Nestled into the hillside, our cabin boasts unparalleled views of the mountains, and river. Escape to our charming cabin just minutes away from Grayson Highlands State Park, offering a perfect blend of tranquility and entertainment. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the community arcade and outdoor theater. We have highspeed Wi-Fi across the entire property, our cabin provides all the comforts you need.

400sq foot cabin with long porch. 2 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a TV, queen bed, and dresser. The second bedroom is a smaller bedroom with a full mattress, and bunk cot. The living room has a fold out futon. The lot is a large graveled space with a firepit, sits above the rest of the property and overlooks the mountains and the creek.

Relax to the sounds of the Creek that runs in front of the cabin.

The entire 10-acre property has Highspeed Wireless internet, perfect if you're looking to work remotely.

Highlands Hideaways has direct access to Grayson Highlands State Park via the trailhead across the river. Following Wilson Creek, you will see cascading waterfalls less than half a mile up the trail.

The Community Arcade located on the lower lot is available to all guests at Highland Hideaways. Bring quarters! The arcade features 3 FREE-TO-PLAY Multi-cades, a claw machine, karaoke, Darts, Retro Jukebox, and an Air-Hockey Table, Pinball.

The Private Drive-in theater is located behind the Arcade, with enough room for 1 vehicle. Drive-in made easy, with a single button press to start the screening.

We have a 3 hole glow in dark disc golf course (see photos) that spans the property, the glowing baskets and glow in the dark discs make playing at night a blast!

Streaming Service including Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Disney Plus, Philo TV (75+ live channels) and Crunchyroll.

Smart speakers are located through the cabin and arcade to play music.

We stayed here 3 nights to do some hiking around Grayson Highlands. The location of the cabin is absolutely perfect with beautiful views right from the front door. My son really loved the arcade, which was a really fun perk to our stay here. The cabin had everything we were looking for and then some. This was one of our favorite trips we've taken and the cabin played a big part in that. If/when we come back to this area, we will be staying here again.

Fun trip

The cabin was as advertised and extremely clean. The deck offers a nice view and atmosphere. There are other cabins on the property but they are spaced out to give you seclusion. Enjoyed the stay!

Visit to Grayson Highlands

The stay was great. It's just a few minutes to the entrance of Grayson Highlands State Park and a great price. It's comfortable, modern with Alexa, Wifi, TV, etc...but still out in the country with a nice stream a short walk away. Very nice place to stay overall. The driveway is pretty steep.

Great Little Cabin

Came for hiking in Grayson Highlands. Everything was very clean, had everything we needed, would stay again. Kids loved the cabin itself and the arcade down the hill. Cabin has a nice view. Excellent communication from the host given they were out of power due to a winter storm the day we were set to arrive. They worked with us with what whatever we decided to do, and we decided to still come. Power was restored prior to our arrival. We also visited Appalachian Caverns with the kids which is about an hour and a half away. Had a great weekend.

The Overlook Cabin

Recommend advising your guests about the steep driveway and that it requires a higher clearance vehicle. Our friends sustained car damage at the top of the driveway. Need hooks in bathroom. Need a regular coffee maker, not a Keurig. Need more blankets! Otherwise, fun cabin.

We're based in Raleigh, NC, but you may find us at Highland Hideaways more often than not. I work as a Network Engineer, and my wife is a Cardiac Sonographer.

In 2021, we purchased Rumple's Retreat and have been working tirelessly to expand Highland Hideaways ever since. We both love to tinker, which led to the creation of an arcade in early 2022. We renovated, built, or upgraded all of the games in the arcade and continued to expand by adding a theater in mid-2022.

We started construction on The Overlook in early 2022, and finished in early 2024.

Our passion for building and renovating led us to also purchase and renovate Wild Horse Lodge the cabin below in early 2023.



What makes this property unique

The beautiful creek that runs through the property is always singing, you can hear it best from the overlook cabin. This cabin was built on the side of the hill where you can see the valley below, tucked away and secluded from the rest of the rentals.
