Cabin in Woods but Close to Town

Excellent opportunity to stay at a cabin in the woods but be close to town for conveniences. The home was exactly as the listing said, including clean and complete amenities.

A Comfortable and Relaxing Home Base

The Journey's End was a comfortable and relaxing home base for our six day exploration of the Asheville area and the Great Smoky Mountains. The hosts were accommodating, offering suggested activities and dining recommendations. Our family especially appreciated the kitchen space and the bathroom. Overall, we had an excellent stay.

Casual Asheville and Biltmore Weekend

Beautiful and private outdoor space. Great location off I-26. It is located 30 minutes from Biltmore and Biltmore Village. Beautiful interior to rest in your own space during your travels.

Positive vibes ... plus

This property was just what we needed. Very well maintained, close to where we needed to be, and tranquil. The entire place exudes positive energy, and the decorations are soothing. They have a strict "no noise" policy after 10pm which the owners themselves follow. We slept like logs, to be sure, which is very important with a high activity vacation. Cannot wait to visit again. Lovely mountain home!

We had a lovely stay. The hosts were very, very responsive to all our questions and needs throughout the stay, but they also gave us our own space and privacy to relax (the perfect combo if attentiveness and privacy). The space is beautiful with amazing wood floors, new kitchen with anything you'd need, a spacious sitting area, and a very cool shower. We also enjoyed exploring what their property has to offer. (They are working on some new features that I expect will be awesome when finished!) A couple of things to note for your planning as a guest, there is only one queen sized bed (which was very comfortable), so if you have more than two in your party, plan to use the couch and the cot. If you have a picky back, consider bringing your own air mattress or something you know you like, as the cot didn't cut it for my kiddos. Also note that the family lives upstairs (with young ones) and you will hear them walking above you throughout your stay, so if you want to feel alone and have total silence, maybe this is not the retreat house for you. But if you don't mind happy family-life noises above your head, then you'll love your stay; the place was full of love and warmth.

Excellent not-so-little place! The pictures don’t really show how spacious this property is. So much room to spread out! The bathroom shower is especially lovely. We’d never experienced side-shooting shower heads before and now I’m 100%

Relax

We can all agree that the year 2020, with all of its hardships, stress and anxieties, cannot end soon enough. But for a few days, we wanted time to stand still at The Journey’s End. Ehren and Renee are lovely hosts and the property is beautiful and serene.

Beyond impressed

The Journeys End blew us away!! I knew we’d love it based on pics and reviews but it’s even better in person! The home and setting is absolutely gorgeous, truly a dream spot. The owners are amazing people who have so clearly put their heart and soul into creating a beautiful home for others to experience! They didn’t miss a thing! The furniture and decor-awesome! Every time I looked around I found something else I hadn’t noticed before and it all just flowed and added to the ambience. Whimsical, dreamy, cool, tasteful, relaxing, colorful, spa quality, creative, thoughtful, and I could go on but these were just some of the words that came out of our mouths during our stay. We already know we’ll be back. The serenity we felt while there was unprecedented and we only wish we hadn’t had a schedule and so much to do as we were in N.C. for a wedding. Ehren and Renee are both amazing and joyful people. The care they put into making a beautiful place/space for people to stay is so evident! The spa bathroom is so great and they have every amenity you can imagine right there to use!! The kitchen has EVERYTHING needed as well. I just loved walking into every room and seriously did not want to leave. The view!!!!! Breathtaking. We will be back and next time get to meet Renee and their 3 daughters too! We got to meet Ehren in person but I only got to talk to Renee on the phone. Again, they’re both just lovely sincere people who make you feel so welcomed into their amazing home! Thank you so much for that!! Why would anyone ever want to stay in a hotel when there’s a gem like The Journeys end!?!? I’d rate this place over 5 stars if I could and my husband and daughter agree. Thank you to Ehren and Renee for putting so much of yourselves into your beautiful home and sharing it with others!!! You did an AMAZING job and all your hard work did not go unnoticed!

The area for guests is simply stunning and so accomodating!

The house is simply gorgeous. For two people the place was more than enough. The outside porch and swing was lovely with the views it was almost hard to stay in. The kitchen has everything you could need. Bathroom really spacious. And the bed was comfortable. The house is located perfectly outside of Asheville but not enough to even be bothered with noticing the distance. I would recommend staying here again and again.

2/10 Terrible

Verified traveller

Property nice; noise level terrible.

The apartment is lovely, but our weekend was ruined by the constant noise coming from the owner's household above the apartment from morning til night. There was walking, children running, talking, things dropping, and even yelling during a party, heard from above during our entire stay. I could not fall asleep on Saturday as this went on until 12:30am, and then I was awoken at 4:30am, and then again at 7am Sunday morning. We felt like there was zero consideration for us, the paying customer. Sadly, we couldn't wait to leave. If you are hopeful for a peaceful and relaxing weekend, you'd best not stay at this property.

Unique styling for a daylight basement

This home was very clean and generally well appointed. A few items needed were shades for windows and doors, luggage stands and sound deadening. The noise from the family and kids living upstairs was apparent every time someone walked across the floor above us.

A beautiful, quiet setting a little outside of Asheville.

This beautiful location is just outside of Asheville. It's quiet, comfortable and has all the amenities we needed for our stay. We also discovered Weaverville, which is close by, and enjoyed the small-town atmosphere there. The apartment is spacious and the pictures don't do it justice, in my opinion. The Murphy bed is very comfortable and small details like night lights and extra blankets made our stay even better. If you are a late-sleeper, you might want to sleep on the pull-out sofa as there's no curtains or blinds on the French doors in the bedroom. However, you wake up to a great view there. The kitchen is well-stocked with supplies for meal preparation and the ice maker was nice to have for filling water bottles before hiking. The bathroom has a very nice shower with extra jets and the hot water heater provided plenty of hot water, quickly. We will definitely stay here again! Thank you!

We have dedicated our lives to the service of others and are grateful to be able to now welcome guests to experience the beauty of all this area holds.

Why they chose this property

Our beautiful cabin is located just 20 min from Asheville - 2 min off of interstate 19. We chose this home to be able to enjoy the lush beautiful mountain property, explore outdoor adventure in dozens of regional recreation areas, and have quick easy access into the all Downtown Asheville offers.

What makes this property unique

The space is filled with unique cultural relics. Rare instruments, authentic Cherokee crafts, and ceremonial art can be found throughout. All aspects of the cabin from creating to decor are all placed together with intention and care. The land and space are also a lifelong project for us - as we take each day to continue to evolve it for the pleasure of all who visit.
