About this property
The Sett Cottage, stunning mountain views in heart of Lake District
The Sett is the largest of three self catering holiday cottages in Brackenrigg Barn, our beautiful converted barn. The holiday cottage has everything you need for a wonderful family self catering holiday in Keswick the Lake District.
The woodland close to the barn is home to a family of badgers, which is why we chose the name for this delightful retreat! The Sett retains many original features of the 19th century barn such as open stone walls, exposed wooden beams, and large floor to ceiling windows with stunning views. The cottage is spacious, airy and well appointed. These little details make The Sett an extremely comfortable place to stay.
Have a perfect nights sleep in The Sett with two comfortable bedrooms sleeping four people. There is a master room (13’x11’) and a twin room (19’x11’) . There is a family bathroom with an over bath shower, basin and WC.
After a day on the fells, the spacious open-plan living area is a great place to relax and unwind with two comfortable sofas to sink into. Watch your favourite shows on the 30-inch TV with DVD player, play music via the sound bar, or browse the web using the free fibre broadband Wi-Fi
The open-plan kitchen has plenty of space and is well equipped with everything you need to prepare a feast including oven and halogen hobs, microwave, fridgefreezer, and a dishwasher. There is also a breakfast bar perfect for when you’re in a hurry or feeding the kids.
At the entrance there is a seating area with plenty of space for your outdoor gear. The huge floor to ceiling windows fill the room with light and look out onto the pretty fellside garden with patio, garden furniture and BBQ, and you can watch for red squirrels visiting the feeder close to your cottage! Enjoy the picturesque views to the Helvellyn range from the lounge. Extensive grounds including a children play area with play tower
After a day of muddy good fun, there is a shared laundry room located on the ground floor with washing machine to help you get your clothes clean
NB you can book The Sett together with another cottage by prior arrangement
