About this property
Breathtaking Sunrise-Sunset Views From Waterfront Home with Elevator
Enjoy stunning sunrise and sunset views in this home that sits right on the water in a gated community with an associated marina, community pool (open Memorial Day through Labor Day), and tennis court. The guarded beach is a 2 min drive or ~10 min walk along a waterside path that leads directly to a family friendly stretch of shore. Teens can safely walk to the beach and get a head start on soaking up the sun without crossing a road. Water views from almost every room!
Bedrooms are spacious with generous windows and water views. King size beds in 4 rooms make for extra comfortable sleeping arrangements. No tossing and turning on uncomfortable mattresses - these are premium mattresses. This house is truly a home away from home. (Please read note at the end about linens as they are not included.)
Sitting in the open living room and kitchen, you can watch the boats and the serenity of the river as it spills into the ocean. The essentially panoramic windows and waterfront location give the impression of being on a cruise ship (without the sea sickness).
All new appliances in the kitchen and an elevator can help you bring groceries up or provide access for those with mobility issues. Spacious deck for grilling and enjoying waterfront meals. The 4 burner grill is great for cooking up burgers.
Smart TVs in living room and 2 other bedrooms. Bunk bed room has a small fridge and a sleeper sofa that offers queen size mattress.
Rinse off the sand with a private, outdoor shower. We've provided some beach toys, chairs, and gear for your convenience.
The beach is walkable distance (eat at Big Chill Beach Club) though folks with beach gear will likely want to drive. There's public parking there for small daily fee. Outdoor shower to wash off the sand. Sit on the rocks in the backyard and fish for dinner. The neighborhood is quiet but just a few minutes away from the Bethany Beach boardwalk with shops and restaurants or go north to Rehoboth.
There's a community pool and tennis court just a few hundred feet from the house. Explore Delaware Seashore State Park (on either side of the Indian River inlet) for fishing, amazing views, boat charters, kayaking. https://bigchillbeachclub.com/experience/delaware-seashore-state-park/
Upstairs - Kitchen, Living Room, King bedroom Middle Floor- 3 king bedrooms, 1 Queen Bedroom, 1 twin bunk bed room with queen sleeper sofa, laundry room Lower - Entry
Please note, linens are NOT included but the house comes with blankets/pillows. Gale Force is a great local company to use or guests are welcome to bring their own.

Lovely house. Great views, great location. Comfortable rooms very clean. However, two smoke detectors chirping as we entered, no propane for the bar Que, the tv in main room non-functional and, with only two working TVs in bedrooms, obvious wear and tear stained carpets, missing cabinet pulls, towel rods pulled off wall, broken shades. House needs TLC after a year of rentals. We arrived to serious toilet leak which the host took care of immediately. These things seem to be problems with management company.
This was one of the most memorable VRBO stays I have had! The views were incredible! The beds were super comfortable. The location was fantastic. The elevator allowed me to bring my wheelchair-bound mom on a vacation for the first time in 3 years! So grateful for this spot!!
The views were amazing! The house itself was great. Very spacious and the elevator is very convenient for ones that can't do the stairs. It's just the washer and dryer was both out of order, the propane for the grill was empty.
Agree with other reviews that property could use some basic TLC (lots of bulbs out) but it was clean and the property manager was responsive to questions and concerns. Lots of space and wonderful views. Would highly recommend.
The property was clean, inviting, with one of the most beautiful views of any rentals I’ve had. We got to watch dolphins from the living room, swim up the Indian river and back down again in the morning. The showers were great. The beds were comfortable. it simply was the perfect location for a multi generational family excursion.
This house is located directly on the water's edge making you feel like you are on a boat! The boats passing by provide great entertainment. Awesome sunset views in the evening. Fantastic panoramic views of the water.
Loved our short vacation here. I couldn’t have asked for a better view than this, the house is also located in a nice gated quiet community. Property Manager is extremely responsive and nice. If I were to make any suggestion to the property management, I would recommend to update the living room television to a smart at least 65 in tv.
Overall, a great place to stay. Highly recommending.
Us Wild, Wonderful West Virginia Women stayed 4 glorious nights here and what a time we had. We all just loved the house and views. I mostly wanted to see the sun rise and set and boy did it not disappoint. Just can’t say enough or find the right words to describe the place.
We would definitely stay here again. The place was plenty big, had great mattresses, plenty of kitchen ware and was just perfect.
Thank you so much.
We enjoyed the 360 deg views of the water, sunrise and sunset. The house was well equipped and large enough that all had personal time when needed. Even so, we enjoyed much family time together. The elevator was great for the elders in their 80s. There was ample baby gear for our 10 month old. The beach was close and enjoyed by all. This was our second year at the hone. It is a great place to reconnect with family, rest and rejuvenate!
This house was gorgeous and the location was amazing. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the comfort of the home. Be warned that you have to travel 5 miles south of the house to get the keys at a realty office. When we got there, two out of three ladies we spoke to didn’t know what we were talking about. Once we got the keys though, everything was good. House was clean, plenty of space to hangout. The bedroom layout and bathrooms were perfect for our large group. 10/10 would recommend
Beautiful house and incredible view
Upholstered furniture dirty and stained
A lot of the blinds did not work
TV’s no instructions or channel guides
Not handicap accessible. No grab bars or hand held shower heads
The views in this home are amazing. It has 270 degree views of the water so it really has the feel of being on a cruise ship or house boat. The proximity to the beach is certainly walkable, but like other reviewers said, probably too far to lug a bunch of beach gear unless you had wagons. The house was clean for the most part and decently stocked with necessities. The problems with the home were with the number of things that were in need of repair. Several blinds were broken, a couple of the TVs or remotes were not operating correctly, the garbage disposal was broken, the lights in the foyer were out, and most importantly the front door would not lock from the outside. We only stayed a few days so none of these issues impacted our stay too much but if we were there longer they certainly would have. Some of these issues were mentioned in earlier reviews so it was disappointing these things were not previously fixed. But overall it was a pleasant stay and we would definitely consider staying here again.
Met all our expectations and then some for an off-season get-together
Had a fantastic time getting together with friends from all up and down the East Coast. Enough room for all 11 of us. Great location with views that certainly lived up to the pictures and description. While off-season and a bit cold, we enjoyed walking to the beach, where we saw many porpoises and a few surfers, collected some shells, and flew kites. Sunrises were gorgeous, and had lots of good food and craft brewery visits in between intensive rounds of tabletop boardgaming. A few minor issues with the property (tended to get hot upstairs even with heat off, if the heat was turned on on the lower floor; issues with two of the toilets, which the owner sent plumbers over to fix the next day - thanks Nadia!; deck door lock was broken off). Biggest issue was with key pickup: the real estate office was closed, no keys were in the designated box, and no-one responded to calls to the main number or any of the three listed emergency numbers. Fortunately we were able to reach the owner/manager by email and she was on it immediately and got someone to come to the office and provide us with the keys. The rest went smoothly.

