The balcony was a dream to sit outside in the evenings and listen to the ocean. The pool was a hit and we used it each day. Both Grandview and Beacons beaches were great but go to Beacons if you like to play in the water. The beach supplies that were included like chairs and a small surfing board were a plus for us. We enjoyed our stay.

This home was spacious and perfect for our family vacation. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with cooking items. We loved the view from the upper deck and the neighborhood was delightful! The private pool was an added attraction not found in many rentals. We will stay here again on our next Encinitas trip!

Great house - comfortable and with everything we needed. The pool was fun as was the ping pong table. Nice deck to relax on and watch the surfers go by. The beach was really only good for surfing and not relaxing or swimming really but it was a great location and we loved it!

Great place near the beach

We loved this place. The house is very well maintained and there is a partial ocean view from a great deck. We loved having the swimming pool and hot tub, but the best part was just having to walk across the street to the beach. I would definitely stay there again!

Awesome House and Experience

Beautiful house with everything you need for a great vacation. Pool is decent size and bigger than we expected. Beach access across the street. Lots of restaurants in the area. Very California experience with surfers passing along the street to the beach all day. Definitely recommend.

GrandView - Amazing!

We had a blast! The house is perfectly located near the GrandView Beach entrance, and the pool and ping pong table were perfect for the kids! I loved the gated driveway - it made us feel secure in an already safe area in Encinitas. The upper story offered awesome Sunset views and a great ocean breeze! All was clean and well stocked when we arrived (towels, blankets, sheets, etc.) and was nicely clean. The owners in the back are cool surfers whose vibe transcends the place - super cool vibe. An amazing week in a surfer's paradise!

This home is beautiful with a fantastic layout. The open main floor flows onto a large wraparound patio, making it a wonderful gathering space. Downstairs are three bedrooms, two baths, and the laundry room. The primary suite is spacious with a king bed and private bath. The second bedroom has a queen, but the third has a full-size bed (not a queen), which is better suited for one adult.Our biggest disappointment was the condition of the home upon arrival. It was extremely hot inside, and we discovered there is no A/C. Although the listing doesn’t advertise A/C, we were told fans would be provided, but they were not. We ended up buying three fans ourselves.The home also was not cleaned to the standard I expected. Floors and headboards had built-up dust, the bedding had dust and hair, the coffee maker was dirty, and the garbage disposal had a persistent odor.We also lost power to one bedroom and the laundry room. It wasn’t repaired until the following evening, and the issue returned two days later. The Ninja blender was also heavily worn despite the listing highlighting newer appliances.While the property management company responded to my calls, I didn’t feel they showed much urgency or empathy regarding the issues we experienced. For a home costing over 6,200 for one week, I expected much better preparation, cleanliness, maintenance, and guest care. This home has tremendous potential, and I truly hope the owner addresses these issues because it could be exceptional.

Nana's 80th Extravaganza

The stay was amazing. It was the perfect getaway weekend trip to celebrate my mom's big 80th birthday as a family. The house had all the amenities and then some. The kids had a blast using the pool every day, which was their favorite part. The beach just down the street and local shops and eateries are close by within walking distance as well. Beautiful sunsets were enjoyed each night on the upstairs balcony with a glass of wine in my mom's hand each time. It's unfortunate that the house across the street has a high-level second story, limiting the ocean views. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Rick, an awesome guy who was able to show us how to turn on the pool jet and waterfalls...thanks again Rick and Julie! Overall, their home was exquisite and I would definitely like to visit again, when possible. Thanks again for helping provide an amazing experience for our family and all of the awesome memories we had experienced together for my mom's 80th birthday weekend celebration!

