The Carpenter’s Cabin sits in a storybook setting nestled among the pines, creating a sense of privacy and escape while still being close to the area’s most popular attractions.
The heart of the cabin is its signature conversation pit — a warm, sun-filled gathering space recognized by architecture and design enthusiasts around the world. Designed to encourage connection and conversation, this unforgettable room invites guests to slow down, settle in, and spend time together. Complete with a modern electric fireplace and television, it is both beautiful and comfortable.
The walkout lower level was created for entertainment and relaxed evenings together. A large sectional sofa provides the perfect spot for movie nights, board games, or simply unwinding after a day exploring Hocking Hills. The bunk room creates a cozy hideaway for younger guests and guests young at heart, while a full bath and direct access to the hot tub and seasonal hammock area make the lower level feel like a retreat of its own.
The kitchen serves as the heart of gathering and is thoughtfully stocked with cooking essentials, including a mixer, blender, waffle maker, French press, standard coffee maker, and tools for preparing meals for your group. Organic coffee, teas, and basic spices are provided. The dining area comfortably seats ten guests, with additional seating available at the kitchen island.
Bedrooms throughout the cabin were designed with comfort in mind. Each bed includes organic bamboo sheets and organic linen duvet covers, along with bedside tables, reading sconces, seating, and convenient charging access.
Turkish cotton and eucalyptus bath towels, organic body products, and thoughtful touches such as hooks, baskets, and shelving help make your stay comfortable and functional.
Families especially love the Jaybird Fort — our mini Carpenter’s Cabin designed just for kids. Located steps away from the cabin, this playful little hideaway creates opportunities for imagination and adventure during your stay.
Though spacious enough to sleep up to 12 guests, The Carpenter’s Cabin remains cozy enough for a quiet retreat for two.
Enjoy the local attractions Hocking Hills is known for, many just 5–20 minutes away, or simply stay on property and spend your time exploring private trails and relaxing among the pines.
Please note: Only registered guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property. We do not allow bachelor or bachelorette parties, events, or gatherings of any kind.

Beautiful stay with amenities that nearly require a three day stay to fully enjoy. This was the perfect and ideal gathering for our Bookclub, I will be sure to book again in the future.
What a great place to stay. Plenty of room for the 5 of us. We used the fire pit and hot tub a lot, really enjoyed both. Host was very easy to work with. Loved Hocking Hills.

Perfect stay if you like to be secluded. Loved the fire pit and outdoor spaces. Not a far drive to spend the day hiking at the park. Enjoyed the little pizza shop in the small laurelville town.

Just a great stay in a cozy, well done cabin. Very private. Loved the firepit area. We may have danced around it a bit. Great beds, and everything was stocked well. Just awesome.

Loved our stay at the Carpenters cabin! Great location and very private. Kitchen was well stocked with even more than expected. Fire pit was the best part.
We had a magnificent stay at this beautiful property! It looks like it’s out of a fairytale as you drive the last bit onto the actual property as you approach the house. The home is incredible and every little nook is turned into a creative space. Every detail has been thought out to perfection! We look forward to returning again and spending a magical weekend in those beautiful woods!

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Please do come back and explore the trails on the property. Spring and Fall are our personal favorites times on the trail but winter (especially with snow!) is so pretty too. Very peaceful.
Super sophisticated and well constructed, our daughters (both industrial designers) loved the architecture and the appointments. Kids had an absolute blast. Thanks so much!

Perfect and secluded to enjoy a nice relaxing weekend near Hocking Hills. The playhouse offered great entertainment for the little ones under 6. The fire pit and Jamison offered great places to mingle and enjoy s’mores around the fire pit. The cabin offered luxurious accommodations but useful gathering our kids and grandkids together. Loved the place and highly recommend staying at when visiting Hocking Hills State Park.
Beautiful property, sense of seclusion. Lots of hammocks, space to be alone or together. Nice, functional kitchen.Plenty of what we needed!

About the host
Hosted by Jami Jenkins
I am an interior & architectural designer who enjoys creating unique, highly functional spaces that make people instantly feel both comfortable and inspired. The Carpenter's Cabin was designed as our personal, multi-generational, family getaway, shared with others when we're not enjoying it. GloCabin is a romantic, magical escape for two. Twelve34 House is our most luxe property, and our most modern, inspired by Mid-Century Modernism. Each has a very distinct design, and distinct surroundings, but all are sustainable, luxury rentals. Rent one or bring the entire family and rent all three.
Why they chose this property
Our 32 beautiful acres is about 5 miutes north of downtown Laurelville and 5-25 minutes to everything Hocking County Ohio offers.
The Carpenter's Cabin offers four stories to enjoy and explore on a tiny footprint of just 934sf, but lives large with 1710 finished sf of interiors and an additional 1000sf of outdoor decks and patio to enjoy.
Our most popular feature, the conversation pit, has been shared on many high profile media sources including Bob Vila, Midwest Living Magazine, and SHLTR, as well as showcased on Magnolia Network's, The Cabin Chronicles.
Be sure to explore our trails that meander along our creeks, our beautiful ravine, through pines, and deciduous trees. Any season makes for a beautiful stay at the cabin. Be sure to bring rubber boots - creeking is so much fun, especially for the children!
