This place is very awesome and their is a neborhoood dog who will visit you he is a baitold dog and he is nice I have been there 4 times and I still want to go, there is also a furnace on the porch and the neighbor sells firewood, there is fishing/outdoor equipment in the shed, and it is also a two minute walk from a trout river with a bridge that is accessible to all the creek is very long and I managed to catch minnows, crawdads, and salamanders left and right, the pond has no fish in it but it has big bullfrogs and tadpools, it also has southeastern newts which make for a good bait at the river.
We spent our Christmas in this cozy cabin in the mountains.

Great family stay!
A perfect quick getaway for our family with two young kids. They loved playing in the creek while Mom and Dad watched from the porch. Great accommodations for adults and kids alike! Highly recommend
With ages from 1 yr to 83 yrs-this was a perfect spot and had something for everyone. We loved the quirky architecture, the lovely porch and the kids loved the nooks and crannies indoors and the stream and pond outdoors. We highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!
Several friends stayed here for an event nearby. Comfortable and serene setting. Beautiful view of the pond, and even when it rained, we enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and made a fire in the wood stove. Would definitely return if coming back to the area.
House is nice and cozy, we enjoyed hanging out in the living room on the comfy furniture. It was a very cold weekend so we couldn’t enjoy the porch with the wood-burning stove but would love to come back in the spring to sit outside and listen to the creek.
We loved staying here. It was the perfect distance from Boone and quiet! Also very clean. Bring soap as they didn’t have any for showering on the property, we also didn’t ask as we had our own. Other than that this was an incredible VRBO for us. 5 stars and would stay here again!

Ab amazing and magical place
Just don't try to book it when I need it! I have two more years of kids at ASU and I don't want to stay anywhere else.
This was the perfect property for the guys weekend fishing trip. The covered patio and wood stove was a instrumental part to the weekend. Our surprise visitor was a great not advertised amenity. "Not Lost" showed up to welcome us to the neighborhood. Overall this house had everything you will need for a great getaway.
We were so happily surprised at how adorable this house. The pond was fun for fishing and the creek was great for adults wanting to relax and kids wanting to play. There was a friendly little neighborhood dog that came to visit every now and then and she just added to the magic of the house.
My family and I stayed for 5 nights for our first trip to the blue ridge mountains and we had a wonderful time. We visited a few hiking spots as well as Boone and Blowing Rock and it was easily accessible while also feeling like you were peacefully remote. The creek was a great addition, everyone enjoyed playing in it and listening to it while sitting on the deck. There was plenty of room. Clean and cozy.

Great!
We loved this house and fishing at the pond. We did not catch anything our whole stay, but everything about it was relaxing. Lots of visits from neighbors' pets to keep us entertained! The reading nook in the small loft above the kitchen was a hit with the kids, too. We will definitely return...
There are really nice and amazing...alot of quiet also relax. The problem is smelling alike something water outside it make go thought in the cabin we smell everywhere ...others are great thanks for let us stay there.
We had a wonderful stay in Todd! The house is super fun! The nooks and crannies were delightful places to hang out and rest! The pond is fun and so is the creek! The neighbors were all polite and helpful! Seth is a great host and super helpful! We got to do a lot of mountain runs and try out fishing! The best part for us was sitting on the porch in front of the wood stove!! It’s quiet and comfy! We were there in December so it was kind of chilly and rainy but we enjoyed our stay so much! Easy drive to Boone and easy to get to the stores if you need to but far enough away from everything to have the peace and quiet and rest!

Peace and Quiet
Property is in perfect location for those looking to go tubing - it's just up the hill from Todd Park which is a designated drop-in point. The property is also perfect for rock hounds - there's a little bit of everything in the small creek that feeds the pond and lines the front side of the property. As far as the cabin goes, if you're looking for high-end mountain luxery, look somewhere else. If you're looking for a cabin with rustic charm and interesting features then this is your place. I'd also say it's better suited for a family with young children than it is a group of adults - there's lots of little nooks for them to play, hangout and sleep. My only real disappointment was the lack of a dishwasher.

Rustic
Was surprised beds were not made up. Linens were left on top of beds for us to make. One bed did not have a flat sheet. The linens smelled very musty. Strong ursine odor in bathroom by kitchen. Could hear mice in walls at nice. A Dead mouse found in closet. The use of plugin air air freshener was a bit overwhelming. The. Stove was small. Cushions on porch chairs very old and dirty. Beds were squeaky. The grandkids enjoyed the loft area and creek.

Great stay!
My husband and I stayed with our 3 and 7yr old and really enjoyed all this home had to offer. The neighbors old dog is a lovely welcoming committee. We thoroughly enjoyed her playing the the creek and sitting by the fire with us. The kids played in the creek, catching crawdads and making mud pies. We fished the pond (caught 2 bass and a sunfish after 2 days of trying) and made good use of the porch with morning coffee, dinners (charcoal grill was great) and reading on the swing. We had cooler weather which was perfect for using the woodstove. Firewood was provided which we appreciated. The home is well stocked with plenty of towels and things like toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap etc. No dishwasher, so paper plates are a must. Oven is small, but works fine. Just plan ahead on meals that will fit! Also note, the fridge is newer than the one pictured so does not have a water/ice machine any longer. Plenty of ice trays in freezer however. Lay out of the house is a little odd, as there's an addition, so no sight lines from kitchen to living room, something to note if you have small kids. Didn't bother us however. Upstairs jacuzzi tub was a big hit with the kids. Entry and exit to the property was smooth, never know what to expect on mountain roads, so I was pleasantly surprised. Relatively close to boone and blowing rock. Overall one of the better homes we've rented. Would stay here again!
We had a great time staying at the property for my son's 5th birthday. Our boys and friends boys loved the pond, even though it was to cold to catch anything. The boys enjoyed just casting out into the pond. On our second day, we got to watch the pond freeze over, as it got colder, and we could see it freeze during the day.
The porch was our favorite place. The house has some amazing lighting on the creek that runs by the porch that makes for great ambiance, lighting and rushing water. The adults enjoyed this spot when the kiddos went to sleep. The kiddos enjoyed making smores on the porch. The house had the cutest little nook that had some blocks already there for the boys to play with.
As other reviewers mentioned the rooms may seem small, but we had two families in the house and felt like we had plenty of room. The owner is very responsive and helpful with any questions, even left a gift certificate for Todd Merchitile. We let boys pick out a sweet treat, and puzzle. It is right down the road from the house, the baked goods were great.
We also enjoyed walking around the park at the end of the road, very serein and beautiful. An easy walk for our kiddos who ranged from 2 - 5 years old.
The only thing that I would have changed about our stay is I would have brought paper plates. So, we didn't have to wash dishes as there isn't a dishwasher. But wasn't a big deal.
If you are looking for a home that is surrounded by nature, this is a great place. The sweet neighbor dog might come and visit too, who has a collar that says don't feed, which we got a good laugh at!
This was our 2nd year staying at this house! We love it. It's extremely clean, feels like you're home as soon as you walk in, and a perfect central location to anything you're interested in exploring! We love the fact that it doesn't feel like a typical tourist rental. It feels like you're a local enjoying the mountain life.
