Hi Steve, thanks for your review. We would like to highlight that in our adv is clearly stated that the apartment is located on 4th floor without elevator. With regards to the extra blankets, we understand that preferences for bedding can vary from guest to guest. At the time of your stay, the weather in Rome was already quite warm, so we did not consider it necessary to provide extra blankets as part of the standard setup.

The apartment (not a room) is located on the fourth floor of a historic building without an elevator, and this information is clearly stated in the listing before booking. For this reason, we are surprised that your review focuses almost exclusively on a feature that was fully disclosed in advance rather than on the apartment itself. Your comments also refer to the waste bins located in the building's entrance area. This is a decision made by the condominium management and is entirely outside the control of both the landlord and us as the property managers. We always encourage guests to review the listing carefully before booking so they know exactly what to expect. The apartment's location, amenities, and features are accurately described, allowing guests to make an informed choice.

We would, however, like to clarify a few points for future guests. First, the listing clearly states that the apartment is located on the 4th floor of a historic building without an elevator. In Italian historic buildings, ceilings are often particularly high, which means that the staircases can indeed have more steps than one might expect. The upstairs bedroom is also clearly shown in the listing and is accessible via the characteristic spiral staircase. Regarding the air conditioning, from our experience the AC unit in the living room is sufficient to cool the ground-floor bedroom as well. As is common in Italy, we do not normally install AC units in kitchens and bathrooms. Naturally, during a stay in Rome at the end of July, temperatures around 32°C (90°F) are unfortunately to be expected, rather than cool weather. As for toiletries, this is a private tourist apartment rather than a hotel, so extensive toiletry supplies are not included. We provide a small welcome kit consisting of a small bar of soap, a small sachet of shower gel, and one roll of toilet paper per guest. Additional supplies can easily be purchased independently at the nearby supermarket, according to each guest’s personal needs.

We're sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations but we do not really understand why: we understand that you were unable to use the rooftop, since it was December, full winter and pretty rainy, but I'm sure you knew that while booking and didn't expect to use an open terrace as it was summer... right? Also, the heating system in the apartment is fully functional, and temperatures in Rome during your stay have been quite mild but yes, an open air terrace might not be enjoyable in deep winter. Also, the size of the apartment and the presence of stairs are clearly described and shown in the listing photos, so guests can assess whether the property is suitable for their needs, especially when traveling with a baby or heavy luggage.