Good but...
This is a beautiful home and the elevator & views were the best part! My dad walks with a cane and he and my mom could never have walked the stairs, it was a life saver. A box of supplies was left on the counter (garbage bags, coffee grounds, etc.). Found the coffee filters inside a cereal bowl, after much searching. Mattresses had urine stains and were covered up with blankets or not at all. They would have benefitted from waterproof mattress covers to protect the mattresses which can easily and reasonably, be replaced. Living & dining room furniture has not been cleaned in forever and was stained. Door thresholds everywhere are a trip hazard but that seems to be the norm throughout the beach towns. The 2nd floor with the bedrooms was too warm and the a/c seemed to be locked to not go below 72 which is too warm for us to sleep. Most of the doors need to be adjusted because they won't stay open on their own. Cleaning crew left a bucket & mop behind the elevator door. The bed on the upper floor looked like someone had slept on it. The living and dining room furniture is not comfortable and the living room furniture is impossible for older people to get up and down from. My dad could not sit on the couch nor the chairs. Being that this VRBO is for sale, I'm sure the owner doesn't want to put any more money into it than they have to, which is understandable. All in all though, we had a good stay based on the views and elevator. Left it clean & elevator on 3rd floor as instructed

Disappointing stay
For a nearly $12k rental, I expected a lot more than we received. We stayed here summer 2022 and the house was everything we wanted, this year was not that. Upon arriving, the floors on main floor were filthy and sandy. Several shelves in fridge were broken, no mop or bucket to clean up messes. Shelves in pantry were broken, most closet shelves in bedrooms were broken. Blinds in almost every bedroom were not properly working, mini fridge was leaking onto floor. Cable/internet barely worked the entire week. TVs in bedrooms were not compatible/too old to work with Roku provided. Chairs on deck were worn and completely rusted, not suitable for sitting. Outside shower did not work, master bathroom shower fan and light were not working, several bathrooms had lights out/fans not working. Locks on most bedrooms doors did not work. Property managers were kind and attempted to fix most issues but some could not be fixed during our stay. They worked with us as best they could.
This house needs major maintenance.
The house does have great views of water, the AC ,elevator and hot water all worked well throughout the week. Hope this house gets the TLC it deserves at some point.
The view from this house can not be oversold. The pictures can't really capture how great it is. The general set up of the home was great for our family Thanksgiving. The upstairs is all open common space- There were 10 of us and we never felt cramped at all. The bedrooms are pretty large with very comfortable beds. While there were small issues with the upkeep of the house, there was nothing that came close to outweighing the positive aspects of this rental. Our older folks have mobility issues and the elevator was very helpful. The property is on the edge of a beautiful state park. Highly recommended.
House needs a lot of attention to handle weekly renters.
The house upon entering, was not cleaned well. The furniture is dated, and there were very few supplies, including clean bedding. We had to order sheets and towels from a local rental agency, as soon as we arrived. It seemed unlikely that the blankets or bed covers have been cleaned between renters. The kitchen is not well stocked or organized as far as utensils, etc. The dishwasher did not work well, and there was a leak under the kitchen sink ( The rental agency sent a plumber, and he said he couldn’t fix it ) ?? The window blinds in one of the rooms did not work, and we had to install a screen door which lead out to the deck, in order to get some fresh air into the house, which smelled a bit musty. Also, this house is right next to a campground / State park. You can walk to the beach ( which is also heavily used by the campers ), but if you want to bring any chairs, etc, you will need to drive. The tennis court for the neighborhood, was not well maintained, and the community pool was small. The home owner left no instructions as far as garbage collection days ( or anything for that matter ), and when we arrived the cans were full. We must have missed the garbage day, too, and we unfortunately had to leave overflowing cans for the next renter. The only positive was the view from the house. We spent most of our time on the deck, but if the wind shifted the wrong way, it was all about the mosquitos. The road into the neighborhood flooded, a few of the nights, making it challenging to walk (or even drive into / out of the neighborhood ) in the evening. Overall, I don’t think the homeowner has prepared the house well for weekly renters, and the house is starting to show the wear and tear of not being properly maintained for that use.
This was the perfect location for us since we usually spend time going to Bethany, Dewey and Rehoboth. Loved having the beach and pool so close and you can’t beat the views. My parents appreciated the elevator.
