About this property

Eve's Place Lakeside Cabin 3

Located on Croftville Road, just three miles outside Grand Marais' city center, is Eve’s Place Lakeside Cabins. Cabin 3 of Eve’s Place is one of the four unique "tiny house" cottages of the resort, located just steps away from the resort's private access to the shared 200 feet of pebble beach on Lake Superior. Croftville Road intersects Eve's Place between the beach access and Cabin 3 and the narrow road is a wonderful, quiet road for walking and biking. The average speed on the road is under 20mph, as people are here to take in the beauty of this winding, narrow road along the rugged North Shore.

Originally built in the 1930s, Cabin 3 has had significant updates. This darling little cabin (at just 332 square feet) is ideal for two adults and two small children or perhaps three adults, if you like to be cozy. There are two bedrooms, each bedroom separated from the main room by curtains. The larger bedroom has a queen bed and the smaller bedroom a full bed. There are no closets, but each bedroom has a small dresser and hooks with hangers are located on the walls for your clothes. Between the two bedrooms is the updated bathroom with a ceramic tile and glass shower and plenty of towels. All the linens and towels are professionally cleaned for each guest. In the main room is a table that seats four, a small couch and a Smart TV if you want to watch your streaming services, plus WIFI throughout the cabin. Also in the main room is the kitchen with a refrigerator, small electric cooktop/stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, cookware and all the kitchen gadgets you should need for your stay. The full glass front door allows you unobstructed views of the lake, and it also has a hidden retractable screen if you'd like the breeze to come through the cabin. There’s a heater in the main room to keep the cabin comfortable on cool evenings. All of the spaces and areas are small, but well-planned to meet your needs. Every cabin is decorated with a unique arrangement of Eve’s paintings and drawings and you’ll enjoy lake views from every window in Cabin 3.

Just outside your front door are a metal fire ring and four Adirondack chairs. Even though the fire ring sits closer to the road, you feel removed with the perfect placement of some lovely pine trees and the ever-present views of the Lake. In the evening, build a wood fire and make S’Mores with the provided marshmallow forks. You also have your own charcoal kettle grill with grilling tools if you wish to grill a meal. You can eat inside at the table, around the fire ring in the Adirondacks or at the picnic table. On a clear night there are always uncountable stars and, if you’re lucky, you may witness the amazing Northern Lights.

Just across Croftville Road from Cabin 3 are the wooden steps down to the cobblestone and pebble beach exclusively for guests of Eve’s Place. Much of the North Shore of Lake Superior is cliff or ledge rock, with occasional small beaches like at Eve’s Place. Head to the beach to skip flat stones, hunt for elusive agates, or simply sit and watch the waves and clouds. There’s no need for an agenda at the beach.

You can take a short drive into the town of Grand Marias, "America's Coolest Small Town", to enjoy all of the shops and restaurants, or plan a day hike/bike on the never-ending trails nearby. Or simply read a book while taking in the sights and sounds of this majestic lake. This is the ideal location to enjoy all that Grand Marais and the North Shore has to offer.

Also make sure to note that these cabins were originally built in the 1930's when people were smaller. One upgrade we can't do, is make the spaces bigger. The bathrooms may be tight for you. And if you're over 6'2", you'll have to bend down a bit going through the doorways, and standing in the shower. So please consider this before booking. We don't want you to be disappointed with these tiny cottages due to their size. And please note, 4 people maximum is 4 humans :) Therefore, if you are bringing your children, they are part of the total count.

Please note that starting in 2026 we will be accepting check-ins and check-outs on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays only. Check out the "Booking Information" tab on our site to see why we have made this change.

When I was young, my artist mother Eve and I would often travel to Grand Marais together. We would stay in these tiny cottages a few minutes outside of town, on the ever-so-charming Croftville Road. My mom passed away in 2020, and months later this little resort came up for sale. I knew instantly that this was "Eve's Place".

The first two years of owning Eve's Place we continued to use the property management company that had been running the resort for many years. But in 2023 my husband built us a cabin on the back of the resort, I went to a casual position at my Nurse job, and we now live on site while the resort is open May-October and manage the resort ourselves. I had cared for my mom for many years as she struggled with Alzheimer's in her old age, and now I have the joy of caring for these little cabins while passing on Eve's love of this special place. We are thrilled to seeing so many returning guests as they now build their bond with this magical place on Lake Superior.

Why they chose this property

Are you looking for tranquility on the North Shore? Somewhere you can sit around your firepit, or in your adorable tiny cabin and become mesmerized by the ever-changing majestic lake that sits right in front of you? Then come stay at Eve's Place. You can enjoy all that Grand Marais has to offer, as the town is just a few miles down the shore. But you can escape your busy day of shopping, gallery hopping and the seasonal crowds of Grand Marais, and head to your private cabin at Eve's Place. Each of the four cabins is set apart from each other just enough so that you have your private space. All cabins have unobstructed views of the Lake. And you have access to the Eve's Place private pebble beach. You can take a stroll down the beautiful road that hugs the shoreline. Enjoy all the wildflowers along the 3 mile loop of Croftville Road. Life doesn't get much better than this!

What makes this property unique

I'd like to say that our attention to detail makes our property stand out: making sure we have amazingly comfortable beds, that our linens are professionally laundered and always up-to-date, that you can find everything you need to make your cabin meal (except the food) in our tiny but well-stocked kitchens, that the cabin will be cleaned to above your expectations...
But in reality, what makes our property stand out is this majestic lake right out your window. One can't compete with Lake Superior. You can see and hear the waves crashing on the resort's private beach when the lake is active. Or grab a folding chair on the Lake's quiet days and head to our pebble beach to read a book.
