The Ashfield house is a spectacular timber frame home in the hills of western mass where you can disconnect from the rush and enjoy the quiet and solitude of nature. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms comfortably sleep 8 people. An open floor plan creates a naturally comfortable social setting with a beautiful kitchen with breakfast counter and featuring a historic farm sink. The dining area connects to the living space and in the summer the french doors can be opened to make it feel like you are dining on the lawn. Lounge area with a pool table and reading nook that overlooks the fields. Wrap around porch with a gas grill and an outdoor bed (with heated blankets) for the adventurous soul that wants to sleep outside. The house is cooled with mini split units and heated with free standing propane stoves. Wood burning fireplaces create an inviting and homey atmosphere in the winter months. Wood burning sauna in the cellar that can be enjoyed through the cold months, followed by a cold plunge in the pond.

The Ashfield house has a network of trails right out the back door and is just 20 minutes from Berkshire East Ski Resort. Enjoy mtn biking in the summer, alpine and cross country skiing in the winter or venture out to one of the white water raft companies and enjoy the many rivers of western mass. The recreation opportunities are endless or just sit back in the hills and enjoy the quiet afternoons and star filled nights!

The property was great for the one medium-sized dog we brought. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. You could really tell that the house is loved and lived-in. It is not just a furnished rental property, but clearly someone’s home they have spent a lot of time furnishing with high-quality items. The interior of the house was just as nice as the scenery outside, making for an effortlessly relaxing vacation.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend and had a great experience. The property is beautiful, and we (and our dog) enjoyed exploring it and hiking the nearby trails which are just down the road. The house was very clean, unique, and comfortable. We loved relaxing by the fireplace, playing pool, and having a well-stocked kitchen. The towels were super soft and the welcome gift was a nice touch.It felt like a true getaway — close to great towns to explore, but private enough to just enjoy being in nature. We’d definitely stay here again.

House was great. Dirt road was too treacherous with steep downhill and drop off on one side after 6 inches of snow, followed by melting and refreezing. Could not safely leave until the city sand truck came late in the day. Host was very responsive. Although no one could find the pack n play for the 1 year old to sleep in that the host promised was there. Nor did he supply the high chair he had promised. Had to borrow both from a local friend.
