Very clean and good location

We rented this property for the location and the water access. We found the property very clean, it is more than likely the cleanest we have rented over the years. It had all we needed and we enjoyed our stay. We paddle board so being able to drop the boards off the dock was great.

We had a lovely stay. Our goal was to fish and relax every day which is exactly what we did. The house was perfectly clean with everything we needed. To conserve energy, the AC was off when we arrived. The temperature was 91 degrees inside. It took overnight to cool to 78. We had no issues with anything else. The property owner was extremely responsive and friendly. We would definitely rent again!

Enjoyed the location. Perfect neighborhood for riding our bikes and walking the dog. Didn’t have an opportunity to use the pool as weather didn’t coooerate but it was clean and well maintained.

Return to Pine Island

It was an honor to stay in the Captain’s comfortable house. Loved the neighbors and the fenced in yard. But attention is needed to details; there wasn’t enough silverware and some other items needed to be purchased. But until the water situation is better and they no longer are draining Lake Okechobee we sadly can’t return to Pine Island.

Great location; great pool!

Overall we had an excellent experience. I would give it a 8 and would go back as it is. The house has a great layout and the pool/dock area was wonderful. The kitchen layout was great and had all the right pots/pans/gadgets. The owner was very helpful when we were having trouble getting into the streaming options and getting ahold of a neighbor when they had an alarm going off.Some of the things that dropped my rating:1. AC was set to go no lower than 76. Ceiling fans helped but it would get stuffy at night. Consider a different thermostat that lets you set the temp a little lower at night.2. upgrade the living room seating. Very old and uncomfortable. We would go to bed early bc it was so uncomfortable.3.replace the toaster oven and toaster. Couldn't make toast.4.The mattress in the main bedroom should also be replaced soon, as it sags to the middle.When those issues are resolved, it'll be.a 10. These are minor issues and we'd go back again as is. Just trying to give some helpful feedback. It was a great week!

Our family visited in February of 2024. We had an absolutely wonderful time during our stay. First off, the direct acess to Pine Island Sound made getting anywhere by boat very fast. The house is only a 6 min boat ride from open water. Easily our favorite part. We could go anywhere we wanted very quickly. We especially loved seeing the dolphin family at the canal entrance many times. The house was cleaned and maintained very well. It met our needs perfectly. As pictured, the 3rd bedroom is small, but worked perfect for a child looking to have a separate sleeping area. (At the time of our visit, the room did not have a door, but I understand the owner is in the process of replacing it.)We really enjoyed the screened in upper deck, which offers a great view around. The house also has a great sitting area around the swimming pool that we used frequently. The swimming pool heater worked very well in combination with the pool cover. We enjoyed come back from boat rides to a warm swimming pool.We had a couple questions for the owner while there and Roy was very responsive. He took care of everything very quickly. In short, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back here in the future. We loved our time here.

Home was clean and offered a lot of features for the price. Screened in pool was great for the days we couldn't get to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and had no complaints.

The Perfect Stay

The Captain's House was absolutely perfect. Very clean, plenty of space and everything you need while away from home. The pool and patio area is wonderful. The kids had a blast. Being on the canal and having a boat lift, is perfect for renting a boat literally around the corner. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The restaurants around town are just another perk. We will absolutely stay here again and again.
