The apartment exceeded all our expectations. Very well equipped, tastefully furnished and with a balcony view to match the best in the Med’.The weather helped of course, but had we been trapped indoors for the week we could not have hoped for greater comfort.
We had a lovely time here but there is so much to do on this island we only scratched the surface of places to visit. We had a pleasant time in this flat even with a visit to the hospital for a scheduled operation.
For all that the listing was accurate, the property actually under promised and over delivered! The views were incredible, and we woke up every morning looking out across the sea The balcony offered outside seating where we enjoyed our morning coffees (and one tea) every single day - we were extremely lucky with the weather and made full use of the opportunity. We had a couple of quick questions for our host and Martin replied almost immediately, providing additional details and recommendations.Add to this a short walk down to the the Spyglass Inn and a the only Co-Op with parking I've ever encountered and you have an ideal location.I highly recommend both the property and the host.
We love the island and the place we have stayed at has too our previous stay
I do recommend anyone looking at this place to book without hesitation as the views are breathtaking.
This very pleasant and well-equipped apartment is located in a quiet area and shops, restaurants and the beach are within a short walk's reach. And we can but join in the praise of the incredible view it offers, which allowed us to enjoy the sea also on the one or two rainy days of our stay. Certainly hope to return!
Stayed here for a week 14th September to 21st September. Had the most wonderful holiday. This apartment is so lovely. It has everything you need for a perfect home from home stay and the views are outstanding. Everything is provided even down to welcome biscuits and milk in the fridge. We did not want to come home and will definitely return. Thankyou for a fantastic stay.
See you soon 😊
Larger than it looks and the view is spectacular.
Would definitely would book again.
Bed was sooo comfy as well which is always a worry.
The apartment had everything that you needed
The property was fantastic with an idyllic location. The balcony at the back overlooks the sea so a perfect place for a morning cup of tea. Plenty of towels, crockery and cutlery in the apartment as well as two good sized bedrooms with plenty of storage. Shops a five minute walk and lots of lovely walks and exploring on the door step. The roads around are very steep so be careful when driving with a fully laden car. Lots of lovely beaches a short drive away and Ventnor’s own beach just down the road.
Overall a wonderful place to stay and would happily rebook again for another holiday.
This apartment was a nice peaceful base to explore the Isle of Wight. The seafront, bus stops and shops were a few minutes' walk away, and the sea views - particularly from the little balcony - were fantastic. The shower wasn't an issue for us and worked perfectly. Some areas could have done with a deeper clean and we would have appreciated a dishwasher tablet or two, but overall we had everything we needed to comfortably enjoy our stay.
WiFi wasn't working when we arrived. I had to reboot the router. The TV wasn't working when we arrived. New batteries in the remote solved the problem.
No other issues. We had a lovely holiday and the apartment has truly beautiful views down to the beach & out to sea. We would stay there again.
Well equipped property with wonderful view of Ventnor Bay from sitting room and bedrooms. Was great to sit out on the balcony and enjoy it.
It was not clear where to put waste outside, since the property only seemed to have its own general waste bin and no recycling wheelie bin or food waste bin.
Sofa was hard and uncomfortable.
Difficult to get the shower to a suitable temperature for use.
Water from hot taps was far too hot. Would have preferred a light-weight duvet in the height of summer.
Overall a good place to stay.
This property well sites to give good views over the English Channel. The Veranda is really good to sit on for Breakfast if the weather is good!! The beds are really comfortable and warm . Good quality linens!! The bathroom is good although a bit small . The shower is great !! The kitchen has everything you need. Parking is off road and set for the property. Although there are three apartments in the block, we found it nice and quiet. The walk into town is a bit steep down the hill but worth the effort when you get to the pubs and shops . Really enjoyed the stay there and would recommend anyone looking for a nice place to stay to try this place !!
Loved almost everything about this property. Interior was perfect for us. One or two small niggles: Shower in main bathroom didn't work, however loads of hot water was a great compromise. Oven was slow to reach temperature so cooking was difficult to time. Parking was sometimes an issue as another resident had a vehicle about 3 feet longer than the designated parking bay. We didn't let any of these issues spoil our stay and would happily return.
Spacious apartment in a great Location & amazing views
Lovely spacious apartment equipped with everything you would need with amazing views. loved Ventnor some great places to eat and drink Yes there is a steep hill to the apartment and if you had mobility issues you would probably have to drive the very short distance down the hill and park on the sea front, but not a problem for us and I don't class us as the fittest people around. Ventnor town has plenty of places to stock up on your basics plus a few interesting shops - the town is also easier to access by foot as you cut out most of the hill. It was our first but not last visit to the isle of wight and found the location great for getting around the island by car, but did notice what appeared to be a very good bus service which would do the same.
Very pleased with almost everything. A couple of things need a little attention, but there were no show stoppers. The blinds in the lounge didn't work - I think they had just come off their runners, and a couple of hooks in the bathroom would have been useful. I recommend a torch if you are walking back at night as the entrance to the parking area has some potholes. The allocated parking place is the 5th one in. It is marked, but when we arrived the dustbins were obscuring the marker.
The apartment overlooked the bay and we had great views. It was quiet. A short walk to the Esplanade and the town. Ventnor has some really great restaurants, but booking is essential for evenings.
We have already booked for next year!
The pictures for this apartment does not do it justice. The apartment is a lot bigger than it looks and the views are breath taking. Being able to see the Sea from all of the rooms apart from the bathroom was amazing. We could even hear the sea which was wonderful, especially to hear as you go to sleep. The apartment was so close to Ventor it made it possible to ditch the car for the week. Spy glass pub was minutes walk away which is a must place to eat and drank at. Ice cream stall a little futher down was also extremly good. The beach was clean and the water very shallow in places, ideal for those who love to swim. As you look out of the villa to the right is a walk along the coast to Steephill Cove, where we was able to hire a Canoe for the hour. The walk was an idea area to spot the Lizards. If I could rate the apartment 6 star I would. Communication was excellent. Thank you Martin for allowing us to check in early. We will definitely be returning.
I highly recommend this lovely apartment in Ventnor. Excellent position with fabulous views over the bay...sit out on the roomy balcony with a coffee or glass of wine and soak up the sound of the waves.
The apartment is well furnished, spotlessly clean and stocked with almost all you could need...but take your hairdryer with you. The beds are very comfortable and made up with good quality cotton bedlinen. In the second bedroom there's a single over double bunk style bed so fine for adults or children.
The kitchen is a good size and well furnished with plenty of cupboards, fridge freezer (a bit noisy), washer, dishwasher, double oven, microwave, etc etc. Enough crockery and cutlery for a huge party!
Decent sized TV in the lounge and good wifi for all the family.
Most people will probably be driving...just a warning that the surrounding roads are very steep with sharp hairpin bends. You do get used to them but it's certainly much easier with automatic transmission.
A tip....if you're going to dine out, you need to think about booking a reservation at least a week before you arrive, even out of the main season. We found the recommendations on TripAdvisor were useful and up to date on what was open and how the restaurants were dealing with COVID precautions.
All in all a super place to stay, we shall definitely rebook when we go back to the Isle of Wight.
Our second visit here, so that says it all.
We did, however, feel that the property could benefit from a deep clean. Bed, towels, bathrooms etc were fine, but windows, blinds and a few other areas were a bit grubby.
Internally the property was clean, tidy and well equipped.
The outstanding features were the balcony and the sea view.
We found the road closures throughout the area, including Bath Road, a real inconvenience, though of course these problems are in no way the fault of the host.
