We believe in the Malama Hawaii program where visitors are respected as Ohana "family" and they in turn respect the aina (place) and it's people as Ohana.
The MauiJOY 1Bedroom/1Bathroom Guest Suite is very Private area at the far end of the MauiJOY Villa on .5 Acre Private Estate.
Rent only the 1B/1B or Upgrade to the 2B/2B MauiJOY Villa (See Property 3864466)
Only one party at a time will be here so you will have the pool to yourselves.
When you stay in the MauiJOY Guest Suite, you park in the front main driveway and walk along your own Private Garden path that has motion lighting to the entrance located off the swimming pool lanai.
You enter your own private Resort with fantastic ocean views from the West Maui Mountains, across the ocean to the islands of Lanai'i, Kahoolawe, Molokini Crater and up through undeveloped land to Haleakala.
We invite you to bring your water bottles and use our filtered water instead of buying plastic water bottles.
There is a king sized bed with luxury linens in a large bedroom, a bathroom with shower/bath, washer/dryer, 40' Smart Flat Screen TV, free movies, premium linens, luxury bathrobes, beach chairs/towels and FREE hi-speed Wifi, netflix and Amazon Prime Pandora, HULU provided for our guests.

Many times we have guests in the 1B/1B with two small children and that seems to work out well. We can add a full baby crib, a single cot.

We have a security fencing we can install to secure the swimming pool area, so let us know, as we love kids and want them to be safe. We have beachtoys, umbrellas, floats, noodles, and lots of books, a variety of card games, and toys.

There are beautiful ocean views from the living and dining area. Sit by your private pool, enjoy your morning coffee, and watch the whales. This has been a favorite for families with younger children who can swim while closely monitored, and saves money too.

Located above Wailea in Maui Meadows at it's Southern border, adjacent to thousands of undeveloped acres, the MauiJOY Villa Guest Suite has breathtaking views of the ocean and night skies.
Lush tropical landscaping affords property privacy. The lower garden, complete with a Pavillion for ping-pong or set up the massage table as it is so peaceful with no buildings, only nature and ocean views, birds chirping....and is a perfect meditation or yoga spot.
There are also various organic fruit trees with Mango, Papaya, Guava, Strawberry Guava, Tangerines, Coconuts, Oranges and Passion fruit vines for your morning smoothies.
And now there is a wonderful large outdoor shower next to the banana trees to wash off after the beach or being in the pool area.


There are at least 25 love birds that visit our feeder along with finch, sparrow, and two species of cardinals, to name a few. If you enjoy bird watching, this is a good spot for that too. In fact, Uuku & Pua, hand raised love birds who fly freely in our gardens, may even stop by to say 'aloha'. If you’re lucky, there’ll be a bit of whale activity to watch from the lanai (December through April)! (We have binoculars, but you may want to bring your own.)

Many house guest have called this 'Heaven on Earth' and we are so grateful to be here on Maui No Ka Oi. We, (MauiJOY and staff) invite you to spend your time with us to relax, rejuvenate, and enjoy our sanctuary.

Aloha Guests, We are located in a private residential area that is not hotel zoned and licensed by the County of Maui to do rentals providing we abide by their strict rules. Quiet Hours are from 9PM to 8AM during which time noise from the home shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with our residential area. Amplified sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries is prohibited. Vehicles shall be parked in the designated on site parking area and shall not be parked on the street. We love children however, no children in the pool prior to 8AM due to the noise restriction. We are lucky as both our uphill and downhill neighbors live in other states and are here infrequently. The lower boundary of the property is vacant land so there is little chance that anyone will be disturbed in anyway. I thought it best to let you know the Rules we have to operate under and hope you will come here, enjoy and have FUN. I didn't have this in my House Rules before but after having a quarreling/fighting couple here recently, I need to say, if you came to paradise to fight with each other, you will be evicted immediately with NO refund. Oh, one more thing, no smoking cigars or cigarettes please. If you must smoke occasionally , please use the lower garden area for that purpose with a "sand can" for the butts. My wife and I stayed for 3 weeks and had a fantastic time. This property has absolutely amazing views! We spent most mornings and evenings on the lanai watching the sunrise over Haleakala and sunset over Molokini. I enjoyed yoga by the pool. We had everything we needed for a great stay - beach chairs and umbrellas ready to go, kitchen supplies, and even some starter snacks. The whole neighborhood is extremely quiet and peaceful, and there were tons of great birds to listen to and watch. Teri was a great host who provided everything we need and gave us plenty of privacy during our stay. Would love to return!

This property is amazing! The backyard, pool, and outdoor shower are the stars of the property. 100% privacy day and night in the backyard. The home itself is very nice as well. Nice size rooms with lots of space and the AC works great. Wi-Fi worked with no issues and internet TV had a lot of options. Property is close to all south Maui beaches. Property is also close to Kihei which has a lot to do. Overall my wife and I loved staying here and would definitely stay here again!

We had a very nice stay. The pool area was comfortable and a fantastic place to end each day watching the sunset. The location is perfect and just minutes away from several beaches as well as everything in the Wailea/Kihei area. We loved using the outdoor shower. Unfortunately we didn't use the pool due to the cool water temp combined with the relatively cool weather we had while visiting (mainly in the mornings and evenings). I'm sure it's great to cool off in when it's really warm, but our personal preference is a heated pool. The King size bed was comfortable and kitchen/living room had everything we needed. As far as privacy I'd say it's about 80% there. I don't mean that to sound overly critical, it's just that you are sharing a house with the host (Teri) when you stay there (and that should be of no surprise to anyone as it's stated in VRBO). She respects your privacy to be sure, but there is just a wall, door or sliding glass door separating you so you will hear each other just as you would when staying at anyone's house. I still think it's worthy of 5 stars though, just for the relaxing nature of the back yard and pool area alone and Teri has everything there that you need for an enjoyable stay on the island. We will miss the sunsets for sure.

