We come back to this clean and comfortable cabin every year! It’s a cozy peaceful spot in the woods but still just a few minutes from town. We enjoy reading and playing games by the wood burning stove, cooking our meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and exploring the many hiking trails in the area. Already looking forward to our next visit!
House was perfect for a weekend getaway. Clean, spacious, a few kid friendly toys and books. Chris and Anne were great communicators. We would definitely book this stay again.
The property was excellent. Quiet, serene and very private. We hope to book next year soon for around the same time. It's beautiful there. The fireplace was super efficient and heated the place fast. The host is super nice and when we had a question he answered almost right away. We love this place.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this secluded cabin! It was nostalgic to be able to step away from all the outside noise and be able to relax and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous nature that surrounds the Grand Marais area!
This was a wonderful home base for our vacation. This is the perfect spot to see all the things along the north shore. The babbling brook was an excellent soundtrack to our evenings. You are far away enough from town that you can see the stars—we even caught a meteor shower while we were there. A few notes: There is a pretty big step into the cabin you might have to help elderly or children up as there is no railing or grab bar. In the same category, the spiral steps to the loft can be tricky. Use the handrail and be careful carrying up your suitcase. We did have cell service, but there is no wi-fi. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it is worth noting if you plan to do work. There is plenty of wildlife. Drive slow coming into cabin and you will see deer, rabbits, and other critters. The piano is a nice addition to the cabin—it’s probably even better if you know how to play more than Chopsticks.

Dear friends, thank you for the inputs.......they are important.

Minnesota’s summer is short-lived, but oh so rewarding. Lake Superior is just heavenly — it feels like being seaside, although the water might be a tad too cold to swim. The A-Frame on the Devil’s Track River has both proximity to the greatest Great Lake, and the seclusion of a private cabin tucked away in the woods (best of both worlds IMHO). I would 100 percent come back again — the place was cozy and clean, with all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay plus charming features such as original artwork, a piano, and a spiral staircase leading to the bedroom nook upstairs. I hope to come back and hike the Pincushion Trail next time. It’s super close! Away from this home base, we mostly spent time in Grand Marais (super cute town) and also took a day trip to Grand Portage — both the National Monument and State Park. I was delighted with the experience and the scenic views along Highway 61.
Great location! Close to grand Marais , close to fishing and mountain biking ,just what we were looking for. Well kept property, secluded location, nice area in the back to sit by the pond/ brook with fire pit.Comfortable sleeping arrangements, we are a family of 6.We enjoyed our stay.We enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed another relaxing and cozy stay at this secluded forest retreat! After spending the day hiking at nearby State Parks and trails off the Gunflint, we loved playing games and reading by the fire. The location by the river is ideal, and it’s so nice to sit on the deck and listen to the water. The cabin is clean and comfortable, and the hosts are responsive. We will be back!
Comfortable and funky with plenty of art, books and movies. Very quiet with a small burbling river let that provides a nice background. Woodstove and plenty of wood to keep you warm on cool nights.
This place to us, is heaven on earth. So quiet, so peaceful ,and the air is so fresh. We will be booking again next year. The weather was absolutely fabulous. We didn't need the fire place as it was very comfortable temperature wise. Excellent.
