Allure Beach Retreat - Privacy, Nature, Direct Beach Access

Wake up to the sound of the waves in your own private eco retreat with direct access to Pennington Bay, one of the most spectacular beaches on Kangaroo Island. Whether you are a surfer, fisher, or just enjoy walking on pristine white sand, Pennington Bay is one of the hidden gems of Kangaroo Island.

Conveniently located a 20 minutes drive from both the ferry terminal and airport, the beach house is situated in over 50 acres of privately owned, pristine, heritage coastline land and provides you with absolute seclusion. You will think you are the only people on the island, yet a short walk through your own private sand dunes from the beach house and you arrive at the beach.

Accommodation comprises two spacious double bedrooms, one bathroom, well equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Please note, the bathroom is accessed through bedroom 2.

Our configuration is such that we are most suited to couples, families and lone travellers. We can only accommodate a maximum of 4 adults.

The property is fully "off-grid" with a combination of solar with back up battery power.

Please note there is an outside BBQ, and inside cook top/hob although no oven.

Food platters can be arranged either for your arrival, or during your visit with two weeks' notice.

Every aspect of our 3 nights at Allure matched or exceeded expectations. Information received from Antonia & communication with her was very good.Pennington beach nearby is a superb surf spot, and Allure is a short walk away, and has commanding views, especially from the 'sundowners deck' up on the hillside above the house. (Sunset highly recommended)Wildlife is plentiful, roos & wallabies of course and plenty of birds that come in for a drink from the bird bath outside the kitchen. Even the wallabies drank there!Kitchen ammenities were pretty good, and outdoor dining is wonderful. As well as an indoor fire there's a big outdoor firepit also. Bedrooms we'll set up and "open view" bathroom was great.Highly highly recommend Alure

Perfect Honeymoon

My husband and I stayed at the Allure Beach Retreat for our honeymoon! We cannot imagine celebrating our marriage anywhere else. We had the most magical walks down to the beach, sips of coffee on the deck, bird watching, and much more. The space is well equipped with everything you need to kick back and relax, and feel like you’re staying in a high end relaxing resort. We hope to. Come back one day

Didn’t want to leave!

House was perfect, off the grid, clean and lots of room. For us nature lovers, it was amazing. All around us were beautiful birds, wallabies and kangaroos. Location was ideal to travel to different areas of the island. Well furnished and kitchen had everything we needed. We visited Australia for a month and this location was the highlight of our trip. Only regret is not staying at this location longer. Host was very easy to communicate with.

Relaxing stay

We loved our time here. Everything we needed for our family of four, with a fantastic view and peaceful setting. Very relaxing and away from it all. We caught fish from the beach and enjoyed day trips to the island’s highlights. Lovely at the end of the day to come back to this place and enjoy the view, the sunsets, the bath, the wallabies, roos and goannas and nights relaxing with the family.

You can stay luxurious while enjoying KI wilderness

It was amazing. The location is spot on for ocean views, sky gazing, beach swims, walks, peace and quiet and getting around KI places. Super clean, done with class and funk. During hot days bring a portable fan :)

Close to perfect

This was an amazing property in the most beautiful place imaginable. The house was just amazing and you could sense the connection the owner had to it but also to the area. It was a real privilege to stay there. Everything was easy and perfect from the first contact to the accurate instructions. There was not anything that could make it more perfect than it is.

A little patch of paradise

This wonderful property exceeded all expectations. It's position in the dunes protects it from cold winds that might blow from up from Antarctica whilst still affording the most wonderful views of the bay - even from the bathroom! The house is very comfortable and the well chosen, eclectic décor immediately made us feel at home. To look out of the windows in the early morning and see kangaroos and a variety of birds was a daily treat. Although we had admired the bay from the house, we were not prepared for the beauty of the beach, a short walk through the dunes. To have such a place to oneself was another treat.

My first trip to KI

Upon entering the house I was immediately pleased with and impressed by it. The location is priceless and I rate the privacy extremely highly. A stunning view is seen from the front verandah and the bathroom. We enjoyed seeing the Wallabies eating the grass around the house at night time. Despite having the keys for the doors I was only able to open the sliding door to the kitchen. Attempts on the other doors proved unsuccessful. A Tomahawk or Axe would be a good addition (if allowed) for cutting kindling for the wood fire, There was only enough for 2 nights of successful fires. I would love to return again to such a peaceful place for future holidays. Worth every cent. Thank you Thank you to all of those involved in making Allure exist and sharing it with people like me who appreciate the environment in which it sits.

Absolute Private and Stunning Serenity

Being newlyweds, we wanted to spend our honeymoon on our favourite island destination. We wanted to have some privacy to soak up the love high and Allure was the perfection location! This beautiful home was very homely and comfortable, and the view was simply breathtaking! We felt as though we were completely secluded, yet only a few minute walk to the stunning Pennington Bay beach. What made our stay even better was the fact that we could bring along our much loved pooch. This was our number one must for our honeymoon location! She loved the quietness and being surrounded by nothing but nature. Just a heads up there is very limited access to internet, but that’s was we loved about it! Being “off grid” and away from reality for while. Communication between the owners was super easy and they were very prompt with their responses. We were thrilled with the grazing board that was provided for us upon our arrival. Note: we paid extra for this and would certainly recommend organising one on your stay. We will 100% be staying again when we next organise a trip to this beautiful island.

Ideal private location between Penneshaw and Kingscote with an amazing surf beach (constant 1m waves, white sand and clear blue water) around 10 minutes' walk away (from door to water), and fantastic views, including from the bathroom.While we ate out for most meals, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the combustion heater keep everyone cozy over the cool nights. The property is well stocked with anything you could need.Highly recommend this location and will book again.

School holiday get away

Tried somewhere different after staying at island beach a few times. Location is brilliant, beautiful bushland, wildlife and magnificent coastline. close to pennashaw, cygnet river and Kingscote for convenience, but may as well be in the middle of nowhere. Could not rate this stay highly enough. Will definitely try and come back.

Once again fabulous

This was our third time staying at Allure Beach Retreat and it was as wonderful as we remembered. The views, the privacy, the woodfire, the artworks and reading material meant we were reluctant to head off exploring. We had 'our' very own wild beach a 5 min walk away and were nestled and cosy amongst the dunes when we returned. The home was spotless and the bed super comfortable. A glorious place.
