Ants

The property is nice, very good location. The house has a problem with very small ants climbing on the kitchen counters and the guest bath counters. I was able to spray with some indoor ant spray and take care of the problem while we were there. Not a big deal to us , but could be for future renters.

Disappointed

This property requires significant attention and care. There are visible water stains on the ceiling, and the exterior doors are in poor condition. The air conditioning system is undersized for the home, and the unit in the garage is covered in mold. The stovetop had dried food residue, and the kitchen cabinets were marked with fingerprints and food stains. Additionally, the top shelf of the refrigerator had not been cleaned. The floors were so dirty that walking barefoot left the bottoms of my feet black. Given the amount we paid, I found the overall condition of the home to be very disappointing.

Needs updating

We stayed here and were disappointed. The lanai screens were torn due to the hurricane, which I get…..but it needs to be disclosed. The pool was NOT heated while we were there for 5 days and I had called to have it reported. Nobody called or came to fix the problem. Great location but pictures are much better in person.

We had drove over 23 hrs...

To come to a house that wasn't cleaned to our standards or to "Covid" standards that was promised in the home chosen. What I found was to easy to see and perception is reality.. This wasn't a managers fault but I hold the cleaning crew to be retrained and what to look for and maybe by a lead cleaner or cleaning manager to over see ..Cindy "Property Manager" was truly amazing and replaced everything within the same day😊 The new propane and grill brush came later but that's only because we arrived so late that wasn't seen until days after arriving.I took pictures of everything and "Cindy" had taken action on all requests so I'm not going to rehash again all things wrong! We had already done the cleaning and I asked for my money back but it was never refunded. They did a late check out and I thought for what we had been through that was the least they could do especially after finding out there was a mistake on check out. Cindy the property manager was so amazing and she delivered same day service on items that were broken or rusted! She handled each situation with class and authority and I respected that coming from a Property Manager. I THINK MOSTLY ITS THE OWNER OF THE HOME THAT SHOULD REPLACE CARPET AND REPLACE OLD CURTAINS, FURNITURE AND HINGES OR KNOBS ETC...THE PICS WERE ALOT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THE HOME APPEARS.. AFTERALL IT WAS THE SERVICE ,THE VIEW, THE LOCATION THAT GETS A HIGH REMARK FROM ALL OF US.. Cindy needs a raise and I need to give credit were credit is due.. Cindy handled everything and by the time we left we were all relaxed and we left the home in better condition and new candles for the next to enjoy😊!Cindy did handle every situation and I have the upmost respect for her Management skills..We will be back but in a different home unless they upgrade furniture.. So I thank Cindy and look forward to returning soon😊

Right property - needs better management

Sweet Dreams is an ideal location close to shopping such as Walmart and Publix, yet a quiet neighborhood which was perfect for morning and evening walks on the residential streets. The view from the lanai is lovely with the wide canal and lake. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the lake during February & March. Interior layout of the home is great with large rooms. The interior decoration of the home is outdated, but functional. The 2nd bedroom has a double sized bed which could be upgraded to a queen for more comfort for adult guests. We were fortunate to enjoy a new pool heater that had been installed just prior to our arrival unlike the January guest who did not. We were disappointed in the services of Roelens Management Company mainly due to a lack of communication. Although we understand the destruction of hurricane Ian, we were not notified of the missing screen on the lanai or the tarps on the roof prior to our arrival. We were shocked that these details weren’t communicated with us prior to our arrival. The house has great bones, but is really in need of some maintenance attention. The lanai floor should have been power washed as the bottom of our feet were black each day. The Wi-Fi stopped working on a Sunday and was resolved on Wednesday after discovering they were paying 2 different companies for Wi-Fi and an unplugged gateway was found on a shelf in the garage, but that wasn’t the company that matched the Wi-Fi username and password that we were provided or listed in the instruction binder. It was frustrating that we had to call them Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday to get updates from them about the Wi-Fi as though our problem wasn’t important. We also were unable to have a maintenance crew come and replace light bulbs in a bathroom ceiling. We ended up doing it ourselves along with moving light bulbs to the outside garage door lights to be able to see at night. We noticed problems with the grass sprinkler system when the grass mowing contractor turn on the system near the end of our stay. There are two smoke detectors in the main living area, but only one of them had a green light showing it was in use. To summarize, the location and view are wonderful, but the assistance from Roelens Management has a lot to improve for guests.

The property needed a few repairs but it was ok - nothing that impacted our stay. We contacted the management company as there was an entire panel missing from the lanai. They came out and looked at it and said they would have someone repair it but contact us before hand. This wasnt completed during our stay and a negative was there were bugs in the lanai and by the pool. Also the garage door broke during our stay. My handy husband got it back together temporarily and I emailed them to let them know. It took several days for an email back and nothing in their email was thanking us for fixing it or an urgency to have someone look at it to ensure it was fixed with proper parts. There were alot of extra items in the garage that were handy for beach days -- some of the items were broke and just needed to be thrown it. It looked like it became a broken collect all in the garage.

