The space had the best equipped kitchen we have seen. It was very comfortable, and had an amazong location near downtown and the greenway as well as hiking trails a short drive away. Michele is the best host and was so thoughtful with her recommendations helping us do all the activities we were looking to do. Also great restaurant recommendations! Thank you Michele!
My family and I enjoyed this place immensely, Michele has thought of everything anyone would ever need for a stay. The location in such a beautiful neighborhood is great and it's very centrally located. My daughter enjoyed the toys, toddler table, her own private room with bunk, and of course the chickens! We loved Asheville and hope to be back soon!
As a 32nd anniversary get away from our adult children launching the nest, the space, coffee and beer bonus, and outdoor venue, were just right. Plenty of room! Loved the shower soap! Thank you, we were blessed, Tom

Great for families with kids!
The property is well maintained and cozy, with lots of amenities perfect for families with children. The only downsides are the driveway, which was OK with a Prius but quite steep, and the Internet was super slow. Luckily we didn't need it as we were busy! I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your enthusiastic review and feedback, Angela. I value guest input as it helps me provide the best possible experience for all who stay.
As mentioned on the website, the driveway to reach the parking space in front of the apartment door can be tricky to navigate for certain vehicles and unfortunately not something I'm allowed to alter due to historic zone restrictions. I feel fortunate to be able to offer guests the second option to park in front of the house, just a short distance from the apartment door.
The internet situation is puzzling as the apartment has its own dedicated high speed internet account. I appreciate your upbeat attitude (saying you didn't mind because you were busy with activities) but I regret not being made aware of the problem during your stay. It's important to me that all guests have strong, consistent access to high speed internet service.
As soon as I read your review, I had Charter Communication come verify the system. They found a strong signal. My current guests have also confirmed they are having no problems with the internet. I suspect you may have been clicking on the internet account that is for my family's space instead of the rental apartment's account. Whatever the reason, I'm sorry your access was slow. Thanks to your helpful feedback, I've left a note on the fridge in the apartment asking guests to please feel free to let me know if they have any issues with getting online or the speed of the access.
I'm glad you had a great time in Asheville. Thank you again for taking time to offer feedback.
Best,
Michele
Property is in an excellent location, close to everything in Asheville. Nice, quiet neighborhood. Michelle has thought of everything for children: books, stuffed animals, games, trampoline, swing set, tree house with zip line and chickens. My grandchildren loved it. Kitchen has spices, coffee, microwave and an induction oven. Nice climate friendly health & cleaning products. I highly recommend.
Michele was so sweet, was quick to respond and went out of her way to be helpful. Our daughter got sick while we were there and she was so understanding and provided replacement bedding right away. There was a nice supply of kids stuff and she had the pack 'n play already set up when we got there. The pictures do not do this place justice. I appreciate that she's trying to keep the shower doors out of the landfil, but you do have to be very careful when opening/closing the doors. We would stay here again when our kids (3 & 1 years old) are older and are able to shower on their own.
Had a couple of days to visit family in Asheville and this worked out great. The property was well stocked with everything and Michele was very responsive. The beds were comfy and the unit was clean. We'd definitely stay again and hopefully have a little more time on the next trip.
My wife, son and I had a wonderful week in Asheville. Our host, Michelle, was very gracious and helpful, and set up the home beautifully. We walked into downtown Asheville to sample the sights and food several times. Her neighborhood has so many great old homes - it was a treat to hang out there!
We definitely would rent again from Michelle if we are in the area.
The pictures of the property don't do it justice. The unit was clean and had great personal touches and we loved the personal guide book of Asheville Michelle had left. The home is situated in a historical neighborhood in the midst of beautiful old homes and bnbs. There is a great espresso caravan right down the hill and pristine walking trails to UNC Asheville and downtown right outside of your door! Michelle included everything we needed for a comfortable stay and even through in some local eggs (from her backyard!) and pretzels/hummus. She was quick to respond and although we were booked up and didn't have time to chat, she always had a smile. One bathroom for 3 girls wasn't ideal, but the rest of the space was perfect. Will definitely book here again!
Clean home in great location. The rental feels larger than it appears in the pictures. Many windows make it nice and bright. Beautiful, well equipped kitchen. Michele includes everything you could possibly need including soap, shampoo, snacks, coffee, tea, and even fresh eggs from the backyard residents. You couldn’t ask for a more thoughtful host!
My family and I stayed here for a long weekend and absolutely loved the place and the location. The property owner Michele was awesome! Great location within walking distance to downtown and a great historic neighborhood and trails to walk. We had 2 adults and 4 kids and we all were very comfortable. We will be back in the future.
This was the perfect Asheville home away from home! Michele provided every amenity you could need, including fully equipped kitchen with energy saving induction burners, free coffee, tea, and other snacks, a SmartTV along with DVD's, and so many fun activities for kids! We have already decided to come back on our next trip to Asheville. Michele was so helpful and accommodating!
Lovely 100 year old home that is well maintained. Location is walkable to downtown and greenway/UNC. Owner is on-site and is responsive when needed as well as accomodating to our scheduling needs during the pandemic Very clean and comfortable. So nice we are heading back in November!
This was a great little bungalow that had literally everything you could possibly need. We did not have small children in our party, but there was even a fort building kit in the closet. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Asheville.
We had a lovely stay. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed, plus much appreciated extra touches like fresh flowers and snacks. Thank you Michelle!
Michele has thought of everything for this rental. She had local hummus, crackers, and beer waiting for us. Our 2 year old loved playing with the toys and reading books that were in the apartment. The neighborhood is beautiful and we loved being able to walk to downtown.

Hello Fellow Traveler(s)!
During the academic year I am a high school teacher. In the summer I'm an explorer of places far and near: Alaska, Quebec, France, Costa Rica... and Asheville itself... as there is much to see and do right here in beautiful Western North Carolina.
In addition to teaching and traveling, I am a parent, writer, runner, appreciator of good food, film & music, and a fan of nice people everywhere. In fact, I'm so much a fan of nice people, as best I can I like to share with them the wonderful place I call home.
I look forward to helping you have a great experience discovering Asheville.
What makes this property unique
This Historic Arts & Craft Bungalow Was built in 1920 as a Single Family Home. Previous Owners Divided the Home Into Three Independent Apartments. When I Purchased the Home in 2005, It Was in Need of Tender Loving Care- a Restoration Project! With the Help of Some Incredible People, the House Has Been Transformed in the Past Decade. It is a Joy to Help Bring Such a Beautiful Home Back to Life, an Even Greater Joy to Share This With Others.
The First Thing I Fell in Love With About the House Was Actually Its Large Wooded Lot. It is Extraordinary to Be Located in the Downtown Area Yet Feel As Though One is in a Forest. the Neighborhood Itself is Full of Historic Homes On Expansive Lots. the Tree-lined Avenues Are Lovely- a Pleasantly Shaded Place to Stroll and Take in the Early 20th Century Architecture. the Neighborhood is Quiet, Safe, and Convenient to the Heart of Downtown Asheville.
