Aloha and Mahalo for your review! It was such a pleasure to host you again for your third visit — that means the world to me. I’m so happy you and your family were able to relax and enjoy the gardens, the quiet, and of course the pool with your grandson. Guests like you are the heart of MauiJOY. The County of Maui requires that the owner live on property. Most guests are not bothered by that fact as they rarely see me, and I am here in case anything goes amiss or if they need some assistance rather than properties where no one is around and things go wrong and you can't get help. Communication is key, and I think we got off to a wrong start when you did not communicate before your arrival to me that you have two mentally challanged very active young boys. In the future it would be great to know by any owner so we can have the opportunity to remove fragile or valuable antiques etc. I was around a little more as I wanted to be available in case you needed help of any kind. Regardless, I believe you all had a very good time, or at least that is what you said and said also that you would return. The boys hugged me with tears in their eyes, saying they would miss me too and my heart broke open even further. I think this 3 star rating is a low but that is how some people respond to a place that is not the Four Seasons. This week, the new indoor/outdoor carpeting will be installed and I am excited for this long overdue upgrade too. Mahalo for your taking the time out of your very busy schedule to write this review. What a wonderful family!!! Four of you and just one carry-on suitcase plus each with a personal bag..amazing travelers! Loved having you here and to know you enjoyed so much about it including just the sound of the birds during the day and the peaceful quiet at night. So many do not go to the beach and you were out bright and early each day and in the water! Good for you! Hope you will visit Maui and The MauiJOY Villa again soon. HUGS, MauiJOY

Mahalo! Glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes we all need to have a little space and time to ourselves yet good to be near restaurants, resorts where we can jump in.

You really did relax, read books, put your feet up, enjoyed the pool as you were two sisters on a mission to have a laid-back vacation and you did it too! Mahalo L for this review. I was sorry that your friends could not join you as planned yet you and your wife were able to enjoy the peace and serenity that The MauiJOY Villa provides. The night skies are fantastic now with Saturn, Jupiter and Mars visible to the naked eye. We are so fortunate too to be here in sleeveless outfits, sitting out at night while much of the Northern Hemisphere is in snow or freezing weather. I hope you two will return, I enjoyed our chats. Mahalo Tim for this wonderful review! It was my pleasure to have you stay here at the MauiJOY Villa, Heaven on Earth property. I enjoyed hearing your adventures with two couples traveling together. Naughty you, didn't tell me about your smoking habit until you were here and I sincerely thank you for using the lower garden for your smokes and using every precaution. Maybe you will kick the habit soon! For your next visit, we will have installed an outdoor shower and railings along the upgraded extra wide, walker friendly stairs to the gardens. The birthday lionesses celebrated together enjoying doing what ever they pleased and I am so happy to hear how much you enjoyed just being here too! I didn't even hear your music at the pool and you had your own speaker too! Glad you enjoyed the privacy. I too love it that no one can really see into the property as the Arica palms and banana trees hide the pool area from the uphill neighbors. Four sisters with the brightest smiles decided to extend their stay here on Maui and took a chance to reserve The MauiJOY Villa using the Book Now feature. Oh, I was surpirsed and after doing some juggling, they arrived within 24 hours. Mahalo for your wonderful review. It makes me happy to think that you were able to spend a little extra time together and just relax and enjoy the view, swims in the pool, the bird song and the special peace that Hawaii provides. What a great review to start the NEW YEAR!!! I loved having your family stay here to bring in 2023 in style & JOY! We had the perfect view of the fireworks from the Four Seasons/Grand Wailea just beneath us which were fantastic too. Each year, we continue to upgrade and remodel and hope to have a ping-pong pavillion completed for your next arrival. The exercise/yoga platform beneath the Kokui tree now has flowers and a cabinet to store yoga mats etc. I look forward to your return! MauiJOY Teri
