≈ THE LAKE HOUSE ≈
a perfect base to explore Olympic National Park, even the national park cabins aren’t steps from a lake like this! This retro log cabin is surrounded by “world-class” hiking, views, and you’re steps from swimming and fishing on our private deck over Lake Sutherland.
Note: This cabin might not suitable for timid drivers due to narrow parking, young children due to the waterfront, and guests with mobility limitations due to 40-steps to the home. Only one parked car allowed. See rules & access below.
---- Our tiny & cozy 620 sq. ft. vintage cabin has two queen size beds in two small bedrooms that sleep 4. The kitchen, dining, and living room is an open floor plan with vast windows to enjoy the lake views.
We provide: ~ A few books, puzzles, and board games. ~ Kitchen with essentials including salt, pepper, and cooking oil. ~ Locally roasted pour-over coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. ~ Wifi (Generally have good signal but sometimes, it can be disrupted). ~ Old fashioned local radio ~ Propane BBQ
Sorry but… ~ No TV to encourage unplugging and being immersed in nature. ~ No outdoor firepit. ~ No washer or dryer on site.
Originally built in 1948, our vintage log cabin is a work in progress as we continue to make upgrades into next year. If you are looking for luxury, our modest cabin is not the best fit. Follow our restoration journey on instagram: @olympiclakehouse. ---
≈ ACCESS DETAILS ≈ Since this cabin sits on the lake, you will need to walk down 40-steps of imperfect stairs to access the cabin. This cabin is not handicap accessible or suitable for guests with mobility limitations!
Also, our private dirt road is narrow and a little steep. All-wheel drive is not needed but can be intimidating for timid drivers with big vehicles. You will also need to make a 5-point turnaround or reverse uphill to exit —A little adventurous but very possible.
≈ PARKING ≈ Parking is limited to ONE vehicle only due to our narrow road and RVs or trailers are not allowed. Instructions on where to park will be provided upon check-in.

Perfect, cozy house on the most beautiful lake! I spent many summers Lake Sutherland and it was so nice to be back. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay!
We loved our stay in this cozy and intimate lake house including all of the thoughtful retro touches. Waking up to the morning view of Lake Sutherland was a dream. Karen's communication was timely and helpful, and she made sure we were set up with all the information we needed. Thanks for a magical experience, we'll definitely be back!