This is not a bad property to rent, location and views were excellent. The house could use a few updates, but it certainly served it purpose for us. Management was excellent about answering phone and fixing issues we had immediately, extremely pleased with their service. We left with very good memories.

Do not stay here, soiled bedding, dilapidated pool, dangerous dock, poor maintenance, mold & algae

We arrived in the evening, first problem we encountered was that the bedding was not clean, some was soiled with body fluids, so we slept on towels most of which were still damp with our coats over us. In the morning we discovered that the pool & lanai were in poor shape, lots of what looked like mold, mildew or algae, the pool was very stained, not circulating and therefore not very clean with the surface crumbling in places. The ladder was missing 2 out of 3 rungs. No safety throw ring in sight, broken loose tiles around the pool. One of the loungers was broken & unusable, the outdoor soft furniture was ripped & covered in black mildew stains, I would not let my dog sit on it, let alone paying guests. The two outdoor ceiling fans were covered in dirt & looked moldy with multiple missing or dead light bulbs in, in addition the outdoor lamp had no bulb in. The dock & patio are also in poor shape, loose, rotten dock posts, rotten, moldy, splintering dock boards, not somewhere you would want to sit out on. The mats in the lanai had black stuff growing on them, pretty disgusting for the amount we paid. Roelens Vacation Rentals send a rep around for a meet & greet around 11 AM, they took notes of all the issues & to their credit did get the lanai pressure washed that day, removed broken lounger, the cleaners came back in and did a better job, ceiling fans cleaned, replaced mats, installed light bulbs & most of all brought all new bedding, comforters & towels. Because the lanai had not been cleaned like this for some time, a lot of dirt & debris ended up in the pool, unfortunately the filter must have been clogged as it was not circulating & the dirt/debris was not removed until Thursday, meaning we did not feel comfortable using the pool with black pieces of crud (mold/mildew/algae?) floating around in it. Even after the pool company came with a vac & cleaned the filter, the pool does not circulate very efficiently, it really needs emptying, resurfacing and the whole filter, pump, cleaning system refurbishing. A few other minor issues are the grass was not cut, broken tile on the table, glass tables with loose supports that cause them to collapse if you lean against them & an orange growth inside the wardrobe doors. We asked Roelens for some reimbursement of what we considered was not good value for money, because we were very unhappy with all the above issues, however they refused to give us any refund as they said they resolved all our issues.

Thank you for your review. Although the property needed some updating, this guest made it really difficult. Roelens Vacations replaced all the bedding immediately, had the cleaning crew show up again and cleaned the complete house again. Furhermore, we replaced the outdoor mats, a lounge chair, lanai fans, updated the older outdoor furniture by new ones, did a deck and pool cage pressure wash. The entire property was basically washed and updated. We apologized many times and the owner helped us out greatly. Thank you, Roelens Vacations.

Loved it!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Sweet Dreams. A Keurig coffee machine would have been nice, but definitely not a deal breaker. And the bar stools are too low. They may be fine if you're tall, be we aren't that fortunate. Those two things are our only suggestions. Everything was in working order, the furniture was comfortable, the pool was awesome. It was a great place to stay with a beautiful setting in a quiet neighborhood.

Begynte litt dårlig. Vi ankom litt for tidlig på dagen og ble avkrevd 50$ for det. Vi oppdaget at nettingen rundt uteområdet var ødelagt, noe som medførte masse insekter (store og små) inn på verandaen. Meget ubehagelig. 2 herrer kom første dag for å «ønske» oss velkommen. Vi sa fra om nettingen, og de svarte at det skulle ordnes «in a couple of days». Det ble ordnet etter et par dager, da var det 3 nettinger som måtte skiftes. Bortsett fra dette hadde vi et OK opphold. Størrelsen på huset passet oss bra i og med at vi er 4 personer. Sentralt og fint plassert.

Great vacations!!

The home was clean , water of pool was too hot,no blender, do not expect same to pics looks ( they make some touchs to the pics to looks better ) .We really enjoyed the home , walmart is half mile a way, nice and quite neighborhood,the the paints on the wall are a little .....i mean to far to be art (sorry). If next year we return and it is aviable ,i would not hesitate to rent it again.good home and nice vacation .

Beautiful View!

This home is located in a nice quiet neighborhood. The view in the back is amazing. The drawback to this home is no shower in the master bedroom. There is also a few issues in the pool area that need attention. The screen door needs repair as well as some tiles. They also need a new grill, it is all rotted out inside. If those things could be fixed, this home would be a 5 star. Again, the view is worth the stay.

Nice place - No shower in Master Bath

This house was well kept and clean. However there is no shower in the Master Bath, only a jacuzzi tub. Had to walk through whole house to get to the shower.

Great size, lanai/pool area, and location!

we really enjoyed our month's stay, was hard to come home to the cold and dreary. the best part about this property is the pool/lanai area, and the sunsets. even though the property was well equipped, the decor was a bit quirky. it really should have a shower in the master! the bathrooms really need updating. there were insects in some of the kitchen cabinets..smaller than ants . i expect that in florida, we lived there before... the toilets are running...may need some repair. the master bed was quite comfortable. loved southwestern florida!
