Beautiful neighborhood and we easily walked to local shops and cafes. Riding the BART and making our way to Fisherman’s Wharf went smoothly and we enjoyed a day in nearby Muir Woods. Our accommodations were terrific: spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, fantastic shower, nicely appointed kitchen and lovely decor! Hope to be back again soon!
What a delicious place to stay. Warm, easy host. The pictures don’t do it justice. Highlights for me lounging on the back porch swing, a deep sleep at night in the quiet neighborhood and oh… The shower!
Wonderful host, very communicative and personable. The accommodations were perfect for us, great location near our family. We loved the rain shower in the bathroom!
We had a wonderful time at "Kensington Quarters". Trish, the host, went above & beyond to make us feel welcome & at home. The bed was comfy, the house was warm, quiet & cozy with lots of fun decor throughout, and the SHOWER was amazing!!! Thank you, Trish!
I just needed a convenient comfortable place to stay for a quick weekend to visit old friends. This fit the bill the home was clean and well appointed. Would definitely stay again
This is a great 1 BR basement apartment with a new kitchen and bathroom. The owner is highly responsive, and most East Bay locations are easily accessible. Walkable to downtown Kensington. I would return again!
Clean, quiet, and convenient. It is decorated and furnished perfectly and well hosted. It is no wonder that many of the previous notes in the guestbook at this property indicate that they are on a return visit. I, too, will likely be back.
We were in the Bay Area for a wedding in Berkeley. This VRBO was the perfect location for us. The unit has all the essentials--nice bed, nice coffee maker, nice shower, nice living room--but is also very artfully decorated. And Kensington is a beautiful area. We would stay here again!
Too brief stay near family gathering. Clean, well appointed lower level apartment below a lovely home, beautiful neighborhood. Safe and easy parking. Private deck more important for warmer season. Communication with Trish, the host, was excellent, check in/out a breeze. Will stay there again,
This unit was perfect for our stay during the beginning of a home remodel. The deck overlooking the big oak tree was so handy, and the unit stayed nice and cool during a short heat wave. The owner was so gracious and helpful.
The apartment was perfect for us. Very clean, comfortable and convenient. Trish supplied toiletries in the bath and condiments and spices in the kitchen. The location in the town of Kensington is close to restaurants, a grocery, and a wine shop. It's a beautiful and safe area to walk. Trish responds immediately when contacted. She and her husband could not have been more accommodating. We had a great stay.
This place is lovely! It's so cute and has a wonderful little private porch area with comfy hanging chairs. The owners are kind and some of the most accommodating people I've come across on any vacation rental site. Checkout procedures were easy, quick, and reasonable.
This area is incredibly difficult to get around in and really is not suitable for new drivers. I was lucky to have people who are familiar with Berkeley driving with me, but the stress driving around here would cause a novice driver may cause you to want to pick another place. Conversely, if you're willing to walk, you can see an adorable town with lots of shops, cafes, etc and some of the most incredible views of the Bay Area I've ever seen from gorgeous parks.
I do think the owner is getting a bit ripped off by their cleaning service- anything that isn't immediately visible is completely untouched. Your jacket falls off the hook behind the door in the corner? Something falls under the bed? It's gonna be covered in what looks like years of dust bunnies that have been pushed out of sight instead of picked up. The cleaning staff also don't seem to clear out spiders, as I had to get rid of maybe two dozen while I was there. If you're comfortable with small spiders, this place is perfectly fine, but watch out if you're traveling with someone who is afraid of them.
Overall, this place is comfy, affordable, in a cute and (mostly) walkable area, and has hosts who will be very good to you.
