We spent a long weekend enjoying the spectacular views and beautiful home. After a day of hiking and seeing north shore scenery, the space was ideal for conversation and games in addition to dining and relaxing.This was our second time visiting, as the first was a winter ski trip a few years ago. This location is an exceptional retreat experience! We hope to return again, maybe to experience all the seasons.

A beautiful home with an exceptional view of the lake! All was very clean & comfortable with helpful information for renters. Both host & housekeeper were available for communication & as helpful as anyone could ask for. We had a wonderful stay which was a relaxing treat!

Beautiful property with a great view from the front room. The place was very clean, and labeled well. The steam shower & whirlpool tub - really nice!! Location is great - about 20 minutes from Grand Marais & plenty of places nearby for hiking.

This property is amazing. The North Shore and Lake Speier have my heart and I’ve been there a lot. But experiencing this Home gave me even a different vibes than ever before. It is stunning. Architecturally it’s also an incredible 80s modern home. Want to be experienced. The natural light and the panoramic views of the lake just make it feel like you don’t wanna leave, even though you know you have to because you need to see all the beauty of the area. But you look forward to getting back. Kittie the host is an amazing woman. I will be back, of course, to the north show because it has my heart, but I will also be back to this property. I highly recommend!

Beautiful property with a beautiful view! We went with another couple and appreciated 2 seperate needs with their own bath and door to close off for complete privacy. Very quiet. We used the bike path with e bikes, went to Grand Marais and enjoyed the fire pit. But the view was the highlight of the trip

Wow! This place is amazing! From the moment you walk in you instantly feel like you’re in another world with the breathtaking view. The house was very clean and the house book was very informative. The host, Kittie, was excellent at communicating and giving directions. A bonus…you can lay on the couch at night and star gaze through the ceiling. Highly recommend this listing and we are already planning on coming again.

Beautiful jewel box of a cabin on a cliff above the greatest lake in the world. The windows are everywhere, giving great views. I literally watched a bald eagle fly past the home while taking a shower in the master bathroom. The next day, a hummingbird. We grilled two nights on the gas grill. The only downside that I can think of is there is no access to the lake shore, so if you are looking for that, don’t rent this one. But it was fun to be up high on a cliff with good views of the lake.Kittie, the owner, is very engaged and easy to communicate with, super helpful. We would stay here again. Close to the bike trail (end of the driveway), Lutsen, Tofte, State Parks, Grand Marias, and the Superior Hiking Trail. Make sure to take a hike up the Oberg Mountain loop!

We woke up to the most beautiful sunrise over Lake Superior. House was exactly as described. Our only regret was that our stay got cut short due to a big storm that prompted us to leave a day early.

The Horizon House is LOVELY. It’s a serene setting; the home is clean and well maintained. The views are simply gorgeous. Lake Superior, wowzer, it is beautiful. My husband and I opted not to ski Lutsen, my kids and their friends skied and snowboarded. The place is conveniently located, roughly, 2 miles from the mountain. Everything about this stay was easy. We can’t wait to return. We LOVED our time there.
