Historic B&B located walking distance to the Williamsburg and The College of W&M
The Williamsburg Sampler is a traditional bed & breakfast and #1 and sometimes #2 on Tripadvisor. While we are a bed & breakfast the house is often rented by single groups of families and friends traveling together. The Williamsburg Sampler features four guest rooms, two suites and two chamber rooms.
The suites will make you feel extra special with King size four poster bed and 18th century colonial decor, wingback chair, premium cable television, and private bath with steam shower. These suites lead through French doors to the second room with additional seating, a wet bar sink and refrigerator in an antique piece, fireplace and 2nd televisions. These suites also feature pull out coaches for additional sleeping accommodations. Again through French doors and out to the "RoofTop Garden," with a view of the garden, woods, and grapevine covered Arbor. These suites can comfortably accommodate guests four each.
The Chamber Rooms are an equally pleasant room with king size four-poster pineapple carved bed, 18th century colonial decor, wingback chair, television/fireplace and private bath with Steam Shower. The entire house will sleep 12+ guests. We also have kiddie cots, air mattresses and porta cribs available.
All our bathrooms have been completely remodeled with Jetted Shower which allows spray nozzles to blanket you with a cone shaped spray to provide a more soothing and relaxing shower experience. Wifi is available throughout the house along with an Internet ready computer & printer available in our large sitting room.
The Williamsburg Sampler is located three blocks from Colonial Williamsburg and the Merchants Square Shops. (a very pleasant walk through the historic William & Mary Campus) We are located just minutes from Busch Gardens, Water Country, the Prime Outlet Shops, the Williamsburg Winery, Jamestown & Yorktown. We also have plenty of golf within a short drive.
A Full Regional Buffet Breakfast is offered each morning. We are caterers and prepare a wonderful breakfast. Additionally, always have freshly baked cookies, coffee, hot chocolate, lite snacks and soft drinks available. Daily housekeeping is also included.

We had an amazing family stay at the Sampler! We were in town for our son's winter graduation from W & M. We rented the entire house and could not have been happier with the accommodations or the host. The house was so cozy and festively decorated for Christmas. Val provided amazing hospitality with a personal touch that made us feel warm, comfortable and relaxed. She made a delicious breakfast each day, which was enjoyed at the big dining table by our group. We had a lovely graduation party one evening of our stay and Val attended to our every need with so much care. Thank you to everyone at the Sampler for making our stay so special and memorable. We can't wait to come back!
Rented the entire house for family get together and it was a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, breakfast every morning was delicious and varied and was very close to Busch Gardens, Water Country and Colonial Williamsburg. All three generations had a fantastic time.
Our third stay at the Williamsburg Sampler and as wonderful as the first two trips. We're already looking forward to a return. And make the breakfasts a part of your itinerary while in Williamsburg, you'll love them!
Amazing stay for a birthday celebration! Beautiful and conveniently located BNB with so many trinkets to admire. Every convenience was accounted for and the made from scratch breakfast every morning was delightful. Would highly recommend a stay here if visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Thank you, Laura and Becky!
All ten of us couldn’t have been more pleased! Breakfast was outstanding every morning. The location was very walkable to historic Williamsburg and easy drive to other tourists areas. Wonderful large living room where all of us could gather. There was a nice outdoor area but the weather didn’t cooperate. Definitely would recommend.
Our second time staying at the Williamsburg Sampler and not our last. Laura and Stephanie are a great team as hostesses. The accommodations are great, every convenience is provided and you make a mistake if you don't take time to enjoy the wonderful breakfasts. My favorite B&B!
We (6 adults & 1 teen) enjoyed having a whole house forour family. There were 5 spacious bedrooms with privatebaths. There was plenty of hot water. The best was having Becky come in and make a fantastic breakfast every morning. (She even fixed gluten free items for me and my daughters.)The house was easy to find coming from Richmond. It is advertised as a short walk to Market Square in Williamsburg but that really was about a mile walk.I so appreciate this Bed and Breakfast.Sincerely, J. Hollon
We had 7 relatives from age 20 to 65 visit another family member in the Williamsburg area. A lot is available to do with a short drive. With this many guys -we all had our own room and bed. We explored the many statues and antiques in the house. Great stay Thank you
We loved this bed and breakfast! So many neat things to check out. Very cool antique items! The rooms were comfortable and clean. Our host was phenomenal! So nice and welcoming. We had fresh breakfast made every morning while we were there. My husband was sad we had to leave and wanted to know who would make such yummy breakfasts for him now. lol. We had a great time!
We loved this bed and breakfast. Laura responded to any question we had before we arrived. Stephanie cooked the most wonderful breakfast every morning. We are 4 senior
women who travel together each year, and this was one of our favorite stays! I would recommend it to anyone.
Rented this property for a family getaway between Christmas and New Year. The property was absolutely gorgeous and plenty of room for our family of 9. Breakfast was prepared every morning by Stephanie, which was delicious and consumed with vigor by the 4 picky teenagers. The location of the property was a short walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg area which was perfect. Will definately be back.
Fabulous property-very large and located near historic district
This was a vacation with my daughter, Granddaughter and her husband and their two year old daughter. The high chair and portable crib made having a toddler easy. The weather was delightful - sunny and mild for Christmas weekend and we were in walking distance to historic area. This peaceful place made the sadness of losing my husband in June and my daughters husband last Christmas bearable.
I highly recommend renting this property. I travel quite a bit (work, vacation & workcations) and I can honestly say that Williamsburg Sampler has been my favorite place to stay. I will continue to request this rental when I go to the Williamsburg area and will refer (have referred to several people already) anyone going to the Williamsburg area to the Williamsburg Sampler! I took my family of 10 plus 2 little fur babies on this vacation. Everyone from ages 9 - 80 years old had such a wonderful time and loved this property plus the wonderful breakfast that Stephanie cooked us each morning. And the wonderful conversations with Stephanie!
Thank you so much Laura and Stephanie for a wonderful stay. And I want to add that Stephanie is completely the most awesome host! We now consider her part of our family!
We rented the whole house for a week for ourselves and our two daughters' young families, eight people total, ages 2 months to 68 years. The suites worked for the kids with parents, the regular rooms for the rest of us. (We expected extra guests who had to cancel but could have fit.) Breakfast provided every morning by the same very friendly woman. She made normal, good breakfasts, something a little different every day, not hoity-toity gourmet ("what is this?") food. She noted our needs and preferences without running menus past us. Even the 2- and 3-year olds were able to find something they could get into each day. The coffee machine was the biggest hit with the 5 adults. The whole place is lovely but too packed with art and memorabilia for our little guys on top of which Christmas decorations had been put up, all way too tempting for little grabby hands. A couple of the ceiling light fixtures are hung too low. We had some bruised skulls among our crew. Watch out! The location is pretty good, a nice neighborhood, not very far from attractions but it was not as walkable as we had hoped it would be for the kids. Walking from the b&b to Colonial Williamsburg wasn't bad––but then you needed to still have enough stamina to be able to walk around Colonial Williamsburg! The house has several nice areas for sitting together inside and also outside if the weather is nice. Grocery stores, a drug store are nearby but not walking distance. All in all we had a good stay.
This warm, history-filled home had it all for our family of 9, ages 11 to 74: comfortable bedrooms, fireplaces everywhere, multiple TVs for World Cup viewing and movies, fabulous breakfasts, and a large, beautiful dining room for serving a full turkey dinner purchased at Fresh Market! And in between all that, we were within walking distance to more fun at Merchants Square and Colonial Williamsburg.
Many thanks to our wonderful hosts!
