Magical property. My daughter and I stayed a weekend in April. The cabin was super comfy and charming. I was worried about the kitchen setup but the appliances provided were more than enough (2 burner induction stove microwave toaster oven.) The bathroom is attached to the main house with private entrance. It felt very private and comfortable. We loved walking the trails.Hosts were incredibly kind and generous with a little gift.

This is a difficult review to write, and I needed to wait a while after my stay to make sure it was fair to the owners. Let me say, that for a cozy cabin get-away, without having to get away, a weekend to unplug from your devices and enjoy the wildlife and nature and a short trip to Westport than this is your listing. Unfortunately, the pictures of the property are, in my opinion, rather dishonest. The first few pictures are not even of the cabin we stayed in. Other pictures do not accurately depict how small the space actually is, and even has pictures of what I assume is the property owners house. If you quickly browse the listing like I did, you will be dissapointed. But if you read through the lengthy description of the property details it is not like they tried to hide anything, but I need to dock points on accuracy of the listing for the pictures, making the space appear larger.During our stay our internet was spotty, you could use it to view E-mails but videos would be a challange. Property owners were VERY NICE. 2 cats and a dog on the property were also very friendly.

We are sad to hear that Matthew was disappointed with his experience. There are no pictures on theVRBO listing of our private home’s interior. We are perplexed as to this reference? It is listed as a cabin, not a cottage so the space is in accordance with the description. We could tell from the outset that Matthew was not a fit for the experience of our 650 square foot rustic cabin. The internet, during his stay, was in the process of being upgraded to fibre, as we did explain to him. The speed was compromised at that time and was beyond our control. To make a formal complaint about this is unfair. The description is intentionally “lengthy “ so as to provide a complete description of the amenities and space provided for our guests. We try our utmost to not create the opportunity for unexpected surprises. Regardless of the STR platform a prospective guest uses we always strongly urge a thorough reading. We have been sharing our 88 acre property for 14 years, year round, to guests from all over the world with over 800 reviews maintaining 4.95 out of 5 stars for 10 years consecutively. This does not occur with deceptive intent or information. We encourage everyone to check out these reviews on a more widely used platform to discover more accurate and reliable reviews. Not everyone is suited to a rural experience and we encourage those folks to seek accommodation that is more ubiquitous. Best wishes to you Matthew in finding what you are looking for in the future.

Honestly a magical weekend. Rustic and relaxed, a perfect place to unplug. The hosts are lovely and found the perfect balance of being around if we needed something and leaving us to our own time and space. Looking forward to go back in another season to experience the beauty of this place through a different lens.

Amazing

The stay was amazing, we were initially apprehensive about the lack of washroom in the cabin but the guest bathroom was fantastic and so close-by to the cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable and the fire made the cabin nice and warm despite the subzero temperatures outside. The property has has spectacular views we only wish we could've stayed longer.

Tracey and Hernan are top notch people, and they offered us a lovely place to relax. An 80 acre farm where you can walk through well maintained trails to see their lovely horses and nature. The hosts are there if you need anything, always helpful, and cordial. The cabin its cozy and beautiful! It has an amazing and secluded deck area to relax, and play with their friendly cats. Its a beautiful well maintained place, and we loved there. Thank you Tracey and Hernan for your hospitality and your nice and thoughtful gifts. Silvia, and Peter St. Pierre

We will go back!

Thank you, Tracey and Hermann, for a marvellous post-Christmas relax-vacation! You've created a cozy cabin getaway on your gorgeous property and we enjoyed every minute we stayed at Le Temps Perdu. We appreciated the quiet for reading, drawing, playing games and napping; the long invigorating walks with our mutt (who discovered a real affection for horses); and the stimulating conversations with you both - our warm and generous hosts. We look forward to our next visit. For now, all the best in 2020! ~ Peter and Diane ... and Bella.

Beautiful cottage and property

We loved our stay at this cottage. The property was beyond beautiful, with many trails to discover. We hiked to Foley Mountain with breath tracking views, as well as a canoe ride just down the street, which Hermann provides you the canoe for a rental fee. Nothing bad to say, other than a private washroom would be preferred as we felt we had to be quiet while in there, and that the shower wasn't geared towards tall people, having showers as its a handheld shower hose with no curtain. Hosts were beyond friendly and we would gladly go back in the future.

Stunning property

We enjoyed a 5 day 4 night stay in the guest cottage. Beautiful property with many trails to hike on the property as well as other wonderful scenic hikes nearby. We took advantage of the canoe rental where Hermann brought the canoe down to the lake and picked it up once we were finished for the day. The cottage was cute and quaint but wishing we had a private washroom. We felt the need to be quiet as we could hear chatter from inside as the bathroom is an add on to their home (although a beautiful bathroom!). The shower was also an issue for us as although the tub is wonderful, the shower aspect not so much. Having a hand held shower hose and no curtain to contain the water, we felt uncomfortable bathing. We loved the cottage and the woodsy feel it felt, the stairs leading up to the bedroom are quite steep, and could pose issue to people with knee issues. Overall, hosts were great, property was great and we had a lovely time.
