furnished with everything you can imagine! Very clean and plenty of towels and bedding for all. Comfortable beds too. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone and I'll plan to stay again. Great Fun in Grand Lake!!

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable, beautiful home!

We enjoyed our week at Moose Meadows more than we could imagine . The home was large with lots of personal space but at the same time it felt cozy and warm The home was well set up with everything we needed to prepare meals at home after a busy day in the park. The entrance to the park is only a few minutes away. Can't recommend Moose Meadow highly enough. All this and dog friendly to boot! We hope to have another stay here again...loved it!

Mountain Getaway

This place was IMMACULATELY clean! Great space, really everything we needed to have a great getaway weekend. LOVED the back yard, all the flowers and the bird life! The attention to detail was the best I've seen in a vacation rental. Would definitely recommend to others!

Moose Meadows makes for a great vacation!

The cabin was well maintained, very clean, and well stocked with just about all you'll need for your vacation. We used it as a family reunion with several generations of our family and spent time in the cabin as well as at several outdoor and restaurantsin the area.

Exceeded Expectations

Moose Meadows provided ideal accommodations for the three generations in our family (age range 72-2) who stayed there for 5 days in mid-July. The home is beautifully furnished and the hosts have thought of every detail to make guests comfortable. The home is close to Rocky Mountain National Park which we visited 4 of the 5 days. The views are great and we were treated to a double rainbow centered perfectly over the mountains as we looked out the large windows to the east. The hosts provided excellent communication from the time we booked the property until the day we left. 5 stars +

Family Vacation

This property and home are so well cared for! My family met for a week and had such a wonderful time. They have everything you could need to cook and take care of laundry while there! The only complaint would be the size of the bed in the 3rd bedroom downstairs (it is only a double which my husbandand I realized too late, lol), the giant dip in the mattress in the 2nd bedroom (queen), the hardness of the queen bed upstairs that shares the loft with the futon (which I'm also told was hard as a rock). They have a wonderful bed in the master and a temperpedic pull out couch that were great. The owners were so wonderful and accommodating.

Perfect mountain getaway

Beautiful home in a great location for peace and quiet but close enough to GrandLake and activities. The owners clearly have pride of ownership in the home and the detailed decorations are very nice. Felt very much at home. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our dog and relaxing outside. Even had a visit from a moos eone night.

Wonderful Getaway

The house was perfect. We went to celebrate my Dads's 70th birthday. 6 adults stayed here. There was plenty of space!! We enjoyed hanging out on the patio after days of fishing and playing ladder ball. The kitchen was well stocked. You can't go wrong staying here.

About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I have lived in Grand County for about 30 years. I have worked at the local hospital as a Laboratory Manager and my husband as a contractor. We built our home together with a little help from friends and family. We love this area of Colorado and all that it has to offer in the beautiful majestic mountains.

Why they chose this property

This home is newly Built and uniquely decorated (you got to see the pool table on the ceiling.) with frequent wild life sightings in the meadow and around the house. A large acre and a half allows for plenty of space and privacy.

What makes this property unique

A fenced in back yard, a two car garage and a large parking area for your boat or ATV's.
A Bar-B-Q gill on the back deck.
