Really lovely chalet with wonderful hosts
Very comfortable and nicely decorated- the fully equipped kitchen is amazing and we really appreciated Jo looking after our dog whilst we went cycling! Thank you
Very welcoming hosts and a beautifully presented property. Well-appointed with a very generous welcome pack. Great location for walking into Tenterden, which is a lovely town, and good access to many interesting locations and things to do in the local area.

Thank you for such a lovely review. You were lovely guests and we would love to see you again.
We love Tenterden anyway but The Pavillion was the icing on the cake for us . It was like being home from home and we felt relaxed and on holiday the moment we arrived . The location in the grounds was private and not overlooked. It even had a secret garden !! We loved it and our dog Daisy loved it just as much. We will definitely return .

Romantic hideaway
Nice small summerhouse in the owners beautiful garden. Fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils you need to make a gourmet meal. Wood burner for the colder evenings and BBQ outside with charcoal ready to go. Lots to see around walked to Tenterden about 20" lots of nice shops, steam trains and museums we did the old dairy brewery tour which was great with big samples I don't drink beer but still enjoyed. Visited canterbery, Leeds Castle, vineyards and beaches. Everything great although the TV is too far from sofa to watch maybe a bit of rearrange of the furniture would be a good idea. Would definitely go back if in the area and will reccomend to other couples.

Thank you Shereen for such a lovely review and glad you enjoyed your stay. When designing the Pavilion we wanted to ensure the floorspace was as open plan as possible to provide a sense of space. After several attempts at furniture moving, we felt the current layout best suited the room. Guests are most welcome to move the sofa closer to the TV should they wish if their visibility is hampered by the current lay out. We do hope you will come and visit again.

Wonderful!
We loved our weekend staying at The Pavillon. The property was a good size, tucked away within the grounds of the owner's house. It's newly decorated and was very fresh, light and very romantic! The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed. Jo and Simon couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating and the local area had a lot to offer with Chapel Down winery and the lovely town nearby. Highly recommended!

Why they chose this property
Brunger House is Grade 2 Listed and was built in c1540. It is of historic interest. Brunger House was formerly known as Brungar Farmhouse and features in the book ‘Timber & Brick Building in Kent’ by Kenneth Gravett (1971); “Crow-Stepped gables are found on a group of buildings in Tenterden, all dated by Lloyd to the period 1530-1540, although it is possible thy are a little later. Brungar Farm is entirely in brick with one stepped gable, moulded brick windows and a different gable to the porch. Although the brickwork is, correctly English Bond, the windows have been altered along the front and it is possible that this house was once partly timber-framed like Bax Farm, or even an earlier timbered house reconstructed”. It is rumored that Brunger was once a Dower House to Hales Place, Tenterden. The Master Bedroom has a piece of original plaster that has been framed with artwork detailing the initials EH, dated 1615 which is a reference to Edward Hales, son of John Hales, MP & Baron of the Exchequer.
We moved to Tenterden in January 2013 after Jo fell in love with the house & garden. Jo’s Mum, Pat and her Border Terrier Snoopy live in Brunger Cottage, just a few meters away from the main house. Since moving here, the Cottage has been renovated & we are just starting to make some internal improvements to the main house. This will provide further accommodation options for our guests in the future.
The original Wisteria covered Pavilion was a charming addition to Brunger House but was not suitable for renovation to a holiday let. We are confident that the new Pavilion will look just as quaint as it ages over the years and the Wisteria starts to grow again.
