Peaceful lakeview across the street with canoe/kayak rental next door. Very clean. Host was very responsive. Loved close proximity to Acadia for our family reunion.
This house was great for a large family gathering with pets allowed. Proximity to kayak rentals & public access beach on Long Pond is attractive. Bedrooms and common areas were spacious and accommodating for larger groups.
We had a great stay! The house was incredibly spacious and worked really well for our group of nine adults and two children. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out, the bedrooms were very large, and there were enough bathrooms that we never felt crowded. The location was also wonderful, especially being so close to the lake. We really enjoyed the backyard and fire pit and were able to spend an evening outside roasting marshmallows.A few of the kitchen items were a little dated, but everything was functional and we had what we needed to make meals and coffee during our stay.Overall, it was a comfortable, spacious home in a great location and a really nice setup for a larger family or group. We would definitely recommend it!
This house was big with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a family trip. Loved that it is pet friendly and a great location on the quieter side of the island but still very easy drive to the park and bar harbor. Furniture is getting a little worn and dirty and bathrooms didn’t have soap or shampoo but in general the house had all the basic needs. Just be aware that one side of the fence is the backyard is very low (around 3 feet or less) so it is fully fenced but easy for a larger dog to jump if that’s important to you.
The house is in a wonderful location, close to Long Pond for a quick swim, paddle or beach hang. We were able to make regular trips all over MDI because the house is centrally located and accessible to many points on the island. We enjoyed using the house as a jumping off point to many hikes in Acadia. We had a great picnic lunch and window shopping in Bar Harbor. We had good coffee in Southwest Harbor. We ate Lobster rolls and enjoyed sunset close to the house. Our host was responsive to our needs and communicative throughout our time. The house was clean and had a fenced in backyard so our dog could be outside. The kitchen could use a few more essentials: complete sets of measuring cups and spoons, instructions on how to use the cooktop. It would be great if the yard can be mowed so the outdoor space can be a place to hangout. We had a very special time visiting MDI and hope to be back soon!

Spacious, centrally located rental that offered good value for the price. We appreciated the numerous bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the comfortable and clean living-room furniture, which made it easy for our group to relax together. The main concern was privacy and security. The apartment appears to connect directly to the main rental house through adjoining doors: one in the upstairs bedroom with two beds and another near the downstairs dining/living/kitchen area. Because these doors could not be blocked or controlled from within the rental, and noise from the adjoining space was audible at all hours, the arrangement felt like an oversight from a renter’s perspective. This was especially noticeable in the upstairs bedroom at night, where it was difficult to tell whether sounds and footsteps were coming from inside the rental or the neighboring apartment. Other than the noise, however, we were not otherwise disturbed during our stay. The apartment was also somewhat lightly supplied, particularly with bath towels and cooking utensils, and the bathrooms could have been cleaner.
