About this property
Cottage on southern shore of Lake Ontario with sunset views of Toronto skyline
Clean*, cozy cottage on the southern (NY) shore of Lake Ontario -enjoy gorgeous sunsets and a view of Toronto from the backyard. Close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, too.
The cottage is fully and comfortably furnished and equipped for everything you'll need to enjoy your stay, whether it's for two nights or two weeks, including stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, and linens/towels, kitchen paper products and laundry detergents. Updated kitchen, bamboo flooring in most rooms, ceiling fans in living room and two bedrooms. Additionally, there's free Wi-Fi, TV, gas grill, and washer and dryer. Of special interest to fishermen, there's room to park your boat trailer - we're just a few miles from boat launches and marinas.
The cottage can sleep 5, with a double bed in bedroom 1, 2 single beds in bedroom 2, and 1 single in bedroom 3.
Great location between Wilson and Olcott , near Niagara Falls and Buffalo, Niagara County wine trail, Artpark concerts, and world-class fishing and boating. 20 minutes from bridge to Canada.
*How clean is "clean"? We may miss the occasional dust bunny (those things are sneaky!), but here's what we do between guests: wash ALL used bed linens, including mattress covers and blankets; clean and disinfect shower, toilet, sink, medicine cabinet and wash bath mat and towels; wipe out fridge, stove and oven, microwave; dust all furniture in bedrooms and living room; sweep and wash floors; wipe/disinfect all door knobs; sweep back porch (we try to wash it, too, but that doesn't always happen). Periodically, we also clean the windows and dust the fan blades and whatever else we notice. My own house should be so clean!
Caveat emptor: We have had absolutely NO COMPLAINTS from ANYONE about any of these (or, frankly, about anything else!), but in the interests of full disclosure, here are some things we think you should know before you reserve. 1. You cannot access the lake shore from the property; we sit up on a bluff. You have limited lake views from the cottage itself; you need to walk out into the yard to really view the lake - but what a view! And you're welcome to bring some chairs or blankets out and lounge around out there to enjoy the sunset or the boats. 2. We live nearby on the property; we believe we're pretty unobtrusive, though, so hopefully you'll have all the privacy you want, while having the added advantage of a readily available source of local knowledge.
