Excellent Rental!

The listing description and pictures are exactly what you get with this property! The rental was clean and well maintained - right out of a magazine. The beds were very comfortable, and even though it was only one bath, it is large and worked out great for us. The location was great too and Uber picked us up for our night on the town with no problem. Will definitely stay again!

Clean apartment with great location!

The Downtown Annie was exactly as advertised with a very convenient location and fresh interior renovations. I really appreciate it when a rental property is clean and well maintained because it makes the vacation so much more enjoyable. I would 100% recommend this apartment to my friends and family.

Great property. Modern, clean, good location to downtown Asheville. Center providing help to homeless near by, but nothing to be concerned about. No one bothered us or the property. Reminded us how blessed we are.

Clean, comfortable, easy reservation process and access property.

Clean, comfortable, easy reservation process and access property. Every Uber trip to downtown was $6.40, well worth it not to try to find parking. Some might be able to walk to downtown, but I wasn’t doing it in flip flops.

I actually enjoyed my stay at the Downton Annie. The place was clean and walking distance to downtown. My only disregard is the homeless shelter across the street. I would definitely stay DA again.

The perfect Asheville gateway

The property is great: comfortable, clean, and has everything you'll need. It's also close to all that Asheville has to offer. Our only complaint was the homeless day center across the street. It contributed to some interesting entertainment during the day and, as women, was a little disconcerting walking back at night.

The property is great.

The property itself is really great. It was well stocked with everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. It is very close to all the restaurants and breweries you could ever want. If you rent a car, there is convenient off street parking in the back. There is a homeless shelter across the street that is very active and many people sleep outside on the porch all night long. Although we were never harassed, I would have a felt a little intimated if I were staying alone. Now that I know that about the property, I would probably stay again.

Great place walking distance to downtown

The apartment was clean and organized. Well stocked kitchen and nice appliances. Beds were comfortable. Very short walk to lots of restaurants and breweries in downtown Asheville. As stated by others, the only thing of note is that it is next to a homeless community outreach center so there is quite an interesting variety of individuals coming and going during daytime hours. However we had no issues and walked to downtown every evening.

Good location but limited sleep

Apartment was very clean and well kept with a fresh, minimalist design. The location is walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops. We had no concerns with the location of a homeless day service across the street. The drawback was the lack of insulation in the home. We heard every step people took in the adjoining apartments and had a group of young people returning home each night at 2am. Talking and laughing lasted an hour each night. They were not overly loud -- just easy to hear in this home. We would not choose it again due to this issue.

A great find

We could not find a hotel room in Asheville where we were dropping off my daughter to UNCA, but were very lucky to find this wonderful apartment. The place was extremely well-equipped with new appliances, including a washer/dryer, throughout. Although we did not make much use of the kitchen, we noted that it had everything one would need, right down to a stocked spice rack! We also appreciated off street parking and the convenient location minutes from downtown. The owner, Jeremy, lives in one of the other units and was rapidly responsive to inquiries and requests, including showing my daughter how to work the locks! I think she was reluctant to trade these digs for her dorm room. Given that we required two bedrooms, staying here proved to be a really good value as well. I highly recommend this apartment, especially for those who are spending a few days in the beautiful Asheville area, where there are lots of interesting things to do.

Very nice facility, close to down-town, comfortable and convenient

Very nice facility, close to down-town, comfortable and convenient. This is a second floor apartment with stair access. Two bedrooms, with very comfortable beds. The larger bedroom includes a TV closet and clothes storage. The smaller one does not have a TV. The smaller bedroom has no in-room storage space for clothes although there is a closet in the hall. One bath. Kitchen, well equipped, includes clothes washer and dryer. Comfortable living room with a TV, TV is limited to over-the-air and a handful of networked options (if you have subscriptions). Ample parking behind the building. Close to down-town, probably a 10-15 minute walk or 5 minute drive (downtown had good on-street parking available from what we found). Convenient access off the main highways. Opposite side of the street has a half-way house, which was not an issue, residents are milling around in the mornings, though. Would definitely recommend this if you need a place in Asheville.

About the host

Hosted by Sarah, reservationist

Host profile image
The owner, Jeremy Goldstein has made 32 North Ann Street a project since he purchased the property in 2002, slowly making improvements, while running his business in the building directly next door. Over the past 20 years, Jeremy has built a successful multi-disciplinary real estate practice. Jeremy graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies. He held salesperson licenses in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and currently maintains broker licenses in North Carolina and South Carolina. Mr. Goldstein advises private and institutional investors nationwide in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of commercial property. He married an Asheville native, and together they moved to Asheville to raise their four sons. He spends his “free” time traveling with his family to their sons’ sporting events. Eventually, he hopes to get back to hiking and biking in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. But for now he manages to get to Crossfit — unfortunately well before the sun comes up, in addition to serving as Chairman of Asheville Planning & Zoning Commission and board member to Irene Wortham Center.

Why they chose this property

Like any such investment, careful thought and attention to detail are important. The properties location next door to Mr. Goldstein's offices, made the undertaking manageable, and a worthwhile investment.

What makes this property unique

In addition to the superb location, the Apartment has been completely renovated with brand new appliances and furnishings. The beautiful artwork is of the surrounding mountains and local graffiti art. Travelers will have the benefit of knowing the owner is in the building next door, as well as assistance from his friendly guest services team, who has an intimate knowledge of downtown Asheville and will work to provide guests with an easy booking process and most importantly, recommendations for a memorable Asheville experience.
