About this property
Cottage on southern shore of Lake Ontario with sunset views of Toronto skyline
Clean*, cozy cottage on the southern (NY) shore of Lake Ontario -enjoy gorgeous sunsets and a view of Toronto from the backyard. Close to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, too.
The cottage is fully and comfortably furnished and equipped for everything you'll need to enjoy your stay, whether it's for two nights or two weeks, including stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, and linens/towels, kitchen paper products and laundry detergents. Updated kitchen, bamboo flooring in most rooms, ceiling fans in living room and two bedrooms. Additionally, there's free Wi-Fi, TV, gas grill, and washer and dryer. Of special interest to fishermen, there's room to park your boat trailer - we're just a few miles from boat launches and marinas.
The cottage can sleep 5, with a double bed in bedroom 1, 2 single beds in bedroom 2, and 1 single in bedroom 3.
Great location between Wilson and Olcott , near Niagara Falls and Buffalo, Niagara County wine trail, Artpark concerts, and world-class fishing and boating. 20 minutes from bridge to Canada.
*How clean is "clean"? We may miss the occasional dust bunny (those things are sneaky!), but here's what we do between guests: wash ALL used bed linens, including mattress covers and blankets; clean and disinfect shower, toilet, sink, medicine cabinet and wash bath mat and towels; wipe out fridge, stove and oven, microwave; dust all furniture in bedrooms and living room; sweep and wash floors; wipe/disinfect all door knobs; sweep back porch (we try to wash it, too, but that doesn't always happen). Periodically, we also clean the windows and dust the fan blades and whatever else we notice. My own house should be so clean!
Caveat emptor: We have had absolutely NO COMPLAINTS from ANYONE about any of these (or, frankly, about anything else!), but in the interests of full disclosure, here are some things we think you should know before you reserve. 1. You cannot access the lake shore from the property; we sit up on a bluff. You have limited lake views from the cottage itself; you need to walk out into the yard to really view the lake - but what a view! And you're welcome to bring some chairs or blankets out and lounge around out there to enjoy the sunset or the boats. 2. We live nearby on the property; we believe we're pretty unobtrusive, though, so hopefully you'll have all the privacy you want, while having the added advantage of a readily available source of local knowledge.

Great hosts, beautiful property, convenient location to fishing areas, local restaurants and Live Edge Brewing! This was our second visit and we will certainly be back.
Very clean location and access to the water for views of the sunsets was fun. Even though the host's house was in close proximity, it never felt that way. Easy access to Niagara falls.
We were impressed with the location and all of the activities we found in this area of New York. The property is lovely-Lake Ontario is in your backyard!!it was a perfect getaway!

I agree, it's so cool to have a Great Lake in your backyard! I'm glad you had a perfect getaway and enjoyed some of the many, many things to do in our area of NY. Thanks for the review, and happy autumn!
Thank you for another fantastic stay!We just checked out, and are heading back today…unfortunately .We ended up having our youngest son and his girlfriend come up with us last minute, which was her first time in the area. She absolutely loved it.Hoping this is available again about the same time next year (we love it).Thank you again for everything.
Beautiful setting with a nice view of the lake. Close to swimming and other family-friendly activities. The cottage was clean and cozy, just the right size for a family of four. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Very nice, clean and accomodating. I didn’t actually get to meet the owners , just a wave hello, but we didn’t need any help so it was ok.Lovely sunsets and a nice pkace to sit out and have a drink or watch the butterflies or hummingbirds in the huge butterfly bush.We will definitely return.
Great little cottage conveniently located between Wilson and Olcott. On-site hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to a return visit..
Great property. Would only suggest that you change the mattress on the double bed as it was very un.
Lovely property.

Thanks for the review! We've been considering the mattress change, just worried about the expense - I don't want to raise our rates! Thanks for your feedback!

We're glad you and your daughter enjoyed your stay with us! There are lots of activities and sights for families to enjoy together....and we think our cottage is very comfortable for families.
The cottage was super cute and was one of the best stocked houses (they think of things you might miss packing) we have rented. The owners are super friendly and helped us with the fire pit :) Lewiston; Olcott and a number of wineries and parks are close. One of our top girls get away homes! Thank you for a great stay!
Home had lovely view of lake. Very relaxing to sit on front porch with a glass of wine in the evening. Good location for visit to the falls, state parks, restaurants and wineries. Kitchen had everything u would need. Really enjoyed our stay!
Great 4 days. Breweries, Wineries, Hiking, Niagara Falls and spent the evening watching the sunset on the Lake Ontario.

Thank you so much for the kind review! We do our own cleaning, so it's always nice when someone notices! We know our cottage isn't one of VRBO's luxurious vacation villas, but we do aim for clean, comfortable and relaxing at a reasonable rental rate. Glad we delivered, and hope to see you back sometime!

We try to fish Lake Ontario every year. Thought we'd try a house on the water. Excellent location, cleanliness and comfortable. Especially liked watching sunsets on waters edge.
The house was adorable. Everything we needed was available. The view of Lake Ontario was lovely. The owner even lit their fire pit which provided some very nice warmth on a cold evening. Traffic was not a problem.
Our family planned a short trip to NY state and spent the majority of our time in Burt. We prefer to stay in smaller towns that are not congested with tourism and this one did not disappoint. The house was as described, a fair price, was very clean, and the owners are quite friendly! We plan to make another trip up in the future to spend more time.

Thanks! We are "off the beaten path" for the usual tourist spots of Niagara Falls, but still close enough (40 minutes) for day trips. Meantime, we've got all kinds of other fun things to do right up the road or around the corner.
We hope you do make another trip, there's still some much for you to do and see!
Dawn
The place was well stocked with everything you need. Spoke to Dawn and when asked if a crockpot was there she said she will leave one on the table. When we arrived it was there for us. The place is right on the water. Just beautiful. We were there for a Girls Weekend. It was the perfect location. Would come back again!

Amazing!!
We stayed in Dawn and Paul's cottage for a week while in Lockport for business. We didn't mind the half-hour drive each day because it was so worth it to return to such a peaceful place after our business was done each day. The lawn overlooking Lake Ontario was our favorite spot. Inside the cottage we had absolutely everything we needed. We will be back!

Thank you so much! Although we can't hope to provide the luxury experience some properties do, we do try very hard to provide a little bit more than you would expect for the cost. And we include the peace and quiet for free! We absolutely hope you will be back!
