The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. The farm was very nice, lots of animals, easy to access. Had my large dog along, no issues with the farm animals or anything else. Would definitely stay again.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the numerous ant traps all over the room with many live and dead ants around. The wifi information in the check-in binder was not accurate and the information provided via email and app was not on the list of visible wifi. Not having wifi is okay, but there's MINIMAL cell service and being able to have a phone for safety purposes was needed. When we got somewhere for service and contact BOTH hosts, neither responded for the duration of our stay. The listing photos are light and airy and were clearly taken in the early rental days as the look and feeling is dimmer and more used. Everything in the photos has been changed out for other decor and furniture, which again is okay, but unexpected. There are people who live below the property and starting at 5am, sounded like it was WWE with loud pounding noises continuing all day and into the "quiet hours" time beginning at 11pm. They also have a dog that was off leash when we arrived and no adult to be seen to control the dog. So we had to stand there with children waiting for the dog to leave the area. There were a few other occurrences that left us feeling like an unwelcome part of their community.
The place was clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. They also provided earplugs, which are necessary since it is a farm and the roosters wake up starting around 4:30 am. My kids had fun “talking” to the turkeys in a gobble-language. It was quite cute. We liked seeing all of the animals, especially the peacocks perched on our deck when we got home one day. The place is aptly named! All on all, it was a nice little place and the 4 of us had a great time.
Who knew? All these years driving through Slaterville Springs, that we would find this unique spot. Both eclectic and bucolic describe the setting on this family-run farming homestead. With several overnight options available, you find yourselves in your own unique abode overlooking the lovely farmland. Wake up to roosters crowing, peacocks strolling across the lawn, sheep and horses grazing in the pastures.
There are numerous areas to relax and enjoy the setting. We highly recommend Scottland Yard to those travelers who like an experience off the beaten path.

Hi, my name is Andrea, my spouse Duane of 41 years and I have had the privilege of traveling extensively. We know all the little details we appreciate when traveling in the U.S. and abroad. We love the adventure of meeting fellow travellers whether we are the ones on the move or are ourselves hosting. We enjoy continuing to create our little bit of paradise here and enjoy sharing it with others. We firmly believe if we choose to help others achieve their goals in this life, we will never need to be concerned about our own. What we give comes back 10 fold! Namaste, Andrea

Ithaca has some of the finest dining in the world! There are over 200 wineries in the Fingerlakes Region and many are within an hours drive. The closest one to us is Six Mile Creek Vineyard about 5 miles away.
Wifi is available in the common/public spaces on the farm.
What makes this property unique
Our property has a one of a kind natural pool swimming with Koi which you can feed. The free range peacocks, peahens and chickens are fun to watch as they wander around the yard. The 2 horses enjoy being petted over the fence. Please know this is a farm and the farm animals are early risers. You also have access to the beach and all common area bistro tables. You may enjoy the property, hammocks pool and shops. We have a small Mercantile store that you may peruse at your convenience. Among other things we carry charcoal, lighter fluid, bundled wood for fire pit, local brew, smore kits, horse, koi and chicken food snacks, jewelry etc. For that we accept Venmo, cash or checks. The small shops are operated via "the honor system" for your convenience. We have installed security cameras in the shops.
