About this property
Family-Friendly Moonridge Cabin
Hot Tub - Pool Table - Gas Grill - Wood Fire Place!
Sierra's Base Camp is a single story house with a log like cabin feel. It's been meticulously decorated and furnished to further add to the mountain feel. It truly is a home away from home. It's our hope our guest enjoy it as much as we do when we visit.
The cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with refrigerator, gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, oven toaster, and coffee maker. Dining Table can seat 6-8. Family Room has a wood burning fireplace, flat screen "Fire Stick" TV, DVD player, and surround sound. The house has free WiFi, ready to go. The sofa turns into a queen size bed when needed. Adjacent to family room is a pool table and pub table. Immediately off the family room is a large deck with an umbrella table (seats 6) and a gas BBQ. A full size front loading washer and dryer is located next to the guest bathroom.
There are 3 bedrooms. The Master has a king size bed. The master bath has a shower tub combo. The deck is accessible from the Master. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed. The 3rd bedroom has a twin size bunk bed plus a pull out twin. The guest bathroom has a shower bath combo. Please note that the house sleeps 7 in bedrooms and two additional guests with pull out sofa bed for a total of 9.
There is additional outside seating space on the front patio. We have beautiful wood furniture which seats 4. And of course there is a beautiful Hot tub to relax in after a long day of activity.
Driveway has easy accessibility, especially during winter months, has a very mild downward slope. No stairs to deal with (makes loading and unloading vehicles very easy). Driveway can accommodate up to 3 vehicles.

About the host
Hosted by Brian Koops
Brian and I (Teresa) love to be active. Brian is a mountaineer (has climbed 23K feet) and an avid mountain biker and skier. I love to run half marathons, workout, and ski. As a family, we enjoy hiking, cycling, and spending time with our family and friends.
Why they chose this property
We chose to buy a cabin in Big Bear because of its beauty, year round activities, and proximity to our primary residence. We specifically chose a house in Moonridge because of its close proximity to the ski resorts, downtown, and lake. Our daughter was 14 months when we bought our cabin and she was one of the main reasons for taking the plunge. This cabin has been named, Sierra's Base Camp, as a metaphor to giving our daughter the building blocks to learn, explore, grow, and to appreciate and respect the great outdoors.
What makes this property unique
We love how private and peaceful our house is because of the way it's nestled on the hillside. Our cabin instantly gives us a relaxed feeling when we walk inside, we call it, 'our happy place'. I also love the knotty pine wall and high arched ceiling with log beams and our vintage sled and skis. But our favorite part of the house is our gorgeous river rock fireplace!
