About this property
This Charming Coastal Cottage is One of Rockland's Most Highly Rated Properties!
Thoughtful touches and attention to detail make this home one of the Maine Midcoast's most highly-rated rentals. This 1930s Dutch Colonial style home is truly one-of-a-kind. It is situated on a beautifully landscaped, spacious lot in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from US Route 1, and a short stroll from Rockland's lively and historic downtown. The home has been thoughtfully updated to incorporate today's conveniences, while maintaining its original design styling, character, and charming features, such as: hardwood floors, French doors, a slate kitchen sink, decorative trim moldings and built-in cabinets.
Primary accommodations include:
• Three second floor bedrooms (1-king, 1-queen, 1-full), all feature premium mattresses, window air conditioning units, and quiet-running ceiling fans.
• Two spacious second floor full bathrooms (both offer ample headroom - no low or angled ceilings). One of the full baths includes a makeup vanity with seat.
• One first floor half bath.
• Fully equipped chef's kitchen featuring a butler’s pantry, breakfast nook, and spacious island.
• Large living room with two seating areas, cozy propane stove, window air conditioning unit, and comfy leather recliners for lounging.
• Dining room with large farmhouse table, cupboard, and seating for eight.
Additional accommodations include:
• Bright, cheery three season sun porch
• Mudroom with pantry closet and plenty of cabinet space
• Spacious detached garage
• Private driveway
Major appliances include:
• Large, modern refrigerator/freezer
• Modern, slide-in style electric stove
• Oven with broiler
• Modern microwave oven
• Weber 3-burner propane grill, grilling tools, propane bottles (located in back yard)
• Modern, quiet-running dishwasher
• Full-size washing machine & dryer (located in basement)
• Air conditioners - window air conditioning units are available for use in all bedrooms, as well as the living room, for keeping cool and comfortable should a heat wave move through the area during your stay! The living room air conditioning unit effectively cools the entire first floor. Quiet-running ceiling fans are also available for use in all upstairs bedrooms, as well as the kitchen.
Whether you're compiling a quick and simple breakfast for two, or a large meal for the entire family, the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking and baking - you need only provide the menu!
Coffee!! ...one of the most important parts of the morning! Multiple coffee making options are available, including a Keurig machine, a drip type coffee maker, and a French Press. A coffee bean grinder is also available.
Sit back, relax, and unwind in the expansive, double lot back yard, featuring a paver patio area with outdoor dining set, Adirondack chairs, lush annual and perennial plantings, and plenty of peace, quiet, and tranquility. The house is equipped with reliable Wi-Fi internet service (Wi-Fi speeds: 100 Mbps download/100 Mbps upload). Escape to the beautiful Maine coast, where the mountains meet the sea, while still being within walking distance of everything that Rockland's vibrant and historical downtown has to offer. With its eclectic shops, award-winning restaurants, performing arts theaters, museums, galleries, and large, deep water harbor, Rockland has been deemed the cultural hub of Maine's Midcoast region. The Maine State Ferry Service terminal is within walking distance of the property and provides access to three neighboring offshore islands. Take in beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Penobscot Bay while walking atop Rockland harbor's unique 0.9-mile-long granite breakwater. Visit and tour nearby lighthouses such as Owls Head, Marshall Point, or Pemaquid Point. Peruse the works of Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, and many others at the Farnsworth Museum, or visit the Center for Maine Contemporary Art and study the works of contemporary artists with ties to Maine. Visit and explore charming coastal towns, such as Camden, Lincolnville, Belfast, and Castine. Venture a bit farther north to Mount Desert Island and take in the beauty of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Travel south to Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor, Wiscasset, Freeport, or Portland. Rockland makes a perfect home base for day-tripping up and down Maine's beautiful coastline. Please note - no pets or animals of any classification are permitted in the house or on the property. No more than 6 persons are permitted to occupy the premises on any given night.
