The venue was stunning, beautifully located and felt so calm and relaxed after Christmas.Everything you could think of in the kitchen, and multiple places for the family to stretch out in.Frances and Henry were so helpful, and the location to watch the winners roll in from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race was very special.Looking forward to another visit!Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Tucked away from the rest of the world, this is a glorious beach house overlooking Opossum Bay, Tasmania. Truly an amazing home to relax and play with family and friends. We are already making plans to come back.
Travelling from WA and NSW and joining family in Hobart, we enjoyed a 5 night christmas holiday in a house that easily accommodated 8 staying and 16 for a boxing day lunch. Young adults enjoyed the 8 ball table and kyaks while everyone joined in a beach cricket match after lunch. Saltcotes was just what we were looking for.
What more can I say than ........ it's magical the location the house ,the setting .... couldn't think of a better way to spend the long weekend with
Family and friends ,food ,wine and a dreamy location in the perfect house !

Hey Kate you were 5 star guests! I was so sorry to hear of your gripe with VBRO and I really can''t understand why there were delays in refunding your bond. It is an automated process and totally controlled by Homeaway and not by us and usually refunds are received promptly. You guys were perfect guests and I was so thrilled that you all had such a fabulous time that you intend making it an annual get together at Saltcotes! You are welcome back anytime! Warmest regards Frances and Henry.
We had an amazing week with friends at saltcotes. A really family friendly house with so much to do. We loved exploring the beach and south arm peninsular and relaxing with good food and friends around the fire pit. The house is so beautiful and had everything we could possibly need. We hope to be back. Thank you Frances

Fiona + family + friends were wonderful guests making the most of Saltcotes, the beach and the beautiful peninsula. We would welcome you back anytime Fiona! Warmest regards Frances and Henry
We had a great time with family. Plenty of walks up the beach and over the headland. Fish a plenty off the beach and out to Betsy Island. Spacious house. Very clean and tidy. Enjoyed 8-ball and the record player. Comfortable! Great kitchen and dining area. Loved the fire. Lots of room for all 10. We wish we had of booked for a few weeks!Oh, and the winter solstice swin right on sunup was amazing. We are now making it a yearly thing... and no, we were not nude!
We had a fantastic stay at Salcotes at the end of March this year. With a split group of golfers and non-golfers, we wanted somewhere to relax and enjoy the views of Opossum Bay. Saltcotes is a beautiful house, somewhere you could imagine writing a book or enjoying a family holiday. It's great for entertaining too, with so much space, facilities and a record player with some classic hits to play on it. The garden is huge, and the walk along the beach was delightful. Frances is a superstar; she was there to ensure our food delivery went into the fridge and made sure our stay was perfect. We plan to come back with kids. Highly recommended!
Stunning location, smooth check in, flexible friendly host, wonderful beach house for 10 adults. High quality furnishings and bedding. Highly recommend
We had a magical stay at Saltcotes! From the moment we set foot on the property we knew it was going to be the highlight of our Tasmanian trip! Not only gorgeous, but also comfortable with all the creature comforts you could ask for and more! All the bedrooms and bathrooms were beautifully appointed and the living area was fantastic with multiple huge lounge chairs to fit our whole party comfortably. The location is fantastic, just steps from the beach (which felt like a private beach most of the time!), and a great base from exploring Hobart and its surrounds. We loved the South Arm, with a great local Cafe, wonderful community markets and close to a great Tasmania grocer. Amazing communication from Frances who welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. We hope we have the opportunity to stay at this wonderful property again. Thank you for sharing it with us!
What a beautiful home and stunning location on the beach...serenity +...that is what it feels like from the moment you walk in. Exceptional attention to all necessities and some luxuries needed for a perfect holiday...kitchen was well equipped, even garden herbs to use, comfortable lounge and bedroom areas, modern bathrooms, fire with all the wood you need, and a hidden gem...a vinyl record player with excellent sound system. Neither we or our friends wanted to leave. Frances was an amazing host too...we hope to be back!!!! Cannot recommend this enough. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home away from home Frances and Henry
Incredible accommodation and stunning views to make a stay memorable
A big, spacious comfortable home with lots of thougtful details that make a stay memorable.
Amazing views and direct access to the beach were just the beginning. The home had an actual chefs kitchen complete with butler pantry and an all important second fridge so ideal for a family get together for a celebration, loads of equipment and several dining areas, inside and al fresco. Numerous living areas and five comfortable bedrooms as well as three spacious bathrooms.
Large living space with views and excess comfortable seating for a large group, no skimping on facilities either and we were told to use extra linen if needed and to help ourselves to anything from the kitchen garden.
The host was welcoming, generous and a fantastic communicator.
This is a seriously amazing property, highly recommended especially for large family gatherings or friends getting together.
I stayed here with 6 friends and we had the best time. They thought of everything - especially in the kitchen, which had every imaginable utensil and good quality pots and pans and… well everything really! The house was clean, there was plenty of space for all of us, the fire had plenty of wood stacked and was roaring when we arrived. Amazing sound system and pool table provided much entertainment. We plan to come back next year! Thanks so much.
From the word go, Frances was a delight to deal with. Throughout, she was prompt, very polite and concise!
Thanks to Google Maps we had no trouble driving around Tasmania for two weeks, and saved the best (accommodation) for last at Saltcotes Beach House.
The photo’s only just do it justice as it’s not easy to capture the sunsets or quiet at dawn!
Very highly recommended!!
wish we could stay longer. fantastic house, unbeatable location, felt like our own holiday home from the get-go. our host was also helpful and made everything easy.
We rented saltcotes for a long weekend and it was just what we as post COVID lockdown Victorians needed. The most superb views throughout the house, really comfy and homely with lots of personal touches and close to everything you may need. Big recommendation from all of us!
