Welcome to Spruce Cove, our intimate, rustic, end-of-the-road-cottage settled at the top of Muscongus Bay where you share the solitude with a resident blue heron, bald eagles, and the occasional seal. With access to tidal swimming right in your front yard, this is a perfect place to unwind and relax. Read in the hammock, bike, and explore the mid-coast - just 25 minutes to Rockland and Camden. Enjoy a cozy fire indoor or out or read on the porch overlooking the cove. There are numerous hiking trails right on property as well. We live within an hour and are happy to accommodate any needs or questions you may have. We provide a filtered water for drinking water during your stay.
What does rustic mean, some ask? Well, it is a cottage and only half-insulated. The main part can get warm during the day (we provide fans). We have had signs of mice in the past, although none recently. The cottage sits at the bottom of a ledged outcropping and water access can be difficult for people with mobility issues. The drive in is on a private cottage association road with a steep grade towards the end - be prepared to take it slow!

Wow - what a gem of a place. Perfect for a quiet week on the coast. Close to a nice co-op and farm stands. Great for kids too. I think we’ll be back. Would recommend.
Truly one of the best stays we’ve ever had. The location is quiet, at the end of a road, and right on the water- perfect for relaxing. We enjoyed the amenities including the grill, the hammock, and fire pit. We loved that it was pet friendly and could get a few days to relax and explore the mid coast.

Thank you for staying with us and for the lovely review! Come back soon.
Amazing location! It is a ways from any town/village (7-8 miles) and at the end of the road - and peaceful!!! Right on an amazing tidal inlet. Cottage has all that we needed yet has a rustic feel to it. The screen room was perfect for evening breezes as the night cooled. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a beautiful and quiet getaway.

Great property and exactly as advertised. Perfect getaway on private back cove tidal waters. Perfect for wildlife watching and relaxing. Family loved it.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay in this Oceanside cabin. The available paddle boards and kayak really made the trip! It is a perfect setting for a quiet Maine vacation.

Thank you for taking care of our place! We hope you return for another stay.
The cottage was very good, excellent cleaning. we had everything we need for a great week, not to mention that there was a kayak in the house that we used several times. I can not wait for next year to be there again for Lotos of fun.
Perfect family vacation spot. They had so many toys and books to entertain our young kids in the morning and rainy days. The wood burner made everything so cozy. The three season porch was my favorite room. And how they’ve set up all the outdoor space was so inviting! Fantastic place to get away from the real world.
This cottage was such a great place. The views were amazing. The place was clean and well taken taken care off. My husband, myself and our pup had a relaxing time while we were there.
We spent a week at this gorgeous and sweet little home at the edge of a Maine inlet. Everything we needed or wanted was there including paddle boards and kayaks, a little playground, and comfortable sweet indoor living spaces. Definitely will try to come again!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is on an secluded cove so the view is fantastic with incredible birdwatching--herons, bald eagles, and many other species. The cottage is on a dead end of a pleasant dirt road so very quiet and chill. Nice landscaping between cottage and the water's edge. We hiked most days on various conservancy trails and bought fish at Delano's and Jameson's--nearby fish markets. Attentive and responsive property owner.
This beautiful cabin was cozy and modern, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully well-equipped. Everything we needed was provided. Multiple places inside and outside for gathering and relaxing; a cute kitchen with all the necessities; and the super-efficient wood stove was easy to use. It was a great base for exploring nearby, but also comfortable for just hanging out and enjoying the quiet. Thank you for sharing this amazing place.
We had the BEST time at Morgan's place. Check in was easy. It's quiet and secluded, right on the water. It has everything you need - no reason to even leave! We swam, paddle boarded and kayaked around every day when the tide came in. Our dog loved hunting for crabs and exploring the area. My 3 year old was never bored between the hammock, swings, water and all of the toys and games inside that Morgan provided. We saw eagles and ospreys every morning. Just the perfect place for anyone who loves the ocean and nature or just wants to relax. Hope to be back again soon!
Our stay in the cove was fantastic. The cottage was thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have wanted from the tandem kayak to bedside coasters. Each night we sat by the fire, listened to the sounds of the ocean and remarked on how the quiet and perfectly dark cottage at the end of the cove created peaceful stargazing moments. We found spaces everywhere, from morning coffee chairs nestled by the wood pile, anti-gravity recliners we could move around the yard, Adirondacks chairs by the solo stove, deck picnic tables, to the indoor dining table, that gave us comfortable relaxing oceanscape experiences. We look forward to returning, thank you for sharing this special space!

So glad you loved the space. Thank you for staying with us!
This property is amazing! Quiet, serene, picturesque- just absolutely beautiful! The perfect place to be if you want to unplug from the business of life and connect with nature and Maine’s beauty. For us, it worked! I would say that if you have more then 3 adults or older children, the space is really only meant for 3 adults and a child (crib), but if one adult doesn’t mind sleeping on a floor mattress, it works! Worth it for us!!
The location of this camp is nothing short of magical. It was absolutely still the day we arrived. More quiet than I’ve ever experienced - and coming from a long drive it was almost meditative and healing. The camp is everything promised in the description - about 15 minutes to Waldoboro town center. We managed to make it into the water once during our stay as the cove is tidal and it seemed like it was basically low tide every afternoon while we were there but it is calm and flat and so easy to enjoy. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking, the charcoal grill is great - but be warned the kitchen is very small so take that into consideration. All in all, we loved our stay and hope to be back!
This sweet end-of-the-road spot was a perfect getaway for our family of three. The house is small but clean and cozy and there is plenty of outside space to spend time in as well, hammock included. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and we appreciated the solo stove for roasting marshmallows. And the double kayak and paddle boards were such a plus. There is plenty do without going anywhere but it is also a great jumping off spot for many lovely sights, including the Farnsworth. Morgan was super responsive and had lots of great suggestions for places to go. We definitely plan to return!

We loved hosting you and your family, Alana! We hope to host you again in the near future!
We had a great stay at Morgan's rental this past week. The outdoor space was perfect - plenty of places (hammock, Adirondack chairs, picnic table, bench, etc) to relax & unwind while looking into the cove. Lots for kids to do too, from games/puzzles inside to swings & a path to the water outside.
The home is located on a very (very) quiet dirt road & we didn't hear another car the entire time we were there! The outdoor shower is a great place to rinse off after playing in the cove at low tide or going for a hike.
The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to cook for a few nights (not too many restaurants nearby, which we knew ahead of time). They also had a drip coffee maker & a French press (important to know for those who need their morning coffee - like me).
Great spot for watching birds (Osprey, sandpipers, terns, Great Blue Heron, etc) during the day & the stars at night, firepit & chopped firewood included. Close enough for half or full day trips to other towns in the area - we especially like Port Clyde & Damariscotta.
Would love to come back!
