About the name Giddy Betsy: Giddy Betsy is a mine that was told to have produced “marvelous riches” on the north slopes of Mount Elbert. According to an old prospector, Giddy Betsy worked the mine for many years until his health declined and he decided to return home. Upon his deathbed he gave his oldest son a simple map and dictated a letter detailing the route to the mine. After Giddy passed, his son was eager to find the mine. They searched many times and returned every summer for a number of years but never located it.

Everything was great. Our only complaint is the king bed on the main level was very very uncomfortable which resulted in less sleep. Everything else was great.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We understand that bed comfort is subjective, as preferences can vary from guest to guest. However, we appreciate your input and will take it into consideration as we strive to provide the best experience possible. We hope to welcome you again in the future!
The cabin was comfortable and close to town. I think the management should allow for a later check out time. 10:00 am is too early. You can't check in until 4:00 pm so a 10:00 am departure seems unreasonable. Yes, you can request a later check out but of course you are charged. I would rent the cabin again if I were attending the festival in Leadville.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the cabin's comfort and location. We do offer a late check-out at no charge, depending on availability. If requested, we would have been happy to accommodate, as there was no guest arriving on your check-out day. We appreciate your stay and hope to host you again for the festival!