Just had the best mini vacation before our 7 yo starts school tomorrow. Stayed 4 nights and could have definitely stayed more. The house is BEAUTIFUL. It's large, well kept, and very organized. It has everything you'd need and want for a relaxing and majestic vacation with your family or friends. The beds were very comfortable. The layout of the house was fun and wonderful. The private pool was amazing (heated so perfect temp to swim in at night and in morning). We walked to the beach each day and the drive to a nice swimming beach was only 5 minutes. Highly recommend drinking your morning coffee on the balcony and ordering or making dinner and eating it on the balcony during sun set. We spent a full day at the house on Saturday (no going out or beach time) and it was incredible. The ping pong table board games offered endless fun and each tv has different streaming platforms you can put on when the kids need a break (and the parents too :) ). The stairs in the house were really kid-friendly in my opinion. My 2 year old walked up and down the stairs really easily and safely with the railings. Never felt concerned about falling down the stairs. We ordered our own groceries and made breakfast and lunch each day in the HUGE kitchen. Another enjoyable aspect was the bamboo outside that you could enjoy while eating a meal at the dining room table. OH - and the house offers surf boards and boogies boards, beach umbrellas, towels, and beach toys for guests and we used it all!

Affordable, friendly, and great location!!!

We took the family- older adult children, their spouses, and our 2 grandchildren. We moved our daughter into Cal State San Marcos early in the trip and it was an easy 25 minute drive there. We really enjoyed the large balcony patio with ocean views and watching the surfers coming through each morning and all day. We also spent a little bit of time in the small private pool that has a nice lagoon step for small ones or lounging. The ping pong table was fun and the open living area/kitchen allowed us all to enjoy family time with plenty of space for the grand babies to play too! GrandView Beach is steps away but this beach is mostly rocks and meant for surfing. However, 15 minutes away is one of the best beaches we’ve visited, especially for the grand babies- Moonlight Beach. We walked to dinner and a really cool craft brewery which were easy 10-15 minute walks from the home. It seemed like anything you wanted to do was an easy 15-30 minute drive- escape rooms, restaurants, you name it. There was parking inside the gate for 2 cars. The left is reserved for the owners who stay in the back unit. They were all very friendly and hospitable. There are plenty of towels, including beach towels. The kitchen has all you need to cook. Overall, I don’t think you can find a better place with the view, amenities, and mainly location for the price. Would definitely recommend.

Die Lage des von uns gemieteten Hauses war optimal und sehr schön. Das Haus ist gut eingerichtet. Das Betreten des Hauses mit verschiedenen Zahlencodes war durchaus anstrengend. Hier wäre eine Person vor Ort sicher hilfreich gewesen. Überhaupt war der Umgang mit der Agentur für europäische Verhältnisse etwas unangenehm. Insbesondere hat mich gestört, dass wir uns verpflichten mussten, keinen Besuch zu haben. Das war zwar inhaltlich kein Problem wirkt aber doch eher abstossend.

Great Place to Stay!

This was a great house for our family of 4 - more than enough space, comfortable, walkable to restaurants/shopping, VERY short walk to the beach, waves were nice for surfing too. The front porch with its view of the ocean was where we spent most of our time when we were at the house. Ping pong table was great (and I won the family championship!) Ammenities are great. Super cool and clean bathrooms. Loved the outdoor shower too! Fisher who lives in the adjoining apartment was a really nice "kid" who made us feel welcome. I'll leave only one tiny recommendation just to make the review credible - owners should consider stocking up on more shampoos and soaps for the showers. I mean, that's a tiny detail and the only remotely un-great feature I can think of. This one is a winner! Scott

House Exceeded our Expectations!

We had an amazing stay in Encinitas property right near Grandview beach. The house was managed by Surf Style, who communicated well & was available after hours for emergencies though thankfully we didn't have any. The house was super clean and exceeded our expectations. We were pleased to meet the owners family, the NICEST people and so helpful. Will definitely stay at this house again!

Beautiful location

Overall this was a beautiful home and location. The view was amazing and proximity to the beach was only yards away, however there are 120 steps to get down to the beach so it wouldn’t be good for elderly or disabled individuals. The house was spacious with a great kitchen. The Bbq was dirty and kept flaring up so I cleaned the old grease out. The pool was too cold to swim in; it would be nice if it was heated, maybe some solar panels or something could take care of it. The hot tub was nice. The owners’ twenty something son was there with his 4-5 friends the entire time and they were all very nice but a little noisy as their area was directly above the master bedroom and they were up past midnight walking around. Plus the entrance to the owners area was through the hot tub area so if you’re out there at night it can be a bit off setting to have a young man there bringing beer up at 10:00 at night, but again they were very nice. I would definitely stay here again but would see if it’s possible to not have the kids there at the same time.

