On Maui's sunny south shore, is the romantic Honu’ea cottage, where quiet peaceful living is a way of life. Honu'ea (Hawksbill Turtle) is named after the endangered turtles that come and nest on the sandy shores in front of the property. Honu’ea is perfect for honeymooners or couples just wanting a unique tranquil getaway. The cottage is located on an acre of landscaped grounds with an unobstructed beachfront view of the Pacific Ocean. Just steps from the front door you can take long walks on miles of uncrowded sandy beach.

Honu’ea is a one bedroom, one bath Hawaiian style cottage. The cottage is located on the second story with its own private entrance. This cottage has a great open floor plan that allows for ocean views from almost every room. The master bedroom includes a king size bed, ample walk in closet for clothes and luggage, and a great view of the landscaped yard and ocean. The living space has an inviting sitting area with a relaxing sofa and chair and flat screen tv/dvd. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for all your cooking needs. The cottage also has an amazing beachfront lanai with outdoor seating and BBQ. For the really hot Maui summer days the cottage has a central air conditioning unit.

The cottage is centrally located so you’re only a short walk away from great local restaurants, grocery stores, and shops. The neighborhood is walkable and local bus service is available.

What a wonderful place! It is very cute and just the right size. It's as close as you can get to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. We watched basking sea turtles come in to the beach to sleep and gazed at a terrific night sky. The hosts are friendly and easy going. We loved our stay and would definitely come again.

Our stay at Honu’ea Cottage was so wonderful! We loved the location as it was close to so many restaurants and activities. The cottage was perfect for 2 people and we enjoyed the view to the ocean from the lanai and from the inside. There was everything we needed for our stay. Quiet and peaceful space to enjoy our vacation. Amber, the host, was exceptional with communication before and throughout our stay. Great recommendations for places to eat! This was our 2nd stay at the Cottage, great location. Love walking through the path in the backyard to see the turtles and walk the beach each morning. Comfortable king size bed, full kitchen with a nice mixture of spices and condiments. Amber is so easy to contact for any questions and was very responsive to us during one of the storms. Easy to get around the island from here - very centrally located.

This was our second stay here. It is a great location to access shops, restaurants and the rest of the island. The VRBO has everything you need to enjoy the week. A quick walk through backyard and you are on a sandy beach, where turtles come to rest at night. We will stay here again when we are on Maui.

We loved our stay. The sunset from the porch thru the palm trees over the narrow beach were to die for. We could leave the slider open with just the screen and listen to the surf. Waking up to that is hard to beat. Two blocks away is an ordinary shopping district that has what you need. After driving thru other areas along that coast can’t imagine a more comfortable place for a couple to stay.

Quiet and private

We had a wonderful time in this private little cottage. Good location, with shops and restaurants nearby. Great ocean views. Btw, the Maui Aquarium is a great stop for an afternoon and lunch in the outdoor restaurant was very good.
