This charming beach side cottage sits on a lot just 1/2 a block from the beach. I have had the great fortune to have owned the house for the past 30 years. We have always walked to the beach, never have taken a car. We are that close. Our street actually dead ends at the beach. So it feels very private and great for kids because there is very little traffic and no streets to cross to get to the water. We are in the Palm Beach Subdivision which is one of the Islands older beach side communities. There are many beautiful new homes in our sub division but doted through out are the original beach cottages built in the 1960's with lots of Old Galveston charm. We are one of those original cottages. We are on the west end of the island only 8 miles from the main drag. Only a 10 minute ride to all the restaurants and attractions but far enough away to enjoy a quiet retreat with beautiful (not so crowded) beaches. The house has a large front balcony with a view of the water which provides lots of outdoor space for sun bathing, star gazing, and of course the ocean view. There is always plenty of shade and a cool breeze on the first level perfect for outdoor barbecues and just relaxing. This house is a two bedroom, one bath. But there is also a downstairs shower with hot and cold water. Upstairs you'll find a kitchen with plenty of room, lots of seating and a view of the water. A spacious spot for everyone to hang out. And high ceilings make the rooms feel even larger. The kitchen has french doors that open on to the front balcony. Of course the kitchen is fully furnished with everything you will need for your family get away. The two bedrooms each have a queen size bed and the large living room has 3 day beds for extra quests. This house comfortably accommodates 2 couples and 3 or 4 children. Sheets and towels are included .We are pet friendly and only a $25.00 fee for each pet per stay. You will enjoy this house. It is very comfortable. It has character and charm and best of all it is close to the water. We would love for you to stay.

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend stay at this Galveston beach rental! The house was clean, spacious, and perfectly located near the shore, making our beach days a breeze. The amenities were top-notch, and the cozy vibe made it feel like a home away from home. The host was responsive and ensured everything went smoothly. We’re already looking forward to our next trip back! Highly recommend!
The outside chairs were broken/uncomfortable so didn’t really sit out enjoying the sound and waves. Shower is not for anyone over 5’3, non removable shower head. The living room floor was a 3” drop/stepup from every room. Not being used to stepping up into every room when leaving living room, we tripped multiple times. Once I tripped and fell into the bedroom. The beds were uncomfortable. If the air conditioner hadn’t been so good, we would have requested refund and looked elsewhere.
Clean home, close to the beach, and the owner was helpful.

The location is very convenient, with a short walk to the beach. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off and an additional hose for shoes, feet, and toys, which was helpful. One safety concern is the balcony railing. It consists of only two horizontal boards with large gaps, making it unsafe for young children who could easily fall through. The main issue during our stay was the air conditioning. The interior temperature regularly reached 85–90F in the middle of the day, making it very uncomfortable while the sun was on the house. We reported the issue on the first day, were advised to check the breakers, and were offered a refund if we chose to leave and stay elsewhere. Since we had two dogs and there were no other pet-friendly options available, we stayed. We followed up again requesting someone to come inspect the system but did not receive any further response. The A/C did cool the house fairly well in the evenings once the sun was down. Also all of the blankets on the beds had yellow stains on them. We reported this to the host on the first day and was told there were extra blankets and sheets. We checked those and found even more stains. We also found beer cans and trash left by prior tenants sitting behind the cushions on the couch as well as what looks like a bullet hole in one of the bedroom windows. The host seemed like a very nice person but very disappointed that she stopped communicating with us after reporting these issues.
Cute property, great location, great communication and easy checkin process. Was a little surprised to hear we needed to bring our own linens, but otherwise no issues!
Enjoyed the location to the beach, very easy access. Property manager was very accommodating on check-in and checkout. Took a few hours for the place to cool down, but once it cooled down the temperature remained very comfortable.
We had the best time at this cute beach house! The owner was so friendly and communicated very well with us! We were very close to the beach and It was very nice on this side of the island. My kids loved this house and didn’t want to leave! We can’t wait to return!
Very clean and comfortable home with a short walk to the beach. I arrived early and got to meet the owners. They are a lovely couple!!
I’d certainly recommend this home for a beach getaway!
If you remember Galveston beach houses from your childhood then this one fits the bill. Plenty of space to spread out and be comfortable. It’s charming, comfortable and close to the beach. The microwave didn’t work but that was our only complaint.
Our trip went off without any issues. We all had a wonderful time and the sad part was simply having to leave.
The beach was right there! It was clean and well kept.
Mostly everything we needed was there for us. This trip was a very rewarding experience.
Lovely property. Lots of space, beds, seating and kitchen supplies. Very close to the beach. Quiet neighborhood. We ate at convenient restaurants. Seven Seas grocery store was nearby. Wonderful weekend getaway. Responsive owner. We will be spending more weekends here. Highly recommend.
Great location by the beach within walking distance. The place was clean and tidy. A great place for a couple and 2 small dogs. Only thing would say is the A.C. could not keep up during the day, so it was little warm. Had to have fans and standing fans going. Overall it was a wonderful stay. We would atay again.
We had such a wonderful time staying here! It was so cozy and charming. Everything was comfortable and tidy. The home has everything you need. Elaine was so helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, a quick walk down a quiet dead end street to a clean, beautiful beach. The neighborhood was so quiet, perfect for a family. We have three young kids and it was easy to walk back and forth from the beach with them. We felt right at home. Can’t wait to go back!
Palm Beach reminds me of a quaint B&B in England. It's a darling cabin with fantastic character. I loved that there was so much to look at in the house and it was well stocked. I love antiques so it was a wonderful surprise to see all the fun collectables on display. The lot next door offered several games of croquet and frisby. There was a nice view of the beach from the deck which was only steps away. The owner is super friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time.
Elaine is very sweet and communication was excellent with her. The house is so cute with easy access to the beach. A few minor leaks when it rained but it was tolerable.
It was very close to the beach. The problems were you don't find out until you book it that there are no bed sheets or towels of any kind. The WiFi didn't work the whole time. I sent a text to the host on the first day, no response. Texted again on the second day. She finally responded on the third that morning. There is hardly any cell service (AT&T) in the house. Wifi would have been great. The biggest problem was that we found black mold all over the window shades and window sills. We discovered this on the final day as we were packing up to leave and my nephew slept on the twin bed next to it the last night.

Enjoyable stay on the beach.
It was lovely to be so close to the beach. We came and went all throughout the day. There was so much ocean life to be able to see. The house was easy to get to. It was nice to be able to shower off outside and not track sand into the house from the beach. It was also nice to have a few things to take to the beach. It would have been nice to have sheets and towels at the house. We had 6 people in one vehicle, so having bedding for 5 beds and towels took up a lot of extra room. There were plenty of blankets, but I’m unsure if they get washed each time. I understand that we will see bugs every now and then, but we did see a big roach the first day we came in. We kept our clothes off the floor. Overall, we were happy with our stay and when we had questions for the owner, they answered.
