About this property

Portobello a unique a peaceful retreat in Double Cove (boat access only)

Portobello is nestled in amongst the native bush with views to die for. An easy 30 meter walk to the bach results in unimpeded views down the bay. The refurbished bach is well appointed with an oven, cook top and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, the first with a Queen size bed and the second with room has two singles.

The deck which is accessed off the lounge is a great spot to spend those sunny afternoons and balmy evenings. Relax on the loungers whilst waiting on the BBQer to do his/her thing.

An early morning kayak down the bay to feed the fish (Double Cove is a fish reserve) may take your fancy. Alternatively you may prefer to take a dip off the dock or just take in the variety of abundant marine life including the resident Sting Rays.

Double Coves location offers easy access back into Picton for supplies or a trip round the corner to Lochmara Lodge for lunch.

If you dont own your own boat then its not a problem, Picton based water taxis can drop you to our dock.

A truly stunning spot! We had the most wonderful time at Double Cove! The Bach is nestled in the bush, you can hardly spot it when you first get there by boat. Taking the short steep path from the jetty to the house you get to enjoy the most amazing views over the Sounds and a cosy, cute and comfy little Bach that has got everything you need for a very relaxing and special time! The hosts Jane and Richard are such warmhearted, generous, helpful and lovely people! They are living in their new house as next door neighbours if you need them, you won’t see or hear them though if you want your privacy! We really enjoyed talking to them and got shown a really amazing bush walk that starts right at the top of the property and depending on how long you are keen on walking you could even make it to the Queen Charlotte track after a couple of hours! Our children spent hours on the kayak, we went snorkelling and swimming from the private jetty or just relaxed in the sun on the deck and enjoyed the views and peaceful atmosphere!Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!
