Great house in the woods!

Loved Tami’s spot. Felt like we were in the wilderness, surrounded by trees, water, and the stars. The house is super comfy and cozy. Very conveniently located for day trips all over Maine.

Wonderful place!

We had a wonderful family vacation here! It was a beautiful location, remote but a short drive to lots of fun activities! The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process! I loved that she reached out before hand and made sure we were all set! My kids loved the loft area - it was like their own little club house!

Great stay/getaway during Bates graduation!

House was comfortable, well-equipped and in a beautiful setting. It’s 25min from Bates college, making it easy to get to grad events. Wish we could start every day with coffee on the huge wraparound porch - sun streaming through trees, birds chirping. Owners were welcoming and communication was excellent. Would definitely return if in the area.

Stay in Maine for 70.3 Iron Man

I stayed at Tami's place in Bowdoin Maine for my 30th birthday where I was competing in the Iron Many 70.3 Maine. My boyfriend, dog and a few family members came up for the weekend to celebrate and cheer me on. The location was perfect as the bike route came all the way out to Bowdoin for miles 30-40 and I was able to test ride some of the course Saturday with my dad. The house was perfect for the 7 of us and they have a beautiful lot of land. We enjoyed the stay and really loved the screened in porch. We spent 95% of our time there just relaxing, reading and hanging out!

Review of Granite House

We loved the seclusion of the property and it was a cozy house. However, there were a couple of downsides, like the cleanliness of the house. When we arrived it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, with old bits of food dried up on the kitchen floors and the bathroom was dirty especially the bathtub. Thankfully my girlfriend is a professional cleaner so she was able to clean the whole place as soon as we arrived. Besides the cleanliness there were a couple of minor things like the tv in the living room cuts out every 5-10 mins. It cuts out for a brief 10 seconds and turns back on right away. The beds were very uncomfortable and there wasn’t any shampoo or body wash like it was advertised on vrbo under the amenities for the property. But overall the location was perfect and the house was kind of cozy.

Granite House was lovely

The first thing we noticed as we pulled off the dirt road onto the Granite House property was the scent of thousands of lilac blooms on the bushes that surround the property. It's wonderful, and almost other-worldly. Tammy, our host, communicated regularly and clearly prior to our arrival, and getting into the rustic but beautifully updated home was a snap. Modern kitchen, many comfortable seating areas for conversation, a 3-season porch, a gently-flowing granite waterfall INSIDE one of the seating areas, comfortable beds with pristine linens, cool air flowing throughout the home, all made for a lovely stay for me and my family. The house is remote, so not walkable to anything like restaurants or shops, but the drives to Bowdoin or Lewiston (for the Bates graduation) were scenic, and took us through beautiful farmlands and quaint Maine towns. We'll be back. J
