Cosy Heritage Cottage in Newstead, Central to Daylesford, Maldon & Castlemaine
Set in peaceful Newstead—a charming riverside town—you are ideally placed to explore the iconic streets of Maldon, Castlemaine and Daylesford. Relax in the quiet garden by the water feature for a restful stay.
Perfect for two couples or a romantic getaway, with two queen bedrooms, full equipped kitchen, and a rare romantic double-shower wet room.
PETS We welcome your pet—after all, they’re part of the family. There are just a few things to keep in mind: Please bring your pet’s own bed. It helps them feel more at home. Pets are not allowed on the beds or furniture.
Pets must not be left alone in the cottage. A new place can feel a little overwhelming for them, and we’d hate for your furry family member to feel anxious while on holiday.
Our charming period cottage is tucked just over the Loddon River in Newstead. While the backyard (152 m²) is fenced, there’s a park directly across the road and farmland and bushland nearby — which can be very exciting for curious noses! So please keep dogs on a lead when out and about, and make sure they’re supervised in the backyard.
RECOMMEND TOUR Aboriginal Elder Uncle Rick led cultural tour offers an authentic immersion into ancient traditions and practices.

Neal was wonderful and the place is very petite and lovely. The access to the herb garden was so sweet and definitely made our dinners extra yummy! The place is so peaceful! Thank you for the lovely stay!
Great facilities and tasteful interior design and ambience. Perfect for us and our dog with enclosed garden. Lovely welcoming basket and great hosts who gave us invaluable advice about local attractions and places to eat.Having a fire place a bonus too.

Great for a winter get away
Neal and Marie are very welcoming hosts, who will tend to any needs to make your stay stress-free. The cottage has been beautifully and tastefully restored, with the addition of a modern bathroom. A lovely, quite and comfortable place to stay. Very well thermally insulated with an easy to access bathroom (from the main bedroom) with a double shower. Thank you Neal and Marie and we look forward to our next stay with you :).
We had a fantastic relaxing few days away in this charming cottage in Newstead.
Neal was a great host, everything that we needed for our stay to be comfortable was provided and we would certainly love to return!
A lovely old cottage with a modern and convenient kitchen and bathroom. It's well located opposite the old - and no longer operational - Newstead Railway station, in the Victorian goldfields with the nearby towns of Maldon and Castlemaine. Peaceful. Relaxing. . .
Hosts were excellent. Contact immediate and very informative of the property and things to do in the area. The house is ‘very cute’ and Neal and Marie really care that their guests have a great stay. So many added extras that made us feel welcome. Fireplace was a wonderful place to fall asleep in front of and good quality linen and ammenities abound. A truly luxurious stay. Thanks so much, Neal and Marie.
Overall a lovely, relaxing experience. Neal was a very helpful host who provided a lot of useful local advice! We look forward to visiting again in the future.

The location was ideal, offering both convenience and a peaceful atmosphere. The amenities exceeded our expectations, and we truly felt like we were in a home away from home. Cute little comfortable cottage with all that you need for your stay. Neal was very helpful (plenty of tips on places to go and eat around the area) and always available.
Would recommend
Neal and Marie are the best hosts. We had a really lovely stay. It is a very comfortable place with all the amenities you need. Having access to herb garden is a plus. Would definitely be back later this year.
We all loved this property - very peaceful spot, had everything we needed, well equipped, quality furnishings, comfortable, with a perfect verandah to chillax on! Newstead is a great location to explore surrounding areas, and the local IGA and butcher is handy if you want to self cater. Friendly town & owners - we felt very welcome.
