This is a perfect getaway cabin. Clean, well appointed and offers terrific views. The gravel driveway is steep so if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, take that to the cabin.

We're so glad you both had an amazing getaway! Thank you for your kind words about the cabin and our hospitality! It was a pleasure hosting you and we'd be happy to welcome you back anytime!
The best part of this cabin is the covered deck with a nice Mountain View. The gravel road to the cabin is narrow and rough and a 4 wheel drive would be helpful .

From the owner: “We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, and especially the covered deck; it's one of our favorite spots, too! We have had a lot of rain in the area recently, which delayed our road maintenance, but it's since been graded and taken care of. We hope to welcome you back again soon!”
It was a great cabin, very private and easy to get to Blowing Rock and the downtown.

Thank you so much for being such great guests and for your kind review! That is also precisely what we like about Mountainside-Very secluded and quiet, yet just minutes away from the charming town of Blowing Rock with its fabulous restaurants, unique little shops, trout pond, the historic Glenn Burney hiking trail, and beautiful park complete with Pickle ball courts and gardens! Being so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway means access to amazing trails with waterfalls, Nearby Boone offers that energetic college-town vibe, local craft breweries, Stick Boy Bakery, and the iconic Mast General Store. We'd be thrilled to host you agian anytime!
This property is a gem. We loved sitting out relaxing on the porch. Perfect property to unwind and recharge. Would highly recommend!

From the Owner: "We're so glad to hear that! There's nothing better than coming back to a cozy spot after a day on the trails. Thanks for staying with us. We hope it helped you recharge and relax! We would love to welcome you back anytime!"
Nice private cabin in the woods, comfortable, the drive off of the main road is a bit difficult unless you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It is not paved and very narrow, once you get to the cabin there is very little room to maneuver the car. The land immediately behind the cabin is very overgrown, would have been nice to have space as a play area. It was peaceful and we enjoyed our stay.

From the owner:"Thank you for your feedback. We truly appreciate your understanding, as we have literally had rain almost every day—some days all day—which has prevented our yard service from being able to cut the grass as scheduled. The heavy rain has also impacted the condition of the road, though we are working to improve this as soon as weather allows. We’re glad you chose to stay with us and hope to welcome you back under sunnier skies!"

Perfect stay
My, son, dog, and husband enjoyed celebrating father's day at your cabin. It exceeded expectations. Our favorite part other than the porch was the ability to get to blowing rock so quickly while still being completely secluded from others. We will bookmark this and hopefully visit again!

My wife and I stayed here the first weekend of April and had a great time. The cabin is well stocked and maintained and has a gorgeous view off the porch. It is perfect for a couple or small family and we would definitely recommend this cabin! It was perfect for what we were looking for!

From the owner: "Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We love that you enjoyed the cabin and the breathtaking view from the deck. It’s also one of our favorite things about the cabin too! It’s always great to know guests had a relaxing time. We’d love to welcome you back anytime for another peaceful getaway!"
The area is beautiful! We missed the road to the switchback at first and we were shocked by how steep it was, even reading other reviews, it was a surprise. The cabin is tucked away and was a perfect size for my husband and me and our dog. We enjoyed time on the deck looking out to the mountains and listening to nature. I was longing for a hammock or lounger and would've taken several naps out there. The location of the cabin was set perfectly between two towns for shopping, dining or general sight seeing. We took a drive up to Grandfather Mt. A must see!Our 5 days here in mid July, was the reset we needed. Thanks again.

From the owner: "Thank you so much for your kind words! We are thrilled you enjoyed the cabin, the deck views, and exploring the area. Our road may feel steep at first, but compared to Grandfather Mountain’s road, which has a much steeper grade and tighter switchbacks, it is a gentler climb. We are glad you made the trip and had the reset you needed. We would love to have you back anytime!"
It was a very cute, secluded cabin that is a short drive to hiking, dining, and tourism. It was perfect for me and my spouse, and we hope to be back before too long
