The Veranda Log Cabin

Enjoy nature's beauty and cool mountain breezes in the authentic log cabin on 25 wooded acre's. Walk on the many trails that meander through the property some of which lead to the pond and creek. Listen to the relaxing sound of the creek or go for a swim in the spring fed pond. You can relax on the veranda which overlooks the property and is setup for 3 hammocks. Enjoy the fire pit while making smores. Cook your dinner on the gas grill on the large porch. Watch nature all around you, wild turkey's, fox, deer, and birds.
The cabin has been completely remodeled in the last couple years with new modern kitchen, hardwood floors, bathrooms, beds, couch, and flat screen TV.
Huge master suite upstairs with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fan, A/C, heart of pine floors, Queen pillow top bed, tub and shower.
Downstairs has a modern kitchen with all new appliances, bunk beds, Leather couch, 46' flat screen TV with DVD player and Spectrum fiber internet with Roku, 1/2 bath, ceiling fan, A/C and propane heat.
Get away from it all and still be only 20 minutes to downtown Hendersonville. Minutes from many area attractions like, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Apple Valley, Biltmore Mansion, Pisgah National Forest, Flat Rock Playhouse, Dupont Forest, and Asheville.

Perfect Family Getaway

The cabin was cozy and clean. Perfect for a small family like ours. We were also thankful that it was pet friendly. We appreciated all of the staples being available to use and loved the little extra touches like the hammocks to use and the selection of games. It was a perfect getaway for us to relax and reconnect with nature.

Rustic Seclusion

I loved the quaintness of this little cabin. The creeky floors and doors added to the rustic feel. Though the cabin is tiny, it was very comfy and cozy. And the property was very peaceful and relaxing.

Cabin was ok, not very clean. Refrigerator was dirty, tub was dirty. The pond had no fish. We were expecting rustic but especially during COVID, we expected it to be clean! We weren't impressed

"Pet friendly?"

Overall, the cabin was clean and the property was ok. I thought there would be more places to walk around the property. I wouldn't say the place is actually pet friendly. Only found out once we were there that pets AREN'T allowed on furniture and a fee (no mention of how much) would be charged if hair was found. No mention on listing about this, after booking from the host, or in any of the check in instructions. Very disappointed would not have booked this cabin if I would had known about it.

We wanted a quiet and secluded getaway and this was the perfect property for that!

The property was clean, organized and the kitchen was still equipped with whatever you need during your stay. The log cabin was very charming and had plenty of room for a family with bunkbeds downstairs. The grade of the property was steep in areas, so make sure you bring your hiking boots or good sneakers for the trails and walk down to the pond. The pond is beautiful, but the water want clear when we went, so we didn't swim in it, but if you brought something to finish in and look up at the stars at night, it would probably be amazing! While we were sitting on the porch one night, was watched the fire flies descend from the mountain like glimmering stars! It's was a cherished experience! It's a short ride to Asheville and Hendersonville, with Hendersonville being less crowded with an historic center of town where we had lunch at MezzaLuna. We found a menu at the cabin and would highly recommend it! Was all that we expected and would recommend it to all!

Weekend getaway

The cabin was very nice and well kept. There is another rental property directly to the side of cabin, only a few trees separate the two, so if you are going for privacy this might not be what you are looking for. We didn’t get to explore any of the property, it rained every day we were there, which is not a problem at all as we wanted a relaxing experience. Over all we loved our stay and will be back to this place in the future. The driveway is a bit steep so don’t be shy about going up it or you might not make it. Thanks for let us stay at your place, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Veranda

The accommodations were just fine. The cabin had everything we needed. We particularly enjoyed the porch with the overhead ceiling fan. The bedroom was roomy and the bed very comfortable. Down the mountain a lot of rooster crowing and dog barking. Didn't bother me much 'cause I'm a country boy.

My wife, dog, and I really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was comfortable and clean and located near a lot of biking and hiking trails. WI-FI didn’t really work but the tv had cable for down time in the evenings. Great place would stay again.

I grew up in the Northeast and would visit my grandmother in NC often. I have always loved vacationing in the NC mountains.

Why they chose this property

I bought this property because my girls and I loved the mountains of NC. There is so much to do and see and the people are great. This property has tons of peace and privacy but is within 20 minutes of down town Hendersonville and all the shopping, restaurants, and exploring you would ever want.

What makes this property unique

We love the cool mountain air, spring and fall colors, and having a place to get away from it all, yet be close enough to all the activities you could ever want. You get the best of both worlds. Relax in the hammocks on the veranda or kick back on the large porch. Hike down to the pond or stream and listen to the relaxing sounds of the water and birds.
