This is a great old house with so much character! She has signs of wear and tear, but that is easy to overlook due to all of her charm. Lots of rooms, great location, a wonderful wrap around porch, and very communicative owner. We booked at the last minute due to weather issues at our original location in SC, and Paul could not have been more accommodating. There are a lot of stairs, so do keep that in mind. The cove at the end of the street is so lovely. My husband and I enjoyed sunrise and star gazing from the 3rd floor bedroom. Great place!
Fantastic old style beach home. Large rooms, expansive deck and perfect location. Great for a large family or group. Kept very nicely, nice off street parking.

Al and his family were great guests! I didn't even know they were there. The place was immaculate. They are welcome back anytime. Highly recommend Al and his family as guests.
We were a group of 9 friends that stayed at Paul’s house and we had a great time! The house is big enough for everyone, very clean and close to everything you need. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone! Paul is a great host who was available, kind and flexible.
We had a great time visiting this place. With 5 bedrooms, it is ideal for a large group. The house is 10 minutes walk to York’s beach. It has everything needed. Would go again next year!
Beautiful property and beautiful location. Host was quick and thorough with responses. My party was comfortable in the bedrooms and were able to find everything that we needed.
We loved our stay in this Victorian home. The home was even nicer than the photos showed
Perfect location right near the water. Also great restaurant right across the street.
Recommend A++++++
A fun, funky old building. Worked fine for 5 women, each with their own room and bed.
Would have appreciated hand soap at the sinks and coffee filters.
This was such a beautiful older home with so much history! Every where you looked it told a story. There were four us, each having our own room. We absolutely will go back. Thank you Paul for having us. Truly a hidden gem.
We had a wonderful time at Paul's home. Large enough to gather other family members in the area and a great porch! We had a huge storm come through on Friday night and lost power but Paul contacted us right away and brought over candles and a flashlight. Thankfully it was restored in a few hours.
Convenient, walking distance to town and to the beach just north of the house. We would happily stay there again!

Exactly what I expected. Owner more then accommodating
I am so glad we picked this property for a vacation with my five sisters.the house was very comfortable and the wrap around porch was the best place to spend time with my sisters. Beautiful home. With six ladies staying in the house the three bathrooms came in handy. So much in the area to see. Loved the seafood restaurant across the street. I emailed the host Paul a few times with some questions and he got right back to us. Thank you for a great vacation. Would love to rent again next year. Deb
The house reminded us of the set of Murder She Wrote, replete with fine antiques, vintage artwork, and beautiful woodwork. The house had a mysterious vibe and mystery of days of yore. Lots of stairs if you are concerned for youngsters or elderly. The kitchen is tiny, but adequate. Loved the dining room. The beds were good, but we had to hunt for linens. The lights flickered a lot. We contacted the owner and he responded.
We had to vacate the property after one night because the cellar was filled with open bags of mothballs. We arrived around 5:30 pm in the pouring rain otherwise we would have left immediately. The toxic fumes were seeping through the vents. Several of my friends had to use their inhalers to get through the night. The host said he could resolve the problem by removing the mothballs. There is no way the fumes could be eliminated. My friends said many of the glasses in the butlers pantry were filthy dirty. I would not recommend this house to anybody.

Well Past its Prime
We arrived early and the host let us in at noon. The experience went down quickly from there. The old house had been cleaned, but we found it to be run down and not well maintained. The outside needs to be scraped/painted badly and the roof needs to be replaced. Plastic was placed over the TV room addition. All of the windows and doors have issues of one sort or another. There are also issues with peeling wallpaper, paint, drywall and plaster. To top it off, we found spiders and earwigs in the bathrooms as well as a couple of friendly mice on the main level. We sprayed the baths, and the host sent someone for the mice. If you plan on sitting on the porch and having quiet time, it will not happen as you are on a very busy intersection with lots of traffic and noise. Despite all of the above, we still had a good time and made the best of the bad environment. It is a short walk to the beach and across the street from a little restaurant. Our summary... This house needs to be removed from Vrbo and renovated!!!
If you are looking for something with "yesteryear" charm and character, then this is your place! We had 2 parents and 5 adult children to accommodate and enjoyed having enough room to feel comfortable and spread out. The large porch was great for our "mini wedding" and sitting out in the evening. Perfect location to get to beach and other area activies. Perfect value!!!
Colleagues and my adult daughter needed a 4-bedroom house and this house was perfect. Great location for our needs. Well stocked for making meals, although our plans did not include this. Plus, a short walk to the shore for beautiful sunrises
Spent a long weekend in York at an old Victorian house and had a great time. Tons of room to move around and you can hear and see the ocean from some rooms. Comfortable walk to downtown York and very close walk to Cape Neddick Beach. Everything was very clean and well stocked. Spent most of the time on the awesome porch (with a hammock). The owner Paul was very attentive and accommodating.
Stayed at this location from Saturday to Wednesday. It was just as relaxing as described! Check in process was easy and Paul was very responsive. We were 2 couples, so we knew we’d have plenty of space.
The inside was beautiful and relaxing. There was space for us to cook, play board games, and a room in the back that was cooler than the rest that we could chill in. The house was lived in, with some peeling wallpaper and cosmetic things, but they were minor and didn’t bother us. There were 3 bathrooms, the main one of which ended up not flushing on our last day or two due to broken chain in the tank. I messaged Paul and he got back to me so quick. There wasn’t a resolution during our stay, but he seemed on top of fixing it as soon as possible. We had 2 other bathrooms to use so it wasn’t a huge deal.
It was very hot and humid most of the days but Paul provided plenty of fans that we moved around to the rooms that we used and created a cross breeze. There are outlets on the porch so we put fans out there when we were enjoying gas porch. That really helped during the hot nights.
The porch is an incredible spot when the weather is nice. We spent much of our time out there on the hammock, chatting, enjoying the weather.
The location is perfect in that it is within walking distance to Cape Neddick Beach, which we went to on a cool evening and wasn’t crazy packed. About 5 minutes away by car is Short Sands beach, which has a lot of parking for a low price ($2/hour). We got to short sands around 9:30am each morning and people were there, but it wasn’t packed until later. The area has typical beach-town things within walking distance of the beach. We also made our way to Nubble Lighthouse and Long Sands beach within 15 minutes.
The driveway is difficult to see at first, but there was enough for 2 cars in that area, with another spot for 2 on the side. It wouldn’t be a great place to have a lot of cars as the front of the house is on a busy street. Its directly across from the Shore Road Restaurant, which was great to have so close. It was loud on the weekend nights because of that, but nothing too crazy that we couldn’t sleep.
All-in-all, we were incredibly pleased with this spot and enjoyed a nice vacation! We balanced going out/doing stuff with enjoying each others’ company at the house. The little imperfect things didn’t hinder our trip and we appreciated Paul’s responsiveness. Thanks for a great stay, Paul!
This house was perfect for my family
5 bedrooms 3 full baths. Kitchen was a little on the smaller side but very doable, dining room fit all 10 of us comfortably.
The porch was the favorite place to hang out after our outings. Very close to the beaches and close to a very cute town.
Love the fact that I didn't have to pack linens or bath towels. Washer/dryer was definitely a plus.
Owner was very accommodating dropping off extra fans and paper towels and TP.
I would definitely rent this house again.