Wonderful Time in Wailea

We had a great time in Wailea and this property was perfect for our stay. Teri was the perfect host giving us many good pointers on where to eat, beaches to visit, etc. The property was convenient to everything, yet away from the bustle of the big resorts. The pool and the privacy were great benefits of the property and we highly recommend it. If we return to Maui, this is exactly where we would want to stay again!

A Perfect Paradise!

Excellent property, excellent host. We intended to go to Maui and do the normal activities and beach things, but ended up mostly just staying at the property, enjoying the beautiful pool and view! Great location and experience

We were here to celebrate my 50th and we wanted a relaxed, private space where we could unwind and take in all that Maui offers. Happy to say this place was perfect. Teri welcomed us and was available throughout the stay but also gave us our privacy. The pool and view from the Lanai were perfect and great restaurants and beaches were easily accessible minutes from the house. If you’re looking for a private, relaxed get away in Maui, this is the place to stay.

Unbelievable property. The view and the pool is even better than the pictures. The owner is on the property but gave us all the privacy we wanted-we never really ever saw her. Every morning and sunset was an experience. Would CERTAINLY recommend! Way better than a resort.

Absolutely stunning property. Private pool, love birds and other birds galore. Property is as listed. Watch the whales from the pool deck. We hung out at the pool all the time. Totally private. Terri was wonderful to work with. She kept in touch during our stay. She also stocked our suite with bananas, mango and other treats. The outside shower is to die for.

Great location and view! Private pool is so nice and enjoyable. It is so wonderful that we did a lot less running around the island and spent a lot more time at the rental. Plenty of room inside the rental house and a comfortable bed. Lounging around the pool and sunbathing for hours and then jump in the pool to cool off. Pretty close to perfect!

We had an amazing time staying at Teri's property... the photos online don't quite do it justice. We enjoyed the pool and amazing sunsets, as well as being closely situated to beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants. Wonderful tropical paradise

My wife and I loved our stay at MauiJoy. You are surrounded by tropical plants, flowers, banana and coconut trees, and have a gorgeous view. It is super private and whisper quiet. Lots of little extras like a delicious Maui Gold pineapple in the fridge, local tropical granola for breakfast, and super soft sheets on the bed. Very convenient to Wailea and Kihei. We will return.

Everything here is perfect! The views are incredible every second of the day! The pool area is wonderful. Beautiful beaches very close by. Teri is awesome. She even gave us fresh bananas from her tree and had some goodies for us upon arrival. I can’t say enough about our stay here ! Perfect place to be with loved ones during covid. Felt so safe! Quiet and private

Great place to stay if you are looking for privacy and some quiet away from the resort areas. It was great to have a private pool to use. This property is a few minutes away from multiple beaches, but close enough that the drive wasn't bad. Also it is within a 5-10 minute drive of many restaurants. Be aware that this is Hawaii and you will see insects and lizards running around! We had one issue with the coffee maker and Teri took care of it right away, you couldn't ask for more from a host.

This was our fifth time in Maui and we wanted to try something new and different instead of a condo complex. What a great decision and wonderful time at the MauiJOY! So relaxing to have our own lovely pool and lanai and the wide open views. The hospitality was great and Teri was always helpful and fun to be with. Lovely Respite

We really enjoyed our time at Maui Joy. Our host was delightful and took care of everything we needed. Her property is an oasis with lots of privacy and beautiful sunset views. One of the few places where the photos did not exaggerate the size of the unit! It is actually bigger than it looks in the pictures. We spent most of our nights BBQing dinner and eating outside watching the sun set. Wonderful! It was fun walking the neighborhood and seeing a different Maui from the hotels and condos down below.

I've never had such an amazing view! A bit pricey but a unique property. Roomier than i anticipated. Cooked alot with no problem without an oven. Landlady is around alot which is great when you need something but not 100% private. Only complaint was a bed that sagged badly.

Why they chose this property

I purchased this home because of it's ocean views, large pool, location away from the tourist resorts, and for it's privacy yet close enough to get to it all (Resorts, golf, restaurants, shopping including the best beaches in the world) in about 3-5 minutes by car.
The views are probably the best in the area as the location is on the edge of the neighborhood with thousands of acres of vacant land adjacent to the lower gardens.
It's quiet, with peaceful tranquility and neighbors who are use to this peace and quiet and Maui County noise ordinances are very strict. No noise after 9PM to 8AM.

What makes this property unique

Would you like to pamper yourselves with a private chef, massages poolside, aromatherapy, 10-day detoxing, private consierge services?
Happy to arrange for a private boat (whale watch), concert tickets and will do our best to help to create the vacation you have painted in your mind and heart.
You may not want to leave the MauiJOY Guest Suite as the large swimming pool overlooks the vast ocean from the West Maui Mountains, across to the island of Lana'i, Molokini Crater, Kahoolawe and up to Haleakala.
There are few street lights in this area providing the most amazing views of the vast night sky. The views of the Milky Way are brilliant! I use my " Sky Guide" app as we can see and learn so much about our universe.
The full moon reflecting in the pool provides romantic lighting while the fragrant flowers fill the air with their perfume. Yes, this is paradise and it can be yours.
