On Joe's Pond (small lake), private dock, nice size deck with gas grill. Plenty of kitchen necessities, comfortable chairs and beds. Roomy for a family with water interests. Less than half mile protected trail walk to town.

The property has a lovely view, unfortunately it had been raining so didn’t really get to use the deck. It has everything you need and is clean and comfortable and nicely located. Not as serene as other lakes as there is some traffic noise during morning and evening commute times but nice and quiet at night. It was a great place to stay for two nights and enjoy the beautiful foliage before resuming travel. Bed, couch and kitchen table were comfortable and nice to have a washer/dryer. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe there.

We really enjoyed our one week stay at this sweet nothing fancy cabin. The bike trail was lots of fun, both riding and walking, and the lake was a nice relaxing place to just chill for bit. Shower was nice and hot, everything was very clean and orderly, kitchen well equipped. Good location for exploring the little towns nearby. I am an artist so I particularly enjoyed getting a little work done while there.

We were able to meet Marie and she was very nice. The cottage is very well described in the ad and all the amenities in the description worked well. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived. The location directly on the lake is awesome with a very nice dock, grassy beach and deck to sit on. The location on the Lamoille Rail Trail was another plus and one of the reasons we picked this location. Many thanks

This is a beautiful little place on the rail trail. Comfortable, clean, quiet, with a beautiful water view of Joe's Pond. Our son lives close by so he was a good tour guide to see some beautiful foliage and areas. The owners were very responsive to one text we made regarding the house. The rail trail was enjoyed by our dog on many walks with my husband (some with me!). A few things I would ask the owners about if we were to stay again...Put more lamps/side tables in the house where you could sit in the evening and read. The overhead fan/light combo in the dining room didn't work. If we turned the lights on they flickered terribly, so we had to turn them off and basically eat in the dark in the evening.Replace the bulbs in the bathroom. Invest in a good coffee maker for your guests - a Keurig would have been great. I found a very small one in one of the cupboards, but could not get it to work. But, these are small things! I give it a rating of 5 for those that are looking for a comfortable, very clean, quiet place to rest and relax for a few days - and enjoy walks up and down the rail trail!

June Vacay with the Grandkids

The camp had a wonderful location right on the bike trail, the kids and I rode our bikes daily. The water access was great for the 5 and 7 year olds. We had a great week in spite of 5 days of rain.

ALL THINGS VERMONTY

Great communication with the owners and the house is amazing. The beds are extremely comfy and everything else is more then adequate. This is the perfect spot to forget about the day-to-day craziness. Located in the middle of everything... woodstock, burlington, killington are all a drive away. Highly recommend.

Getaway on Joes pond

Lovely view out the back windows. Internet and TV worked fine. Adequate kitchen area to cook. Had everything we needed for the weekend. It stayed warm inside despite the cool temps. Love the rail trail for walking just at the end of the driveway.

Flooding

The week we were there was the week of the flood. Nothing we could do about that. We made the best of it.

Cute camp on Joes Pond!

Although the weather didn’t cooperate the first few days, we still very much enjoyed our time at Marie’s camp! The camp was more roomy than we thought it would be. Perfect spot for our 2 dogs, nice lawn space and deck with a gate on it. We took advantage of the 2 kayaks on-site. The pond is clean and we caught several fish from the docks and from the kayak - perch, trout, rock bass, and bullpout. We would definitely rent this camp again!

Beautiful location!

With lake views on two sides of this house, the outdoor ambience of this rental can't be beat. The house reminded me of my family's old lake camp in the mountains, where the furnishings are tired, but the family doesn't notice, bcuz it's home. The older I get though, a good mattress and a supportive sofa are helpful to these old bones.Toss in some curtains and we've got comfort. The appliances are newer and worked well, but the dishes were mismatched and chipped, again giving lake camp vibes. We enjoyed our stay and again, perfect setting!

Oldie but a Goodie

The cottage was as pictured but then I realized the bathroom was not pictured. It was functional but very cramped and not great for big people like my football player son. It could also use a deep clean. Mattresses could be updated as well. Otherwise, it’s a very pretty spot and was convenient for visiting our friends nearby as well as sightseeing. Did not expect to do laundry before handing to the airport so plan ahead for that!

Beautiful cabin and location was priceless! Needs well fixed!

The cottage was beautiful and Marie wonderful! I have stayed at numerous camps in VT every year for the past 30 years, with well water with zero issue. However there was an extreme problem with the well water with an extreme sulfur smell whenever water used at all. The smell and the fact that the water was non potable and led to nausea really negatively impacted our experience. On the bright side the extremely kind Marie indicated she would look into it. I would not stay until the well is fixed. We had to bring in water for washing drinking cooking

Hi Lori, Sorry you had a problem with the water. I've ordered tests (though given the floods, results might not be quick). As I mentioned to you, no one in the years of renting has every complained about the water, even given the flooding of the past two years and it is fully booked in the summer (mostly returning renters) and often long term renters in the winter. It was a very wet spring, so it's possible there was some issue while you were there, but hopefully the testing will provide some information. Marie

Christmas getaway

We stayed in this property over Christmas. The pictures online are a fair representation of what the property looks like, but there are a lot of easy maitenance issues that could easily make the property look better cared for (peeling wallpaper, appliance age/disrepair, cracked mirrors and glass, etc.) The beds were very comfortable, the washer and dryer were new and very useful, and the heating unit was very efficient. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the evidence of mice in mainly the silverware drawer, but also the drawers below it as well. It's hard to be too upset about this because of course mice are going to come into a home in a cold weather climate during the winter - it's unfortunate the place of entry was the silverware drawer. The host was responsive to this issue in advising me how to handle it, but it was a frustrating way to start a vacation. There was no follow up from the host regarding the mice and no attempt to remedy the situation other then to tell us what we could do to try to clean it up ourselves.

Gorgeous all year round!

We were pleasantly surprised that the cottage was more spacious than the pictures had lead on. Everything you need is at your finger tips with a gorgeous view out the back windows! Only about 15/20 minutes to St Johnsbury with cute stores and coffee shops or about 40 minutes to Stow. We are already talking about when we can plan another trip to the cottage!

Exquisite cabin right on the lake

The owner of this house was very accommodating with us, as we needed a home in our bi-costal move rather than a vacation. I was totally surprised by how sweet the home was - basic and down to earth - but with everything we needed. The view of the lake during the mornings was precious. I love this little home!
