Phil was super welcoming, accommodating and communicative - reached out to me proactively and also offered additional accommodations out of thoughtfulness. The cabin is cozy and spacious at the same time :). There were 4 adults and 3 kids and we were all comfortable! Minutes to Mt Sunapee was amazing for our skiing. I highly recommend staying here!
This is a charming cottage steps from the lake and minutes to the mountain. Phil is hospitable and communicative ensuring we had everything we needed. We'll certainly be back.
After a harrowing attempt to get through Vermont's flooding, my family was so grateful to find this place to stay at the end of our long day.
The property is lovingly cared-for, thoughtfully appointed, clean, and comfortable. Phil is a welcoming and communicative host. We were appreciative of the location, which is within easy walking distance of ice cream, the harbor, and a restaurant. We'll gladly book again!

for vacation only
Our previous reservations were cancelled and we found this as a quick alternative. This was not a vacation for us as we needed to work while away. Cell service non-existent. Wifi / internet was spotty.
Front steps, etc. hadn't been swept since winter ( it appeared), and carpenter ants were everywhere inside the home.. bathroom door squeaked loudly, and water pressure was much to be desired. If you're staying for vacation and using it to enjoy the surrounding area, it's an average accommodation at best. Great if you have young children as the lake is right there, and ice cream stand within walking distance.

Hi Peter,
I'm glad you had the chance to stay at our house and thought it was a good location for kids. I am sorry to hear you had some issues during your stay.
As I mentioned in my email, there is no cell service in the house and you do need to connect your phone through wifi, which is the same for the other houses on that street. It's a bad cell area. I do work up there quite often and didn't have issues with the wifi, but maybe I need to have it checked out by the internet company. I do agree, the water pressure was bad when I went up after you left. I was quite surprised. I had tried new water filters but went back to the other brand when I saw how low the water pressure was coming out. I apologize that it was that bad. I didn't see any ants when I was there last, which was just a week before you were there, but I will look when I return this weekend. In regards to the stairs, they are right under a lot of trees, so they do require to be broomed quite often. As for the bathroom door squeak, that is an easy fix and I will add some WD-40 to the bathroom door this weekend. I hadn't noticed it.
We do continue to make updates and improvements on the house, even since you left 2 weeks ago we have pulled up the rugs in the main living room/dining area. That whole area will be done over within the next week. We had just replaced the floors in the second living room, we have updated the kitchen, and also two of the bedrooms. We are getting there.
Thank you again for staying at our location and do appreciate the feedback on areas where we can improve.

My family stayed at this property over the Memorial Day long weekend. The property is only a few minutes away from a small ( 5 meters long) public beach with crystal clear water, 10 minutes from the big public beach and the ski resort. Location-wise, it's great. Our hosts were very helpful in their suggestions for boating and beaches. They were also very responsive to my questions.
The property is a charming old house. The hosts can improve the property by cleaning the carpet and the toilet. Families with small children might have a bit of a problem with the shower, as the showerhead is fixed on the wall. You would have to hold the kid up while giving him a shower so that the kid won't freak out because of the water in his face like small children often do.
Overall, our family had a great time in this historical house and would recommend this property, especially for adult visitors.

Hi Lian,
Thank you for the feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. It did sound like you had a nice time.
In regards to the carpet and toilet, both are cleaned before your stay. I will admit, the carpet is old but clean. We are in the process of updating everything, including the carpets. We have only owned the house for 8 months (been in my wife's family for 50 years), but we are hard at work. The same carpet was in the second living room, but I just replaced that with the wood floor you see now. I plan on getting to the other carpet in the next couple of months. The bathroom is fairly new. The challenge with the toilet is the well water, on occasion, the minerals and sentiment sit in the toilet if not used for a few days. and can give it an off-color.
I will certainly look into your feedback about the shower head. I hadn't even thought of that, but that is an easy fix and do appreciate the idea.
Thank you again for your stay. I hope to hear from you again.
Thanks,
Phil
I'll start with Phil, the host. Phil was excellent to work with. He gave me so much information beforehand about the operational aspect of the property and what needed to done when we got there it made our stay a breeze. He was very communicative, friendly and helpful. Onto the house, Don't expect a fancy boujey inside or outside. What you get is an updated, nicely decorated, clean, super comfortable and cozy vacation home. We had everything we needed and more. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more! if I get back up that is where i will stay. Thank you so much Phil!
I went here with my family for some work I had to do in the area. I loved the house and so did my teenage girls. None of us had any complaints. Phil was great, he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and gave us tons of information on things to do in the area and places to eat. We were there during a heat wave and Phil was concerned that the house would be to hot so he came by and installed an air conditioning unit for us. He truly went above and beyond. The WiFi was excellent, good water pressure, and no bugs inside the house. I highly recommend this house, if I am in the area I will definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay here very much! The house had plenty of room, good amenities, a great location, and the hosts were very good with communicating. We were there to ski at Mt Sunapee which was less than 5 min away and perfect. There was also a great restaurant a short distance away from the house that we enjoyed. I think in the summer this would be a beautiful spot to enjoy the lake and surrounding mountains.
