An idyllic rural cottage retreat. Perfect location for peace and quiet with hill walks from the door. Beautiful drives through country lanes and the hills to Llandrindod Wells and Hay on Wye. We managed with our little Corsa, just need to get familiar with your gear changes! We have two very small dogs and they were secure in the garden, no escape routes. The pub opposite is open seasonally, we visited for a lovely Sunday roast dinner, but it was closed on the Wednesday, we visited in mid-March and were advised it officially opened in two weeks. Would advise ringing to check ahead of time. There were plenty of other options in nearby Llandrindod and Hay. Wendy was lovely and welcoming, on hand if you needed anything and very quickly responding to texts, but gave complete privacy for our holiday. The house is a lovely character property and we particularly enjoyed the sun room with views of the garden, the open plan kitchen space and the separate cosy lounge with log burner. Would recommend!
We stayed at The Gatehouse for a few nights over New Years and had an excellent time. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the owner, Wendy, was very helpful throughout our stay. Happily recommend.