Fun with Family

We enjoyed spending this time with family and had plenty of room to spread out. We had so much fun in the pool and the ping pong table was great! We felt very safe in spite of Covid 19. We had a problem with the second bathroom as the shower would only run scalding hot water so could not be used. The first time we called the property manager, the person was not very accommodating. He finally agreed to send a plumber but instead a handyman came in the afternoon and said it could not be fixed because the faucet needed a special part. We called the property manager the next morning and they sent someone else out who said the same thing. The shower was never repaired so we had one shower for 6 people. I reached out to the property manager when I returned home and they agreed to give me a slight refund. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay and the property!

Nice get away

Home is beautiful and it's just across the street from the the stairway to the beach. Kitchen has everything you need and there is plenty of room for the family to spread out and enjoy.

Nice Location, House Could be Cleaner

The location of the house is very nice. It's a pretty busy little street because of the beach access and beach parking. Lot's of locals up and down the street all day long. The beach is a short walk, but since you're up on the bluffs, there are a lot of stairs! Like 150 of them! If you have small children, it can be a little tough getting up and down the stairs. We made the mistake of bringing a wagon with us the first time not knowing how many stairs there were and we quickly learned to bring as little as possible, which again, with small children is tough. The beach is quiet which is nice, especially during the pandemic situation. If the stairs become too hard, there are several beaches a very short drive away, like 2-3 minutes. The layout of the house is nice and it definitely has everything you need. We loved the jacuzzi at night. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of it though. The floors were really dirty. Our feet were black after walking on it for a short time. We ended up keeping flip flops on the whole time. They did come back and clean the floors after we brought this to their attention. The management company was very attentive. Overall, the house just needs some TLC. I realize it's a rental, but the outside furniture on the front patio that overlooks the ocean is stained and ripped, and had cigarette burn holes, the plaster in the pool in the backyard is rust stained and the house could just use a good deep cleaning.

We use vrbo frequently & typically run into issues, but not with this house. No complaints here, it was super clean, more than enough so we can cook for our family of 6, amazing views, beach stairs are literally out your front door. The pool isn't heated but was very warm for our young children to use. Also the owner shares the pool, they were extremely nice & we told them we want to rent next year!!! See you Summer 2021

AMAZING

Incredible home with an incredible location! Recently stayed on the property for a staycation. The home is amazing! Beautiful open layout with TONS of natural light flooding the upstairs. Downstairs stays cool during the hot summer days. Plenty of room to stretch out & relax no matter where you are in the house. Super close to beach access. The only reason I'd give it 4 vs 5 stars. The house was clean but not really COVID cleaned before arrival. Lots of handprints on all of the glass from obvious little ones who were there before us. Gorgeous kitchen with older kitchen amenities but we made due. Plenty of dishes for use. Very limited beach towels but nice options of surf & boogie boards. The owner & family were staying on the property while we were there. Super nice people, but that was a little awkward. Hearing the gate open & shut. Hearing people walking above the bedrooms in another area of the home just felt a little uncomfortable because we weren't aware that was an option (even though the ad does say that the pool & hottub are a shared space). We also had a hard time using the keypad on the front door & at the front gate. We just came in thru different entrances. I also would've cleaned the floors a bit more to keep them in good shape but there was no broom or vacuum that I could find. We still enjoyed this amazing home with amazing views. We had a great time overall.

fun had by all

We had a great time at the place. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. Our kids surf and swim so they loved being able to walk across the street to the Grandview surf beach. The only issue was figuring out the parking gate and some of the outside trash bins were full, not anyone's fault. But our family had a great time and will definitely keep this home in mind for future staycations.

Pool, Beach, & Sunsets

The house is nice and spacious, lots of room for 7 of us and great for entertaining with the ocean view deck, bbq, and kitchen open to the living areas. Getting to the beach is just as advertised...literally just across the street!!! + a pool, hot tub, and enjoying sunsets on the wonderful deck, what more could you ask for!
